This was a pretty nicely done basic book on Ancient Egypt. I could quibble with several statements made, but in general, it was very accurate. Most of my quibbles are a matter of interpretation rather than factual information. The illustrations are quite good and everything is carefully defined. Many websites are given. The information tends to be somewhat superficial, but it is meant for tweens, and covers the entire range of Ancient Egyptian history so it isn't surprising that no event was covered in detail. Good addition to any library or present for a curious kid.

This is a terrific book! I always loved learning about Ancient Egypt, so that may be a piece of my enthusiasm. This book has goregeous pictures. The information is very interesting and organized in a variety of ways that interests readers. There are also some website links given on some pages for further information on a subject. I could spend a really long time with this book and not get bored.
