I can't even criticize the translators because at the end of the day, they are the ones bringing us readers the translations of stories in n number of languages.
But ohmygod the god awful translations done in this book just sends me.

pretty sure it has more to do with the translator than the author, but twilight was just abysmal and impossible to get through. the plot, the flow, the scenes...it was all so frivolous.
mark of the nose-ring was a comparatively better read with stronger characters, but nothing that stuck out to me as a reader. a book should leave at least some mark on its reader - a new thought, idea, perspective, emotion, anything. this just couldn't deliver in any aspect.

I have a feeling that original, in Punjabi must be a very lyrical, almost poetic rendition. Much, of this quality, is lost in translation. And like a couple of other NBT books I have read, the copy editing is bad. really bad.

The translator, it is obvious has not done justice to the original. For a story that relates to gender identity, the choice of words, is almost childish. The rating is then, more for the translator's work, than the original itself.

The stories themselves are potentially, thought provoking, but it required that I imagine the original writer’s intent and thought, often.
