Well holy hell. This has been friggin' surprisingly awesome! I just read the first two books in about a day. Maybe a little over 24 hours. Still, that's bad ass. It shows I got shit done since all I did was lounge around with my kindle glued to my hand. Even at dinner at Cici's pizza, I had it in my lap. Reading. While eating.

I absolutely love this series so far. So much suspense and mystery and lots of questions regarding Jade and her past. And then Garrett's family. So much secrecy and danger happening. But damn, Jade has Garrett right at her side. He's SUCH a SWOONY and perfect guy! Damn!

I'm so eager to see what happens next in their journey. Jade really grows up a lot between the first and second book. She annoyed me in the beginning. Her constant insecurities was enough to wanna throw my kindle out the window. For God's sake, just accept that you want this...and go for it. Stop saying the opposite of what you mean and quit fucking confusing the poor guy. Geez, Garrett had a lot more patience and tolerance than I would've. I admire the shit out of him. Seriously! The way she kept pushing him away and insulting him all the time was just irritating. I started to get angry with her and curse her out...

But then we learn the truth behind it all and I started to see why she was the way she was. I understood better, though it still irritated me to no end, that Garrett had to constantly convince her of his feelings when he repeatedly proved his love for her. It was just a neverending cycle. But she started to let up a little and admit some truths and I felt assured that she would shut the hell up and accept her mutual feelings for him. So I pray to God that that is settled for the rest of the series. I don't wanna hate the heroine the whole time. But I think Garrett would save me from quitting this series because he's just...he's...no words. I just love his total package; heart, body and love for Jade. The way he stands by her in spite of the differences between his family life style and her very different life style.

I love Harper. She's an awesome best friend for Jade. I'm glad she has her to lean on and confide in for girl stuff. I can't wait to see more of her and I hope she and Sean work out for the long haul.

I hate Blake and that's all I have to say about that drunken dickwad. I hope he chokes on a bone.

Seriously, this series is just rockin' my world. There's PLENTY of sexy steamy times. Those two are just so awesome! I just hope Jade learns to shut the hell up and accept that good things can happen to good people. And that they can last...unless you're a negative nuisance. In which case, she doesn't deserve someone like Garrett. (Ah, I can't stop swooning and sighing and smiling like an idiot over this guy).

The pool scenes are hot, in both books so far. I love that Garrett's a swimmer. Hello sexy!! I love that they have those traditions a couple times a week. I love that they have the movie marathons in his dorm room all the time. I love that Garrett is creative and thoughtful and persistent and sweet and romantic and and and...HOT! Okay, see? I'm just rambling on about this guy. I. Love. Garrett!!!!

Anyway, I'll end this senseless review here. But I'm so excited to keep reading this series. I'm very excited. And can't wait to swoon and sigh and smile some more. I highly recommend this series. Oh can I say, I love these covers!!! Every one of them are hot! Especially Garrett, which is his pov of the first book. I wish all these books were dual. But it doesn't matter, I love them anyway. I see enough of Garrett to be completely smitten with him. I just neeeeed Jade to quit being a silly Sally or something Sally...whatever the hell that expression is.

Off to bed and then I continue this series because I'm HOOKED!

I started this one as soon as I finished the last one, but it took me a little bit to write this review because of the situation that it put me in. Before I begin I need to say something. This book needs to have "TRIGGER WARNING" in the synopsis. There is a situation that happens that caused me to turn off my kindle and start sobbing... while at work. Because I had a flashback of memories that occurred. I almost didn't finish it because of that. But I went back to the book a couple days later, skipped a whole chapter, and was okay.

And now for the review!

This book is all the drama, which is why I love this series so much. I'm more investing in the characters by this point, so I was devouring this story (until it got to the trigger I mentioned). I have fallen for this couple, and every time they get through something that was supposed to push them apart - it makes me just love them more. And there's this quote, which is hilarious:

"Very descriptive prose. Truly expresses her love of pastries. Makes me want a donut."

There's some more family related issues that kept me gripping the edge of my seat, waiting to see what would happen. It's definitely a page turner. The main issue I had, I liked how Jade handled the situation. It was because of that I was able to finish this story. And I'm glad, else I'd have missed this fabulous quote:

"I’m wasting all the moments I have with Garret worrying about something that might never happen. Maybe we’ll be together forever. Maybe we won’t. It doesn’t matter. All that matters is right now."

I do plan on reading the next book in the series, but I'm not as excited for it as I was when I finished the last two. It's still a great series, and I do recommend it.

A solid 3 star for an engaging read.

I read Choosing You about a week ago and I really liked it despite the almost plain, slow pace. It ended on a cliffhanger and were it to be an episode of a show, there would be a ‘To be continued’ caption. This book picked up right from the ending of the previous book and it continued the plain, slow paced storyline. I admit, I was a little frustrated but I ploughed on, because I need to know the answers to the mysteries.

First of all, I almost lost it with Jade. Her insecurity and the way she handled her relationship with Garrett made me want to scream at her but thankfully Garrett always beats me to it. The way that he handled the situation with Jade was the only thing that prevented me from leaving it unfinished. In one way I can relate to her but her mood changes so often, one minute not able to imagine life without Garrett the next wanting to break up with him. I get it. But I can’t help but feel frustrated at her every time this comes up. I read a lot of books where the main characters faced this dilemma but still able to make the situation tolerable. Jade is barely tolerable. Thank goodness for Garrett.

“Don’t laugh at the old lady,” he kiddingly scolds once we’re in the hallway.

Isn’t there a word that can be used to replace ‘kiddingly scolds’? It sort of rubbed me the wrong way. I’m not even sure I ever encountered a sentence like this. Maybe it’s just me but this is not the only sentence that I had to read twice to make sure it felt right.

And now the highlight of the book, the unveiling of the mystery man behind the phone calls and threats to Jade. It’s predictable and everything seemed to make sense. I wish there was more drama but I’ll take what it gives. The mystery man is exactly who I thought it was but when I came to the part where they confronted him, I felt like it's missing the tension between him and Jade.

For me, this is a plain yet engaging read. Engaging, not necessarily great. What I like about this book is even as Jade keeps doubting herself, the people around her always try to put sense into her. I am a sucker for sweet male lead and Garrett definitely fit in the profile. The mysteries just added the drama to this story and I’m glad I finally got my answer.

But! The ending shows that there is another book in this series and I'm trying to figure out what's next. Maybe it's a continuity, maybe it's a fast forward to the future. Anyways, I think I'm going to read whatever book next (if it interests me).

***Please note there will be spoilers for Choosing You in this review***

Knowing You is book two in this fantastic series, Jade. I loved reading Choosing You, I was so addicted to it that I needed to find out what happened with Garret and Jade next. Jade’s character is fabulous, with so much potential and need. I love Garret too though and excited to read book three, Loving You.

Jade Taylor is still trying to recover from the drama of Garret Kensington’s father’s relationship rules. Jade is worried that he won’t grow a pair and finally stand up to his father. But with the letter still around, the secret of who her biological father is is still haunting her. Will Jade get rid of the letter?

Garret has discovered a way to get his father to loosen the reins on the couple’s relationship, but at what cost? Garret doesn’t want to pretend any more to date one of the high society girls and takes Jade to a political fundraiser. It is a very Cinderella moment for her, a beautiful dress, Jade’s friend did her hair and makeup and she just felt beautiful and desirable.

Jade isn’t safe alone any more, still being threatened over that letter. Jade is determined to keep it as a reminder that her mother did in fact love her. Frank (her guardian) isn’t well and can’t afford for her to go home for Thanksgiving. Garret’s father suggests Jade stays at their mansion with Garret the whole time. His family are going away, so it will be just the two of them and the chef. What mischief can they get up to?

When Frank has a fall, everything is touch and go for a while. Garret buys plane tickets for them both to check on Frank and in his deliriousness, starts talking about strange things. Can Jade work out if there is any truth to it?

Can they discover who is threatening Jade? Who is her father? Will Jade ever truly be safe? Can Garret and Jade have a normal relationship?

Follow the journey of Garret and Jade’s determination to be together. Watch as they search for pieces of Jade’s puzzled life and try to put them all back together; discover what true love is and no matter the consequences protect each other. This series is so very addictive, I cannot put them down once I start. Jade is such a wonder, so fun but heartfelt and Garret, who can’t love him… I highly recommend this series to all new adult readers, this series has something for everyone.

I love the reading this book. The story had many shocking revelations, even though I guessed one of them earlier on, which made the pages fly and before I knew it I had reached the end. I love how sweet and understanding Garret is, he's almost too good but not quite. Jade definitely has trust issues, but I'm glad that she is working on them. The ending was very surprising and I can't wait to read the next book.

Favorite Quotes

“‘It’s because you’re not running from stuff anymore.’ He cups my cheek and wipes the remaining tears off my face with his thumb. ‘You’re dealing with it.’ ‘I don’t want to deal with it. Dealing with it sucks.’ ‘I know it does. But sometimes life sucks and you just have to deal with it.’ It’s true. But it’s not fair. I’ve already dealt with enough in 19 years. I can’t deal with any more.”
Why I Picked It Up

I absolutely adored the first novel and HAD to know what happened with Jade and Garret!

Plot

Knowing You continues the story of Jade and Garret. The letters and phone calls that Jade has been getting are still coming, and eventually someone ransacks her dorm room. This is followed by a wide array of events that I can’t even mention because they include major spoilers.

This novel was even better than the last one! All of the things with the mystery caller comes to a head with events that I couldn’t see coming. Out of all of the things that happened, I could only see one of them coming, and even then I was iffy about it. This novel definitely has the ability to surprise its reader. In addition to that, there were scenes where the suspense had my heart pounding in fear. It was able to induce emotions that I haven’t felt in a while when reading a novel.

Leading Lady

“I’m Jade, the sarcastic, independent, smart ass who has no interest in marriage or weddings or rings or any of that stuff. And yet my stupid heart skips a stupid beat when that stupid boy tosses out the idea that someday he might marry me.”
Jade continues to be the tough girl that I loved in the previous novel, maybe even more so in this novel. Jade is under a lot of duress, especially in the last few chapters of this novel, but she handles it amazingly, given what she is experiencing. Her strength to deal with things shines through more than anything in this installment of the series.

Leading Male

“‘What do you think of this one?’ He’s pointing to the house next to him; a white two-story with black shutters. ‘It’s nice, I guess.’ ‘You don’t like it. Okay, we’ll keep looking.’ ‘What are you talking about?’ ‘I was trying to find us a house. You like this neighborhood, right?’ ‘We’re not looking for houses, Garret. We’re 19. So stop it. You’re freaking me out.’ He catches up to me. ‘That’s why I said it. It’s funny to watch you get so freaked out by the idea of a future with me.’ He pauses. ‘Well, I guess it’s not that funny.’”
Garret was definitely a staple in this novel. At this point, he’s gotten his dad to back off of him and Jade, which I really loved. He went to some pretty extreme measures to do it, and I loved him for it. He still had things to deal with, but it wasn’t nearly as big of a plot line. But what he did do was support Jade with what was going on, taking on the role of her protector, which was definitely a plus in my book!

Romance

“‘Yeah, I got the hint,’ I say, laughing. ‘Goodnight.’ He kisses me. ‘I love you, Jade.’ He waits for me to say it back but I can’t do it. I can’t keep getting closer to him. I need to start pulling away from him. I let myself get far too deep into this and now I need to get out, even though my heart is screaming at me not to.”
Jade and Garret’s relationship in this novel is more established than it was in the previous novel. It was nice to actually see them together and working toward the same thing. They were as cute as ever, but the romance wasn’t as focused on in this novel as it was in the previous novel due to all of the stuff with Jade and her stalker/caller. But it definitely was present in this novel and of what we did see, it was adorable.

Conclusion

Knowing You was another great addition to the Jade series. It promptly continues the story where Choosing You left off and was filled to the brim with unpredictable happenings. It’s definitely worth the read.

Okay- this series has officially been moved to my all-time favorites list. I wasn't lying when I said I simply CANT GET ENOUGH Garret and Jade.

Those two are perfect. Just so damn perfect in their imperfections. They are so cute and funny and adorable and sexy and smart and fun and humble and sweet and I could just go on and on but I shall restrain myself...

Other than being 100% in love with the main couple of this book I also have to sing the praise of the secondary characters... I loved them all... From the Kensingtons cook (he was a peach!) to Harper and her new BF, Frank and Ryan, Lily and now even Mr Kensington!! I know, who'd a thunk it?!!!??

This story was a continuation of where we left off in book 1, and every bit as, if not more, juicy. I was so intrigued! The author knows how to balance the normal, but sweet everyday things the characters do with the exciting and thrilling aspects this story has so well. I loved the flow, and the plot! The twist, though I had suspected it, still got me soooo giddy when revealed.

As stated, this is now one of my fave series... It's going to be so much fun to reread later on. I just love all the cute little quips and scenes and then I'm soooo into the roller coaster ride of thrills it has me on!!

This book didn't end in a cliffy the way the first did, but it also didn't wrap up what happens with Garret and Jade. There are 2 more books to complete their story, so I am so excited to move onto the 3rd. I hope the author keeps up some of the thrills, and it's not just like people trying to break them up...because the formula that's used in the first 2 books has been perfect!!

This book is better than the first one. Jade gets closer to Garret, way closer. She also is starting to open up to Harper. A girl she met in book 1, but didn't really want to befriend. The suspense in this book is even greater. A lot of Jades past comes out and she finds out the truth about who her father is. My heart hurts for Jade, Garrett puts himself before her and gets hurt in the process. I had to force myself not to cry. Garrets dad becomes less controlling and accepts Jade. His bitch wife Katherine is so fake and catty still. I hate her! I love Garret even more in this book. It does get a little steamy between Garret and Jade...yum. Great 2nd book :-)

I didn't know what to expect with this series but I am so pleasantly surprised!! I love this story so far. Some parts I just want to kick Jade because its like "COME ON!!!" "REALLY!??" But it always works itself out. This was a great read!! I love stories that are just that...stories!! Not just about the relationship and then something bad happening between the couple and them making up and being a happy couple again...this is kind of everything...I love the relationship, but the story that goes with it is so good! And the suspense!! Thats been really enjoying as well. I'm really looking forward to reading book three, Loving You! :)

Sweet conclusion to a sweet romance

I read the first book and decided to hold off reviewing till I finished the second book. The first book ends on a cliffhanger so you need to read both to really get the whole story.

The story is well written, editing is done well, characters are likeable, main character has quirks and idiosyncrasies that keep her from being 2 dimensional.

There are a lot of genres under the romance genre umbrella. From dark romance to enemies to lovers, friends to lovers, mafia and fantasy etc... they also vary in terms of steam level.

This is a friends to lovers, insta-love on the part of the main male character, not an aggressive alpha-male, very respectful and clear consent established every time, fade to black type sex scenes story. This means very little detail when they do have sex if any at all. And no sex until the second book.

The main male character is a "Pollyanna" type personality, perfect and kind and attentive and persistent and emotionally aware and outside of being a little weak initially, it's hard not to love him.

There are two storylines, one is their budding friendship/romance and the other is the mystery and danger surrounding the main female characters parentage.

Over all this was a nice, lightweight, sweet, story. One that I think high schoolers or people who are uncomfortable with eroticism in books would enjoy.

I can't get enough of this series. It's not perfect, but these books are just so addictive.

This installment takes all of the high points of the first book -- the characters' chemistry, the dangerous mystery, the narrator's complicated inner monologue -- and improves on almost every single one of them. All of these aspects are turned up at least a few notches, making this book hard to put down.

My favorite part of this novel was Jade and Garrett's relationship. After spending the majority of the first novel just getting to know each other and understand what makes each other tick, the couple is free to explore their chemistry. I won't give anything away, but their scenes together in this book are so much better than the first.

My only real complaint about this installment is how often Jade cycles through the same thought processes. As someone with anxiety, I know what it's like to ruminate on thoughts and be misled by falsities. However, many times, it seems like Jade doesn't even try to fight her negative thoughts, even when she knows she has encountered them and they've been disproved previously. Honestly, this novel would've been considerably shorter had all of her redundant ruminating thoughts been pared down.

While this book was by no means perfect, I can't wait to start the third installment.

** 4 Stars ⭐⭐⭐⭐ **

Jade was a very complex damaged girl yet I still liked her very much. Garret I liked him better here. He was everything I wanted him to be in Choosing You. However, I have to confess that I did not appreciate the whole twist that he had dated her half sister. And I know it is a double standard because when the 'switch' is between brothers or even a father, I do not have a problem with it. This is a flaw I will try to overcome in the future. Despite this, I enjoyed Knowing You, it was a great read.

Such a great book! The dialogue didn’t seem forced. There were also A LOT of plot twists! Some of them didn’t seem realistic at all, but they made the story more interesting. Garrett seemed to really mature, which was refreshing!

The only thing I didn’t like was that Jade had so many moments of pushing Garrett away. In the first book, it made sense because they were still getting to know each other. Plus, Jade had a hard past. But by now, she should have more trust.

Still, I loved the book! I can’t wait to read the next book in the series!

ARC Review of Fight For Us by Allie Everhart (Book 2 of the Jade Series)
* * * * *
More craze and drama continues and hooks you in this series! You thought it was over? Not by a long shot!
The secret organisation is still planning, secrets are growing in the dark rather than come to light, and there is a new member to the game.
Can Garrett and Jade fight for each other now when all seems lost?

Jade and Garret are growing more and more personally as well as an couple. There is still room for growth, but they are on the right path. However, it is still not an easy road for them. Secrets are revealed, however, in return there is also more mystery. And maybe some secrets are better kept secrets… Jade does not only grow closer to Garret, but also gets closer with Harper. Their friendship starts to blossom and it felt so SO real. I started to love Pearce, which from the first book I thought it was not possible AT ALL. The book still has a good amount of romance, is funny and there is enough mystery and angst to keep on reading.
