The Kriterion Saga #1

The World Between

Rate this book
Dad asked, "Where are you this evening, George?"

When he spoke to me directly, I jumped back to reality. I answered, "Sorry, Dad. I was just thinking about the story Miss MacAlpin was telling me today. She didn't have time to finish it and wants me to come back tomorrow. The suspense is killing me."

Georgie O'Dell has spent enough time with his old neighbor. Just when he is ready to give up and hang out with friends his own age, Miss MacAlpin begins telling a story that will change Georgie's life forever.

The story of Alex Edgecomb, an evil little boy with a hatred of his sister and all other living things, intrigues Georgie into hearing the rest, and he spends every possible minute at Miss MacAlpin's house from then on. Upon learning about the boy with blackness in his heart and soul, Georgie is shocked at how different—and better—his life is compared to Alex's. Georgie travels to the magical realm of Kriterion through Miss MacAlpin's story to hear the tales of Alex's entry into Kriterion and attempt to overthrow the kingdom.

When Alex's plan is found out, he is destined for judgment and must learn his punishment for the wicked life he's lived and the cruel things he's done. Georgie makes another startling discovery about Miss MacAlpin, and the story changes his life even further.

Join in on this award winning tale of Georgie's exciting adventure to The World Between and find out if he'll change his ways or end up just like Alex.

I received this book free from Goodreads Firstread.

Excellent! Loved the story! Do not want to add really anything that will give it away, but a definite read for younger people learning the ropes of the moral compass.

An Intriguing Fable

How often is a young child drawn to a delightful, elderly lady who changes their lives forever? I know I was lucky enough to oame across such a lady when I was a young girl. The old lady's eyes had the twinkle of youth with a smile that warmed my heart. She told me stories that sparked my vivid imagination and curiosity.
The storyteller in this fable spends the yarn about a young boy named Alex who hated everyone and tries to overthrow a kingdom. But his efforts fail and he awaits his punishment for his evil deeds. Georgie is the young boy who hears the tale from his elderly neighbor. He travels through the magic of his neighbor's story and learns he must change his own destructive behavior toward others or he could end up like Alex.
This is an interesting and intriguing fable that I believe all readers will enjoy and love as the action moves from world to world.

I won the third book of this series on goodreads so I bought this one so that I can read the series I order. Definitely a young adult book. That is why I gave it a 2 instead of a 3 or 4. Fantasy isn't my thing but it had a good idea behind it. It seemed a little juvenile for my taste.
