To start I will say that I really don’t like the cover of this book, I don’t like the colour and I don’t like the model that was used. Yes, that is my personal opinion and I know I am being really picky and others may not agree, but the cover of a book makes a huge difference to me. The cover helps me to visualise the character and every time I imagined Dash I kept coming up with this image which ruined it for me. A book cover often has a huge influence as to my decision to read or not, and if it hadn't have been for the fact that this was written by Lori Foster I would have easily by-passed it, which would have been such a shame as it is definitely well worth reading!

I had always liked Dash and was looking forward to his story. From the previous books we knew Dash had the hots for police lieutenant Margaret (Margo) Peterson, his brother’s superior officer. Margo is a strong, independent and tough woman who is extremely good at her job and is determined to weed out the bad cops in the department, needless to say this has made her extremely unpopular. Because she is a woman she feels that she has to be stronger, work harder and project the kick-ass image at all times. Dash is the quiet Alpha male, he understands and respects the position Margo is in and why she must be that person that everyone else sees, but he also sees the woman inside and he wants her. He will submit to her expertise and allow her to make decisions when it comes to police work, but in the bedroom it is Margo who must submit to his expertise. In the past Margo has refused to allow any man to take control but there is something about Dash that she cannot resist, she melts like butter whenever he is near and cannot wait to get to the sexual antics in the bedroom, or wherever they may be!

Dash of Peril takes off from where Getting Rowdy finishes. Margo is still working on the case trying to catch the group who are kidnapping woman, drugging them, tying them up and raping them to make porno movies. The bad guys realise that Margo is a problem that they need to eliminate and attempt to kill her and in trying to help her Dash becomes a target too.

Lori Foster is an auto-buy author for me and it is easy to see why. She tells a fantastic story which keeps you interested to the extent it is hard to put it down and I read this in a short space of time. If you have been reading the love undercover series then this is a must, if you haven’t, and you like/read Romantic Suspense then it’s time to start!

In this Lori has penned yet another winner!

2.5 Estrellas!

Name of Patient: Paige Turner
Name of Physician: Paige "it'sfuckingme" Turner

Paigeis a 19- year old reviewer who has been diagnosed with Schizophrenia. The diagnosis explains her symptoms of persistent and worsening delusions that vampires, dragons, mermaids and fairies are real and only Kristen Ashley's heroes can make her go sane. This has been going on for the past years as the patient excessively spends her time as a reader. Paige has also experienced symptoms of disorganized thinking (speech) especially when a hot alpha hero (plus points if it’s a shapeshifting dragon) is mentioned in the books that she is reading. Nausea and vomiting happens whenever she encounters a fuckward character.

Paige has become more depressed and withdrawn since finding out that the book she was dying to read,Dash of Peril did not reach her expectations. In particular, she is very anxious about the possibility that the love development between the two characters were too abrupt and needs to be explored. She also thinks that the story focused more on Dash and Margo's love story and seeing that she's a savage person, she wants more action and drama. Although symptoms of depression and anxiety are not uncommon to readers waiting for their awaited books, Paige has a history of feeling melancholy following the books that she read are a total soul sucking depressing books. Paige's response to her current illness needs to be understood in this context, as it will help to assess how well she will cope with the forthcoming diagnosis and future management of her illness.

Upon Paige's mental state examination, Paige exhibited sullen appearance and limited facial expression (which is totally understandable, seeing she just finished watching the MayPac Fight ). Her history of reader slump in conjunction with her recent history of poor choices in books, sleep disturbance, energy loss, reduced concentration and feelings of guilt that she has to dnf-ed some books indicate that Paige is prone to developing a major depressive disorder in response to her current medical condition.

Highly recommended the following:

1. Read another book (probably light, humorous chicklit or a Kristen Ashley or a Kelly Oram book).

2. It is also highly imperative that the patient must eat some chocolate ice cream and a whole box of pizza.

3.It also won’t hurt if she stalks some hot guys on Tumblr..

If condition worsened, kindly club the patient with a Harry Potter book in the end. The heavier the better....

4 Make Me Beg for It Stars!!

Sooooo....I was super excited to read my ARC No Limits which is Cannon Colter (introduced in LF's "Love Undercover" series) book. I get about 5% in and realize I'm lost because I neglected unintentionally to read this book!! My only excuse is it fell off my radar with so many great books out there to read.....you ALL know what I'm talking about!!

This was a great ending to the series, I honestly didn't think I would enjoy it as much as I did only because Margo & Dash were not really on my radar....and that's only because Reece (Bare It All) and Rowdy (Getting Rowdy) were so damn Smokin' Alpha Hot I didn't think Dash could hold a candle. I should never had doubted Lori Foster!!

Margo is a tough as nails Police Lt, nothing rattles this kick ass heroine. I had a hard time relating to her in the beginning of the book and I think that's because I tend to gravitate towards heroine's who are waiting for their "Night in Shining Armor" to come along kick some bad guy ass and save the day. Once I got to know Margo and understand her and the emotional abuse she suffered as a young girl my worped view of her instantly changed.

Dash is a laid back contractor who's brother Logan (Run the Risk) is a Detective who works with Margo. Once again to my chagrin I underestimated Lori Foster by thinking because Dash had never came across as an Alpha (we all know how much I LOVE my Alpha's) he wouldn't hold a candle to Logan, Reece, or Rowdy. I.WAS.WRONG.!!!……Dash isn't your typical Alpha, he's totally okay with Margo being kick ass and willing to take a back seat (to a certain extent) in her career and he had to prove to her that he will follow her lead when necessary. BUT when that badge comes off and their alone, holy friggin smokes he shows her who's in charge!!! And Dash is one hot teasing tamale!!!

 photo 14052059442931-2_zpsdlrvo7rr.jpg

It was fantastic catching up with Logan & Pepper, Reece & Alice, and Rowdy & Avery and we get much more of aspiring MMA fighter Cannon Colter (can't wait to start his book now!!). I have to admit once again that I let out an embarrassing fan girl squeeee when two of my LF favorites Simon "Sublime" Evans from Simon Says and Dean "Havoc" Conor from Causing Havoc had small cameos!!!

Creo que ha sido el libro mas flojo de la saga, Dash es tan protector que resulta pesado e incluso obsesivo. Por lo demas me han gustado mucho los personajes secundarios, sobre todo Connor con el que estoy muy intrigada

I received this book from Netgalley for my honest review.

I'm so happy because I was right: this book is much better than the last (Rowdy's) one! :D

I enjoyed very much Dash and his attitude towards Margo!

He kwnos what he wants and how to get it and it's a joy to read!

Margo was also interesting. Her disfunctional family with a jerk of father and alcoholic mother was exlpanation enough why she's the way she is.

Dash's understand of that was incredible. He understands Margo better than she understands herself! Great!

The less interesting part of the story was the villain(s). They were just too stereotypical. Very uninteresting. They were just plain stupid bullies.

But still the story's beauty was Dash and his intelligence and insight. An alpha male who knows when not to be alpha - WOW! A novel and very appreciated surprise!

I enojoyed reading how his behaviour throw Margo out of track. How he kept her on her toes with his unexpected actions.

That's why the book was great and why I gave it 5 stars! Great, great job!

I will surely read the next book in the series. I suppose it will be Cannon's story. But I'm afraid a little bit too... because if it is about Yvette I fear it will be more YA since she's very young. And also because she's so weak... I think Cannon deservs somebody more interesting and stronger thank her. Still, since I like Cannon very much I'll read it and hope it will be good!

I'm such a fan of both the Men Who Walk the Edge of Honor and the Love Undercover series, so obviously I was excited for Dash's book.

But I was kind of let down. Not a lot, mind you, I did enjoy it. It just wasn't as awesome as I'd hoped.

I'm having a hard time expressing why I didn't like it as much as Rowdy's, but the best way I can is that I feel the pacing was off.

The whole beginning half (yes HALF) was slow as far as plot. There was a lot (and I do mean a LOT) of sexual tension, and as far as that goes, this was brilliantly done. In fact I'd say it's Lori Foster's most sensual book yet. But that first half of the book was Dash showing Margo that he can be what she needs. And it's important, don't get me wrong, she needs this, but I was over it. It took soo long. By the second half of the book, it really picked up. This is where (pardon the cliche) the plot thickens.

Dash was such a great fit for Margo. They really compliment each other. The romance was there, but the rest of the plot wasn't really that great for me. The last half of the book felt much faster and better paced.

I'm looking forward to Canon's book next, which is the start of a new series about MMA fighting.

Dash is hot and awesome for Margo, but Rowdy is still my favorite guy in this series. I should have known that Margo had a little sub in her with her high power job. Can West have a HEA too?

Love the teaser before the book even began that Cannon is getting his own HEA with the start of a new series, and I hope there will be a bunch of hot MMA guys hanging out.

Every series must come to an end and Dash of Peril is the last book in Lori Foster’s Love Undercover series, but man what an awesome ending!

Tough as nails police Lieutenant Margaret “Margo” Peterson doesn’t have time for relationships but Dashiel “Dash” Riske has plans to make her see otherwise and while he’d never ask for the trouble they get into, he can’t help but be thankful that she needs help and he’s on hand to provide it. An amazing cast of characters, a thrilling plot line, smart dialog, and lots of sexy fun make Dash Of Peril the perfect book to round out what has been an entertaining and provocative series.

I love a strong female character who can take care of themselves and that describes Margo perfectly. I’ll admit that that when we first met her in the earlier books I was a little unsure of her; I wasn’t sure if she could be trusted. Over time it became apparent she was one of the few who could be trusted and I greatly admired her strength and dedication to the force. I also found it interesting that when one of her detective’s brother was around, we got glimpses of another side of this complex woman. Dash had the uncanny ability to knock her off balance which of course did not please her so it made perfect sense that he was the man who would eventually worm his way into her life and her heart.

Dash is a man that displays a quiet strength. He’s been there to offer assistant to his crime fighting brother and his friends when needed but knows his limitations and boundaries. The one thing he is sure of is that he wants Margo like no other woman and he plans to have her despite her obvious attempts to keep him at bay.

I honestly don’t know when I’ve enjoyed a couple more than Dash and Margo. Dash is one of those heroes who is surprising because on the outside he seems pretty laid back and willing to go with the flow but with Margo he becomes this dominate alpha male willing to be whatever she needs. I love that he doesn’t let her hide anything from him, that he fully appreciates her strength, that when she’s in “police mode” he finds it sexy, and that he calms her fears and lets her be the woman she is. Seriously, Dash is a pretty awesome man and as far as I can tell he has few flaws. Margo is kind of a mess; she had a really strange and difficult upbringing, she feels that she can never let her guard down around anyone, and she thinks she needs to be in control of everything at all times. It was interesting to watch as Dash helped her to understand it was okay to lean on someone, to be cared for, and to let someone else lead. I really loved watching her figure out that with Dash she could be herself and that Dash not only accepted all of her sides but relished in bringing them out.

Dash and Margo find themselves smack dab in the middle of a messy situation. With Margo injured she is forced to let Dash help her and trust Logan, Reese, Rowdy and even Cannon to investigate the crime in which she had become a target. As with most of Ms. Foster’s book there was a lot of suspense, crimes against women, some pretty heinous acts of violence, and the threat of even more. However, and I stress this, everything in this book was used to move the plot forward and to show the reader that while there is crime everywhere there are also men and women both in uniform and out working to make the world a better place.

One last bit of kudos for this book, Ms. Foster made my year by including one of my all time favorite heroes from her SBC series in this book. It was a cameo appearance but I literally screamed when he appeared. His appearance has to do with the young man Cannon who we met in the last book and had a sizable role in this book and I can only hope that means we will once again get to see the SBC characters in her upcoming series.

From beginning to end of both this book and this series author Lori Foster had entertained, enlightened, educated, and thrilled us with her uncanny ability to mix suspense, sex, and love into one amazing package. Dash of Peril might be the end of this series, but we got a good look at what’s to come in her next series and honestly, I don’t know when I’ve been more excited about the start of something new!

Fantastic book. I've been looking forward to Dash's book. He is a confident but mostly laid-back kind of guy, who also has a wide protective streak. In previous books in the series his interest in Margo has become more obvious. In this one, that interest also has him getting involved in her latest case. Margo has been on the trail of men who kidnap women and force them to make pornographic movies by setting herself up as bait. Dash has been watching her and steps in to save her life when she is attacked. Margo isn't happy that a civilian has put himself in danger, but she can't get him to back off.

I loved the heat between the two of then. Their attraction is off the charts. Margo is a take charge kind of person in all ways, but Dash is able to get her to show a softer side to him. I loved seeing Margo give up some of her control to him and enjoy it. As the days went on and they were constantly together, Dash realized that Margo was exactly what he was looking for in his life. I loved seeing how quickly he accepted that he was in love with her. He "only" needed to show her that she could have both a personal and a professional life.

Margo took a lot longer. Her family was all involved in law enforcement and her father had treated her more like a boy that a girl. His attitude had her repressing her emotions and denying any kind of physical weakness, even after being wounded. She had absolutely no idea how to cope with Dash's care and concern for her. I also loved seeing her learn that it's okay to lean on someone now and then. It was a lot of fun to see her learn to trust not just Dash, but the other guys also. Some of the best scenes were when Logan and Reece saw her as something other than their tough boss.

I really enjoyed the building relationship between Dash and Margo. Dash's complete trust that Margo was fully capable as a cop didn't change the fact that he was still protective of her. He knew when to back of and let her do her job, but he also had good instincts for when he needed to stay close. Margo had the most changing to do as she learned how to trust someone other than herself. She was a bit confused by how willing she was to let Dash closer than anyone else had ever gotten. I loved some of the reactions of people to the "new" Margo.

The suspense was great as Margo got closer to catching the bad guys. Her injuries gave Dash the chance to get closer, and also put him there when things really started hopping. The main bad guys were known from the beginning and seeing what they were doing and why helped move the story along. It also gave an indication of how and why they were going to get caught. There were indications that there was more to the story than was evident at first, and there was an interesting twist at the end.

I liked seeing more of Cannon and I'm really looking forward to his story.

This is the fourth book in Foster's Love Undercover series and features Dashiel Riske and Lieutenant Margaret "Margo" Peterson. Margo is working undercover trying to find the criminals abducting women and forcing them to do pornography. She is using herself as bait and Dash Riske doesn't like that overly much. Dash has been trying to convince Margo that he can help her and he has also been trying to persuade her into bed. Margo is trying to deny Dash because she doesn't want to be seen by her underlings as a woman. She wants to remain in charge at work especially after she cleared out all the dirty cops. When Margo is in an accident and realizes that the criminals know who she is and want to stop her. Dash refuses to let her be on her own and the two get put together and of course the fireworks begin.

While I did like the main storyline of trying to find the criminals and I liked seeing Reese and Logan again I had a hard time with the main characters. I liked Margo and I liked Dash, I just didn't particularly like them together. I felt like their relationship was forced and all the teasing and such just got redundant. Also, Foster flirted a bit with a little D/s and I just feel like if you are going to do it, just commit to it or don't do it at all.

However, I am excited to see what happens with Cannon. I've liked him since he was introduced earlier in the series and I really want him to have a HEA.

Thanks to netgalley and harlequin for providing me with a copy of this book to read and review.

My Review:

This is the fourth book in the 'love undercover' a series and opens up where Margo is trying to catch some people who are kidnapping women & forcing the to film a porno. She is undercover at a bar and comes out to run into Dash, who has been looking for her. He doesn't like what she's doing, so he's hunting her down to make sure she's safe. It starts to snow, so she drives home slowly. She is T-boned by the criminals who want her dead. The accident is witnessed by Dash, who runs out to rescue her.

Margo is pretty wounded, so Dash takes care of her not wanting to leave her home alone, he stays with her. Dash has to learn to let Margo be a girl and a police lieutenant when she needs to be.

Lori Foster is just good. Can't say much more. I have never been disappointed & she pretty much has a well thought out plot. I was entertained & neglected some things just so I could finish this book & I do not feel guilty at all!! It did take me longer to get around to reviewing it though! LOL!

The fourth book in Lori Foster's Love Undercover series. Lt. Margaret Peterson is out to find the bad guys and is willing to put her life on the line. Dash Riske, brother of Logan Riske from Run the Risk, is attracted to "Margo" and is developing a protective streak towards her. But Margo is tough and she doesn't need any protection! But the baddies are after her and maybe having someone at her back isn't so bad.

I thought I had read this when I started Lori Foster's Ultimate series, but apparently I didn't. Anyway, I've read it now. I really liked the tough Margaret/Margo. She worked so hard at keeping herself independent and strong in a man's world. Dashiel/Dash was a keeper. He accepted her as she was and did not try to change her. He only wanted her to let him in.

Turned out to be a really good read and I highly recommend this series!

Dash of Peril is the 4th book in the Love Undercover series by Lori Foster. I have to say I think it’s my favorite in the series to date. I just loved Dash and I really enjoyed him and Margo together. Margo is intelligent, independent, and no-nonsense with a secret soft side. Dash is perfect for Margo and a really great hero. He is strong, protective and charming. Margo is so used to her tough Lieutenant role that she has a hard time letting loose and being herself. She slowly discovers that with Dash she can do that. He understands who she is and what she needs.

Dash of Peril is a sexy, fun and entertaining book. There is intrigue, danger and romance. The characters are likeable and complex. There is further development with the side characters, mainly Cannon whose story I’m anxiously waiting. The plot is fast paced and engaging. I thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to the next book in the series.

Dash of Peril is highly recommended for fans of romantic suspense.

This was a great addition to the Lover Undercover Series. I thought that Margo and Dash made wonderful main characters, and I really enjoyed getting to know them better and seeing their relationship develop. I liked the softer side of Margo that we saw in this book, and enjoyed the way that Dash was protective, yet acknowledged Margo's strength, intelligence, and was content to step back and let her do her job. I loved seeing the previous main characters from this series again, and enjoyed the cameo of a few characters from Foster's SBD Fighters Series.

My favorite book of the series! Margo and Dash were perfect together. he was an alpha hero without being a jerk. It was so refreshing!! He was attentive, carrying, and charming. Margo was also my favorite heroine, she was tough as nails and still so vulnerable. Of course seeing all the other favorites made me really happy. I would definitely recommend this book.

I discovered Lori Foster through the Harlequin Page on Facebook. One look at Rowdy's wide chest and muscular arms and I desperately wanted to read Getting Rowdy. Therefore, I came late to the Love Undercover Series but I have no problem with going back to read One and Two, just so I can know the entire background story. Much of what happens in the later books refers to the earlier stories but the stories are enough of a stand alone to get the gist.

I was intrigued, pretty quickly, by the plot in this book-- Lt. Margaret Peterson is close to uncovering an abduction/porn ring, even going undercover to try to get information and lure the ringleaders out. We heard a bit about this during Getting Rowdy and it continues in Dash of Peril. Peterson putting herself in harm's way puts her grave danger, and doing so gets hunky Dash Riske's blood pressure up. He's been in love with "Margo" for heaven knows how long and he's finally working his way into her heart when Margo is T-Boned by a car and then shot at.

Cue Nurse Dash, which is so endearing. I did enjoy him taking care of her, keeping her safe from herself as well as from the goons that have put a bounty on her head. As Rowdy put it, Dash is 'head over ass in love' and it shows.  I like the theme that Foster has going of this tightly knit circle of friends and family who look out for each other, take care of each other and protect each other. Dash is as much there for Margo's pleasure as he is there to make sure she is safe and not alone.

Herein lies a few of my nits with this story. I know, I know... it's a great love story but...

I don't mind a hot story and in fact, I've come to expect a modicum of bedroom gymnastics from a lot of authors. However, there was a LOT of sex in this book. And not that it was bad, but I felt the plot suffered for it. I understood that we were supposed to see Dash breaking Margo down, but after awhile, I skipped the pages and pages of nookie until I got to a part that advanced the story.  I hope Ms. Foster is not offended... I do that with a lot of books. I get it, I get it, they're hot for each other. What else happens?

Secondly... Dash was really... how do I put this? Handsy. He interfered so much with Margo and how she did her job. She's a Lieutenant. She has a job to do. She needs to demand respect among her officers. Standing behind her, rubbing her shoulders, hugging her, long meaningful kisses in front of her subordinates... really frustrated me. I really wanted Dash to get hold of his macho and let Margo do her damn job. YES, it's dangerous but Reece and Logan would never, ever let her put herself in a situation she couldn't get out of. I felt like he was stripping her of respect from her team. But, I suppose it all worked out in the end. I did get the point of what Dash was doing but I spent most of the book saying 'down boy! Geez!'

The story really picked up for me in the last 40% or so. Lots of page turning,  intriguing detective work to lure/trap/ investigate the porn ring, some high action involving Rowdy and Cannon (), a little bit of love blooming and  revelations made about Margo's father, her brother and also her Commander (which I should have but didn't see coming). This blew my socks off... what a great plot point.

I admit to being far more interested in Cannon's story, in case anyone can't tell. I've been raving about him since Getting Rowdy and I'm chomping at the bit to read his story in the fall. I'm touched by his dedication to his community and I'm interested to see where he takes his MMA career. And will Yvette be back? Don't know, but he seemed to have it bad for her. I hope he finds her again.

Don't get me wrong at all-- I have my gripes, however this is a great read. I love the conclusion and as always a hint toward the next book. I'm ready!

Dash of Peril will be available March 25th, 2014 wherever books are sold!  Pick it up!

This is the 4th and last book in the Love Undercover series by Lori Foster. Hate to see it come to the end but included in this book is a bit of a intro into her next series so that's something to be excited about. This is Dash's book the hotter that hot brother to Logan Riske from book one. We've seen him in every book but now he gets to step to the forefront and he makes his presence known in a big way. At 6'4" that's a whole lot of man. Confidence personified he meets his match with Lt. Margaret Peterson or Margo to him. She's used to being the boss until Dash shows her it's good to let that go now and then. Loved how Margo gets unwound in this book. She's a bit hard to like in the first three books so it was interesting to see how the author brings her out of that stiff and ice cold persona to a fire molten hot woman that matches Dash. There is of course some nasty criminal stuff involved in this book and Logan and Reese and Rowdy are back to help out and added is Cannon as well. Dash is of course part of this mix this time as much as Margo will let him in. For me this book has more to do with Margo than anything else. Margo had a crappy upbringing with a stern father and uncaring mother and a brother who was more like competition than big brother. Her whole life she was made to be tough and not show emotion to even know what love is. Dash has to show her he fits in her life and she can let go and he helps her learn to love. It's not a easy task but Dash is persistent and gets to the heart of Margo. I really enjoyed Margo's transformation and the insight into Dash as well. Cannon is also brought the the forefront a time or two in this book as he is the hero for of the first book in the next series by Lori Foster as she going back to her mixed martial arts. Overall a well rounded book and a great read!

Lori Foster continues her Love Undercover series following the relationship between Dash Riske (brother of Detective Logan Riske) and Lt. Margaret (Margo) Peterson. Dash's interest in his brother's boss has been alluded to in previous books, and they find themselves the central focus of this volume. They were drawn together at the end of Getting Rowdy as Margaret went undercover with Dash's help to crack a ring producing violent videos.

As threats to the independent, prickly police officer rise, Dash's protective instincts kick into high gear. Much of their story centers on her ability to adjust to depending on anyone but herself. Lori Foster has always been outstanding at portraying relationships between alpha males and strong females, but this shifts the power dynamic in favor of the heroine. It also dips lightly into the realm of dom-sub relationships.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and loved that the characters from previous entries in this series play critical roles. I wish we had a little more about Dash's life away from Margaret, but it still made for a fun read and a good addition to the series.

I received this book as an ARC in exchange for a fair review.

"Foster delivers yet again. Her fourth Love Undercover novel is a tightly plotted, cunning, clever and overwhelmingly sensual tale that will hook from the first action-packed scene. Foster's ability to break out from character stereotypes and go inside their complicated psyches makes the relationships in this story that much more intense, as every encounter turns into something unforgettable. From a well-remembered cast of series stars to the quick plot twists and slow-burning tension between characters, this is a novel that succeeds on every level". (RT Book Reviews) rated 4 1/2 stars

While I really liked Dash, I wasn't warm to Margo. Having read others before this one I was familiar with the other characters and things that had transpired. I just did not grasp them as a couple.

Lori Foster’s Love Undercover series comes to a smoking hot conclusion in Dash of Peril. If you enjoy your romantic suspense long on the romance and short on the suspense, this story is a winner.

And while it’s absolutely not necessary to have read the whole series to get totally into Dash of Peril, there is lots of input from characters previously introduced in the series that are much sweeter if you know all the players.

Although the romance starts almost as soon as the book does, this is not an insta-love story. Margo and Dash have been dancing around their attraction for each other since the second book in the series, Getting Rowdy. It’s just taken several months (and one more book) for things to reach a point where Margo is pretty much forced to acknowledge that whether or not she’s ever been taught that it is okay to need someone, she definitely needs Dash Riske, and for more than just his body in her bed.

This is where the suspense takes a second place to the romance. One of the parts of the overall story is that there used to be a LOT of corruption within the police department, a department where Margo Peterson is a detective and a lieutenant. Dash’ brother Logan is one of her trusted officers (his story was told in the excellent series starter, Run the Risk). Her other trusted officer, and Logan’s detective partner, is Reese Bareden, the human hero of Bare It All. (The canine hero is pretty awesome too!)

But Margo’s father is the retired chief of police, and we discover that there is a cloud around his retirement. (Also that Margo’s family redefines dysfunctional).

There’s a case that fuels the suspense part of the story. Someone is kidnapping and drugging young women, and raping them while filming the entire disgusting episode for amateur porn. Two women are dead, and two other women will need years to get their lives back. Margo has been hunting for the perps.

Suddenly they are hunting her. There’s a contract on her life, and the way she discovers that there is a price on her head is when someone t-bones her car, on purpose in a smash and run. Only Dash’ presence on the scene saves her from being finished off right then.

Now that Margo is wounded (a concussion, her elbow is dislocated, and seriously ouch!) she needs help. And she needs an able-bodied person to stick around until she’s healed enough to get back to work and use her gun hand.

Dash has been trying to find a way into Margo’s life since she first let him be her unofficial partner in an undercover sting on this same set of villains.

Dash takes the opportunity to help Margo figure out that she can still be the alpha cop at work while letting herself be something else on her off-duty time. And that it’s important to have some off-duty time!

But while they are redefining their surprisingly hot and inventive relationship, someone much closer to home is bringing the bad guys to Margo’s door.

Escape Rating A-: I enjoyed Dash of Peril the most of the entire series, and I liked all of them! But this one I just couldn’t put down at all. As absolutely hot and sexy as Dash seemed to be, what really made the story for me was Margo. I could identify with the woman who had to be in such control at work, and with good reason, that she had a hard time letting go in any way when she wasn’t on the job. So she let her work consume her life and her identity.

Once she lets herself admit that she has feelings for Dash, he is able to get into her life, and help her to achieve, let’s call it a better work/life balance, where before she didn’t have any balance at all.

The way in which her family dynamics are totally screwed up gave me even more sympathy for her. Lots of people wouldn’t have done half as well. But those same family dynamics help obscure the identity of one of the villains, and in a way that keeps the readers guessing until the very end.

Dash of Peril also wraps up the long-simmering tension in the police department, and in a way that provides resolution for the characters and the reader.

As an added bonus, a couple of the great guys from Foster’s SBC series make a cameo appearance, as a way of kicking off (or punching out) the beginning of her next series, starting with Cannon, Rowdy’s friend and a very appealing side-character in this series. I can hardly wait!

My Opinion:

Warfield, Ohio

We already met Margo & Dash in the previous books! Dash is Logan's brother and Margo is Logan & Reese's boss - their Lieutenant!

description

Margo is still spending her time sitting around in bars hoping she'll be able to draw out the bad guys who are abducting girls to abuse & use them for porn videos.

Finally it seems to pay off, but unfortunately they don't abduct her - they cause a car crash that leaves Margo injured and helpless waiting in her car for them to finish her off.
BUT - Dash was following her - to make sure she'll get home ok ☺

After they fight off the killers, Dash insists to move in with her - to play nurse ;)

Dash never saw Margo the way his brother and buddy did - as the stone-cold Lieutenant!
For him she's all woman. But she never seemed to want to act on their attraction - even though he could sense that there was some attraction on her side too.

But now things change ☺ she's on pain meds half the time - and they seem to turn her into a flirting, teasing, sexual being! ☺☺ And Dash is just the kind of dominant man she was waiting for - not that she would ever admit that ☺

Could a man possibly smell better than Dashiel Riske?

there will be LOTS of sexy moments ☺

description

dangerous moments too of course - it IS a romantic suspense novel ;) there will be lots of Kerosine!

and YES we will see Logan and Reese again - our favorite COPS ♥

description

and lets not forget Rowdy!!!

description

and of course we meet CANNON again ☺

description

remember him from the last book? He's a MMA fighter and some kind of self proclaimed neighborhood-protector-angel ☺
He'll get his own book in September - which will be the start of a new fighting series!!! ☺☺☺

but that's all I'm telling you ☺

description

I don't want to spoil anything for you ☺

♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥ ♥

I REALLY LOVED THE BOOK!!
Just like the first 3 books in the series - DASH OF PERIL is an extremely sexy, romantic and suspensy book.

This was an amazing romantic suspense series! I loved ALL books and more important - ALL CHARACTERS - and that's not something that happens a lot. You always find something you can't stand - but those 4 guys here and their girls are all really wonderfully written! (Cannon too of course ☺ - can't wait to read more about him!)

This book had EVERYTHING I love in a book - sexy scenes - suspensy scenes - sad and moving scenes..

Dash is soo adorably cute. The way he accepts Margo and her need to appear strong in front of her detectives.
And Margo - how she slowly comes out of her hard shell and how she's finally daring to try this love thing...

Maybe, just maybe, she could be both a woman and a lieutenant.

DASH OF PERIL is a wonderfully sexy suspense Romance!!

But please don't forget to read the first 3 books before reading Dashiel's story!

Now I can't wait for the next book - Cannon's story: No Limits - the beginning of a brand new series - coming in August 2014

Dash of Peril is the fourth instalment of the Love Undercover series by this established author and is as sexy and enthralling as ever. These books are contemporary romance suspense that feature characters in Law Enforcement and those they love. Theres a fine line sometimes between upholding the law and breaking it and these stories bring light to issues that are sometimes hidden. A fabulous way to spend a few hours and although the books are connected happily all are easily read as standalone .
Margo is a no nonsense police Lieutenant working hard in a traditional mans world. She's good at her job and totally committed so when women start getting abducted and cruelly abused in porn movies she's not about to sit back and do nothing. Problem is she needs backup and Dash the annoyingly gorgeous brother of one of her detectives seems only too happy to help. He's a civilian so Margo really doesn't want to involve him but sometimes what Margo wants and what Margo needs are not the same thing!
Dash is following Margo home one night when she's viciously attacked. Left without the ability to look after herself the fiercely independent Margo has to agree to let Dash come home with her until it's certain she's not suffering any lasting damage. Dash has long wanted the opportunity to get closer to Margo and he's not about to let it slip through his fingers. Margo may be vulnerable but it's obvious she does have feelings for Dash. What starts out as an innocent deed pretty soon escalates to a lesson in passion. Margo is a well waiting to be tapped and Dash feels he's just the man for that job but danger is still stalking the feisty Lieutenant and it looks like Dash and Margo's fledgling relationship is truly in peril.
I first discovered Ms Fosters work several years ago and she's one of the most consistent authors I have ever found. Her books are filled with believable characters , strong story lines and hot encounters! This book did not disappoint and the hard as nails heroine Margo was just such a revelation. It's hard to always be in charge and I loved that the hero Dash could see her innermost needs. He didn't just see them he attended to them and it's a delicious slow burn that drives the passion within this story. Dash is an alpha male but he's also sensitive and Margo clearly needed to just let go of control sometimes.
This isn't just about romance though as there is a very real storyline running through this book. Prostituition and sex trafficking is a genuine issue facing Law enforcement and although this is a work of romantic fiction I applaud the author for bringing what's almost a taboo subject into the light. The villains here may be a little one dimensional but this is meant to be an escapist book for readers to while away a few hours with and not a serious tome.
So this book is probably one of my favourites from this author and I really enjoyed spending time with the hot Dash and strong Margo. A great fast moving plot that from the start just drags the reader in . There's action as well as passion and well written characters to care about . Supporting characters are interesting as well and I suspect one in particular (Cannon) may get his own book. It was a really fun book to read and I'm so looking forward to more from Ms Foster. Recommended .

Dash of Peril, the fourth and final installment in Lori Foster’s fabulous Love Undercover series, delivers fantastic characters and a fast paced storyline with a thrilling suspense element that kept me hooked until the very end!

Dash and Margo have been working together undercover to try and learn more information about who is behind the kidnapping, sexual assault and murder of young women in their city. They both want to make those responsible pay for their crimes. However, Dash also wants Margo. After an attempt on her life leaves Margo hurt and in need of help, Dash steps in.

Margo has always been fiercely independant, never admitting a need for, or wanting, help from anyone. Dash throws her life off balance, he makes her need and want things that she never has before. After the initial shock wears off, she realizes that may not be a bad thing. I loved her strength and fierceness, but I also loved her quiet, sweet and vulnerable side. It was beautiful to watch her discover that having those feelings, and someone to love and support her, didn’t make her weak, but instead made her stronger.

Dash exudes a quiet strength and dominance that, even though it’s not in your face, makes its intense presence known in many ways. He knows that Margo can be extremely intimidating (for some), but he refuses to let that deter him. He can see that there is so much more beneath that brass exterior she tries to show everyone else. I loved that Dash wasn’t afraid to take on, support, love and accept such a strong women. Instead of being a turn-off, her commanding presence, authority, leadership and skill were huge turn-on’s for him. He was able to keep the delicate balance between all of her worlds, understanding why, when, where and what she needed at every single turn. It was beautiful to see how they both blossomed with the love they shared.

Although I thoroughly enjoyed the story, reconnecting with the secondary characters and watching their lives continue to unfold, I did have some issues that disconnected me from the story somewhat. I loved both Dash and Margo’s characters separately, but together I had trouble connecting with them. Their chemistry didn’t feel electric and jump off the page like the couples in the previous books. Margo was so closed off to emotion and feelings that it was difficult for even me, the reader, to connect with her. Dash seemed almost too easygoing, and I wanted to see some stronger emotions from him at certain points. However, this did change about mid-way through and helped propel me through the rest of the story.

With every book I read from the amazing Ms. Foster, I fall a little more in love with her writing style and the vibrant, honest and authentic worlds that she creates. Dash of Peril was no different and offered up the perfect ending to another amazing series!
