A okay mystery but not great. Medium-boiled, rather than hardboiled, as hard as it tries to be the latter.

I started this book two days ago, but forgot to enter it into Goodreads until now.
I loved this book.
This book was published in 1955, and is a great example of the hardboiled detective novel. I think this is one of Robert O. Saber's best books - I've read a few. Fast paced, lots of surprises, lots of untrustworthy characters, and I love the main character, a private detective named Max Keene. If you look at the cover artwork, you'll get an idea of what to expect.
