The Plume #1-3

The Plume: The First Anthology

Rate this book
This anthology includes the first three novellas in this series: Submission, Surrender and Seduction. It’s available in both a digital and a trade paperback edition.

Welcome to the Plume - where members are bound by desire and fantasies come true.

This anthology includes the first three Plume novellas:

SUBMISSION: Lifestyle reporter Joanna is prepared to do whatever is necessary to get the story about the notorious private club known as the Plume – even apply for membership. Rex will do anything to protect his club and the privacy of his membership – and he isn’t adverse to teaching Joanna a lesson about curiosity – and control. They both get more than expected when Joanna’s own secret desires are revealed.

SURRENDER: Mike is equally determined to forget his days of pleasure at the Plume and to win over his conservative co-worker Joanna. When he learns that Joanna plans to fulfill her sex slave fantasy within the Plume, he begs his old pal Rex to let him protect her there. Instead, Rex gives Mike to his partner, Athena, to make her fantasy come true, believing that Joanna’s surrender will ensure his own. It seems that everyone will achieve their dream except Mike, but passions don’t always run as anticipated within the Plume…

SEDUCTION: Joanna and Mike have discovered that they share a taste for bondage as well as a yearning for a committed relationship. Can they build a future together that fulfills their secret desires – or will the allure of the Plume and its pleasures prove too potent to resist? Meanwhile, it’s Christmas at the Plume and Rex is making the wishes of club members come true – including those who have been nice and those who have been naughty.

BOOK ONE - SUBMISSION
A fun, Sexy Read - Great for the BDSM literature novice - It's cute and steamy.

“Tell me I am your Master.”
“You are my Master,” she repeated.
“Beg me to begin your training.”
Her voice caught, her tone taking an note of vulnerability that drove him wild. “I beg you, Master, train me to serve your every pleasure. Please, Master. I’m yours.”
Yet another "Secret BDSM Club" Series, but I really enjoy it, and I'm a huge fan of the Author.

A reporter (Joanna) tries to join the most exclusive BDSM Club in the hopes of writing a story which will launch her career... Only to discover the dark desires hidden within herself.

All of the books contain the perspectives of multiple characters...
Outsiders,
Insiders,
Tops,
Bottoms,
Club Owners,
Members,
Etc...

Its's a lot of fun, and the first book is FREE, so check it out.

Some of My Favorite Moments:

BOOK TWO - SURRENDER
Deeper into the Plume, a more through examination of the debauchery within and the people who revel in it...

She wanted that sweet sense of being flooded by futility, of being out of control.
Captive to pleasure.
She knew that this wasn’t about writing a more in-depth article. It wasn’t about learning the truth. It wasn’t even about getting the pictures the Master had taken of her.
It was about discovering her own desires, secret urges that she’d never explored before entering the Plume.
Joanna wanted more.
Joanna gives herself up for two weeks at the mercy of The Plume in order to train as a submissive.
Mike runs back to the Plume's lifestyle in order to get closer to her, but Rex is doing everything in his power to keep them apart. Rex thinks he is in love with Joanna... Athena thinks she can keep Mike satisfied...

In the end ... But his is only the beginning for the whole gang...

Some of My Favorite Moments:

BOOK THREE - SEDUCTION
Merry Christmas from The Plume!

She bit her lip, thinking about a permanent relationship with one man and master.
A perpetual captivity.
And a complete secret.
The notion made her shudder with delight—and hope.
Mike and Joana discover they can balance a relationship and endless pleasure outside the walls of The Plume...
An old flame comes back to haunt Athena...
And Rex gets a very special hand-wrapped present...

I got this as a kindle freebie on Amazon - good thing, I'd have hated to have paid for it. The characters seemed too stilted and there was no connection to them. Joanna is a journalist who's hungry for that one story that will catapult her into the big leagues and worms her way into The Plume, an exclusive club specializing in very particular tastes. It is cliched and there's no emotional connection with her or the other characters. It was okay for mindless reading but not very satisfying.

This makes Fifty look like a children's book! Long on BDSM, short on romance. Definitely not for the faint of heart!

I bought this a while back & decided to reread the series.

Johanna is a reporter who wants to write a story about a private club called The Plume, so she applies for membership. Mike is a coworker (who used to be a member in this club) & he wants to protect Johanna during her stay there. They end up discovering that they share some of the same desires.

There are a few side stories (Rex, Tess, & so on), but this book is mainly about Johanna.

I don’t like that “beauty was an unstated pre-requisite for membership” - this seems wrong on so many levels (it’s mentioned more than once that this is a fact)... There’s also the picture taking, which is threatened to be used if she publishes something they don’t like. Limits are asked for, then ignored (like using a gag). There also doesn’t seem to be a safe word, either.

It was interesting to read, but this book seems to disregard the safety measures that should have been put in place.

This was ok. I'm not really into slave sex, so it was a bit of a no go for me. But I did enjoy the relationships in the book and how they'd all play out

Can’t stand writers who have only the first book on iBooks.
Can’t finish the series so I didn’t even bother to read the book.

An interesting collection with some sizzling scenes. The characters were well defined and their motivations and desires well thought out. I was disappointed to find a few typos, which should have been caught in editing, but all in all a good quick sexy romp!

If you want straight up BDSM you may enjoy this. The female character is supposedly very straight edge and strong willed, but she willingly gets into situations that leave her at everyone else's mercy. It didn't ring true, and some of the sex just wouldn't happen easily, no matter how "turned on" she was. I thought she was an idiot, and when her secret fantasy man and herself finally got together all it was, was BDSM, no tenderness, no declarations of long term interest, just me master you slave. Supposedly she knew the master, but didn't recognize him as he did her immediately. There were times I thought we were finally going to get some plot, something, but no, just more sex. I received this for an honest opinion.

This was a well-written, entertaining collection of three novellas. Joanna is a reporter determined to write a story about the private club, The Plume. Master Rex won't let her in unless she participates for real, and she finds herself unexpectedly intrigued by what she experiences. She is also surprised to find that her hot co-worker, Mike, knows about The Plume. These stories were sexy and arousing and I am interested in reading more. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book, and my comments here are my honest opinion.

The Plume: The First Anthology by Ella Ardent contains three novellas that are put together in this anthology.
I stumbled upon this book through Amazon with it being a free book. I decided to dive into it while on vacation. I was in the need of a true BDSM story, that others before it had been lacking.
This story is about a journalist on the hunt for the story.Joanna apply's for admission to this super secret club, however the owner, Rex will do anything to keep his club private. These short stories start with ex's attempting to teach Joanne a lesson in Submission in order to scare her off the story. It does the exact opposite, causing Joanne to realize that she is a submissive at heart and that what Rex is giving her is what she desires.
These short stories, put together into this anthology is HOT! I devoured this first book, and will plan on reading the other two anthologies that complete this series. The writing is fluid and draws the reader into the character development. I loved this book! 5 Stars

I gave this a 6/10 or 3 stars overall. This was a freebie via Amazon that I read on my Kindle.

I enjoy the odd erotic read occasionally and this one fit the bill nicely. Joanna and Mike work together. Joanna has heard of the notorious Plume club, an underground erotic club that tailors towards peoples sexual desires and needs.

Joanna is keen to do an article on the club and does all she can to get her foot through the door. Little does she know that Mike was previously involved with the club and is quite intimate with both Rex and Athena, who are the owners of the club.

With many erotic passages throughout the three novellas that make up this anthology with various scenarios, they flesh out the story well.

I enjoyed the anthology and might read further stories in this series in the future.

This is definitely for the over 18 market due to the nature of the eroticism in it.

This is a trilogy of three shorter works and it suffers a little for that. Having said that, they wouldn't have been as satisfying individually.

For my taste is a bit too focused on BDSM. I found the coincidences of the setup slightly hard to swallow and some of the fetishes, especially the corsetry in the last part unnecessary and off-putting. My other main criticism is that the female lead's sudden and complete conversion to BDSM felt too fantasy.

Overall, however, the characters were likeable had enough depth (just) to be engaging and the hot scenes were well written and certainly not cringe-worthy.

If you have more BDSM fantasy than me you'll thoroughly enjoy it!

This is an interesting story about a secret BDSM club. Don't read this if you don't like that lifestyle because that is what this book is primarily about.

Joanna, Mike, Rex and Athena are good strong characters and I look forward to seeing how their relationships develop in the next anthology.

This is well written, moves along at a nice pace, has enough description to be able to picture the people and the scene. It lost one star from me as the editing was slightly out at times.

All in all, a good read that I would recommend.

Joanna tries to infiltrate The Plume, a secretive BDSM club for a story that she hopes will further her journalist career. To her astonishment, she finds that she adores relinquishing control to her Master. Then she discovers that the coworker she has secretly had a crush on for years is into the same lifestyle. As always, Ms. Ardent's writing is beautiful, her descriptions wonderful. A copy of this book was provided to me with no requirements for a review. I voluntarily read this book and my comments here are my honest opinion.

I read 1-3 all at the same time so I'm going to review all three at once. The stories are really, very well done. There is great pacing to the stories and great character development. Im looking forward to the rest of the installments in the series.

I didn't rate it because I DNF at 15%. There wasn't anything wrong with the book specifically; it just didn't grab my attention. Right now, I have so many books on my to-read shelf, if a book doesn't suck me in, I move on.

The Plume

I was expecting more of a story line, it was interesting but the characters needed more work. The Plume didn't impress me at all.
