"When Life Gives You Lemons, Throw Them Back and Scream, "Limes, Motherf&%$er, I Want Limes!"

It's not my quote but I live by it. *rebel*. Music and writing are my everything. Music influences everything that I do and write about. Without books and music, I could not breathe.

That's me in a nutshell.

And wine. Can't live without that either.

Amazing story.

This book was fabulous!! I loved Rayshawn and Jaicyn’s relationship. My biggest frustration was Rayshawn being too naive. He needed to listen Jaicyn more, she was definitely the brains. Every time she tried to warn him he would just brush her off. The ending was magnificent!

A promise is a promise

Great book and the continuous flow from book 1 is what makes this a must read. Prepared to read the next chapter of this infamous couple.

Review from Ari of Divas Read Too
THIS BOOK WAS BETTER THAN THE FIRST ONE!
In case you haven’t read the first one (if you haven’t, I don’t understand why not. Get it together) I won’t give away the ending, but this one picks up 3 years after the end of the last book. Jaicyn and Rayshawn are doing well and have moved from their hometown to Atlanta. However, it appears that they were duped into thinking that life in Atlanta would be so much better. I like the fact that Jackie doesn’t give us a play-by-play account of what happened during those 3 rough years. She touches on some events that have occurred so you don’t feel like you’ve missed anything, but the present is more important than the past.
Presently, Jaicyn and Rayshawn are operating a major drug operation. They are big time dealers like King expected them to be. Jaicyn is even running her own separate crew, although Rayshawn is still her boss…technically. Like the first book, the drugs isn’t the focus of the story. It’s like you know what they do and occasionally it comes up, but it’s not all they do. As Rayshawn says, it’s a means to an end.
As much as I liked Jaicyn before, I really like her now. She still has all the same qualities that you either love or hate. She’s stubborn, selfish, and loud. She’s making money now and she’s trying to branch out into new ventures. After all, she doesn’t want to be a drug dealer all her life. We also get to see how much she’s grown in the 3 years she’s been in Atlanta. She’s quicker to recognize her faults and admit when she’s wrong. Jackie is showing us the nurturing and motherly side of Jaicyn. Rayshawn’s character has grown too. We really get a look at how far he is willing to go to protect his family.
At first, it seems like everything is going perfect for Jaicyn and Rayshawn, like nothing can go wrong and they are invincible. Soon, we realize that their lifestyle is starting to catch up with them. No one sells dope for as long as they have without facing some consequences. It’s these consequences and how they manage them that make this such a good book.
This is one of those rare books that keeps you on the edge of your seat. The character development is extraordinary. The plot is focused and well thought out. The dialogue is engaging. It’s everything you want in a book and everything you didn’t know you wanted in a book and then some.

Jackie Chanel’s, A Hustler’s Promise 2, is the sequel to the highly recommended novel A Hustler’s Promise. Characters Jaicyn and Rayshawn pick up their lives and take Atlanta by storm as the Prince and Princess of the drug game. The power couple has to decide how to keep one another happy, their family together and trouble from exploding in their faces, all the while maintaining a universal front. This duo is attacked with blinding forces trying to sever the promise’s they made to one another, wondering if their love will withstand the turmoil in the end.

I absolutely LOVED both of the books. Ideally, I am not a fan of sequels considering my expectations are usually traumatized when the storyline lets me down, however, Chanel made me a believer that sequels can do the original justice. I laughed, I cringed, and I even spoke out loud while reading this book. I used every emotion available, being mesmerized and captivated by the author’s style of writing. The only flaws I can honestly pinpoint were some misspelled words, but even that didn’t deter me from this page turner.

Overall, I rate the book a 4 for being outstanding. I love a good urban tale and it’s even better when I can relate to the storyline. This was truly a great piece of work, and although I am a huge fan of the book, I hope there isn’t a 3rd. I loved the way the author ended this book and I believe that she did the characters justice by doing it this way. I definitely would recommend these novels to anyone that is a fan of great writing and I look forward to checking out any other work by Chanel.

Whew...where oh where do I begin this review. There are so many emotions that I would like to express.

This is part two of " A Hustler's Promise" by Jackie Chanel. It begins a few years after the events of part one. Jaicyn and Rayshawn have re-located to Atlanta. They are on top of the world and riding the success of the drug empire they helped to run...but they will soon learn that everything must come to an end and everybody isn't always who they seem to be. When the dust settles and clears, will Jaicyn and Rayshawn be able to stay together...or will promises be broken?

"A Hustler's Promise 2" showed the growth of two characters we have grown to know and love.Jaicyn and Rayshawn, as well as the other characters, were very believable. I loved the plot and storyline. I laughed, I got mad, I cried. I loved this story and if I could I would give it 20 stars! It was just that good. I would love to see more of Autumn and Dayshawn (hint, hint) lol. I agree with everyone else as far as paying more than the 99 cents that we paid. Can't wait to se ewhat else Jackie Chanel has in store.5 stars!

Wow, I have no idea where to begin. I absolutely love this book. By far the best book I have read in a while. I fell in love with the characters. When I was reading this book I was so engulfed wishing and hoping for the characters. Rayshawn, Yesss, I am his number 1 fan. Jaicyn was a straight up strong diva who was loyal to the max. This book is by far unpredictable. You would think the book is going to go one way and then turn to be another way. Absolutely gooood. This is a must read :) You did your thang on this one Jackie :)

YAZZZZ! This was an excellent sequel! I was glad to see Jaicyn calm down, listen to her man and want to give up "that life"! I couldn't stand how it seemed like the world was turning against them but that was what was good about it because it drew out those emotions. The book showed that you can have it all and lose it all and still have even moe devastation happen but come out clean in the end. I look forward to more from this author!

Ok so the first book was good but the second part was awesome. Jaicyn and Rayshawn was like a ghetto love story. I absolutely love them in this book. They are both so young but at the same time very determined. They will not stop until they get what they want. I have to say that I was crying crocodile tears at the end. Jackie Chanel did a wonderful job with both part one and two. A well written book by a great author. I look forward to reading more from her.

I truly loved this book. This was a thug love story. The way Jay Jay and Rayshawn argued and made up, fought the outside world together and apart, love eachother and their family I was routing for them to finally be out the game and live quietly. You will not be disappointed with this sequel. This book started off where it left off in book one and took us home happy.
