I don’t think I’ve ever read before an entire trilogy in a 2 weeks’ time. I only delayed writing the review of this last book because I was very caught up in working on my very first novel. But that’s another story, and you’re here to read my thoughts on “Rhyn’s Redemption” by YA Paranormal Romance writer Lizzy Ford.

This final book in the Rhyn Trilogy series answers to all the questions we’ve ever had from the first two novels. It is full of surprises and also the key to solving the puzzle formed by the prequels. If I had to sum up this book in one sentece, I’d say it is a clever and exciting chess game between Death itself and Darkyn, who are caught between a win or lose all situation. Who is the one who gives the Checkmate? You can only find out by reading it. So many incredible things happening in this book, I barely manage not to spoil it for you, dear review reader!

Let me just say this: Toby, I knew your role was much more important than we were led to believe. I love my instincts! And I can’t stress enough how much I adored Deidre and Gabriel in this last book. Rhyn and Katie were awesome as always, I could actually feel how worried they were for each other.

Oh, Lizzy Ford, how you manage to capture your readers’ attention! With lots of unexpected turns of events, how could I get bored? Cheating death, finding the loopholes in rules older than time, accepting your destiny, but at the same time trying to change it, the book doesn’t lack at all in action. I find it annoying when this kind of books focus too much on the couples and their chemistry, but Rhyn’s Trilogy has just the right amount of Romance. It’s not what I’d call girlish either. Finding the balance and adding the right amounts of everything in a YA book may be tricky, but Lizzy Ford managed to find the perfect recipe with the Rhyn series!

This, of course, goes straight to my “favourites” shelf, mainly because of the passion with wich I savoured everything that happened. From the annoying characters that I loved to hate, to the amazing protagonists, the characters all seem very realistic, despite this being a Fantasy book. It’s really the exact thing I am looking for in a YA Paranormal Romance, and I was happy to find it at the time when I thought this genre was no longer fit for my reading tastes. I recommend it with all my heart to lovers of this genre.

Fantastic!!!

Rhyn’s Redemption pulls you in from the first page and doesn’t let you go. I couldn’t put it down.

There was just some much going on in this series. Demons, Immortals, Death. There was a tone of danger, and loads of tension. And Ford pulled it all together flawlessly. I never had a second where I was confused or lost, only hours of spine-tingling suspense.

Rhyn really steps up in this book. While Katie is stuck in Death’s domain frantically searching for an escape and a way back to him, Rhyn starts to get passed all his insecurities, and yes, he goes a little crazy doing it. Not only does he have a war to fight, and a counsel of brothers who do not believe in him to keep together, but he also gets forced to decide between the fate of the world and Katie.

Just like the last two, Ryhn’s Redemption kept me engrossed and guessing until the end. I loved, loved, loved every minute of it.

All I can say is thank goodness Ford has decided to continue on with the Rhyn Eternal series. I definitely need more of these characters!

I loved this book!! In Rhyn's Redemption (Book III, Rhyn Trilogy) by Lizzy Ford we continue the story of Rhyn, an Immortal, and Katie, a mortal. Gabriel is guiding Katie through the Underworld so that she can be reunited with her Mate-Rhyn. Rhyn believes that Katie is dead and is vent on destroying himself. Lizzy Fird is an amazing writer who has decided to continue the story of Rhyn, Katie and several other characters from the Rhyn Trilogy. I am thrilled with this and can not wait until September when the first book in the new series is released. I enjoy reading books written by Lizzy because her stories are always full of action and love; they keep the reader interested until the very end and always wanting more. Thanks Lizzy!!

Her hair tickled his face, and he rested his chin on her head. They held each other for a long moment. His thoughts grew dark as he thought about what it would take to save her. He'd have to risk the wrath of Death.
"Rhyn, will you promise me something?" she asked, propping her chin on his chest to look up at him. "Will you promise to protect Hannah, Toby, and everyone else, even if it means losing me?"
"No." His grip tightened instinctively around her.
"You're a good man, Rhyn. You've done so much to help me and your brothers. You must do this one last thing for me."
"It won't come to that," he said hoarsely. "I'd destroy everything to get you back."
"I know you would, and I'm asking you not to. I'm asking you to protect what's left of good in the world."
Her words fell heavily, as if she knew she was already doomed to her fate in the underworld. Rhyn said nothing for a long moment.
"I chose to sacrifice my life so that you'd have the chance to do this, Rhyn. Don't make my choice a bad one," she told him.
"It was a bad one," he said with a snort.
"Sometimes all we have are shitty choices," Katie said. "Promise me!"
"If it'll shut you up, fine."
"Thank you."

2019 (3rd re-read)

So, this took me waaay to long to read…but I started a new job this week so it impacted my free time I had grown so used to having. It wasn't a reflection on the book, because it's good. My one big complaint is that this one has terrible editing. I noticed a few mistakes in the first two books, a misspelled word here and there, some grammar that was off, but not like this one. Misspelled words, wrong words (like in instead of is, he instead of she) that kind of thing. But the worst was the chapters…nine wasn't even linked up and there are two chapter thirteens. It bugged me, but it's not a deal breaker or anything.
Anyway, book three picks up right after the last one, Katie and Rhyn are both fighting to get back to each other. And trying to fight both Death and Darkyn while doing it. I like this one, but again it took me so long to get through it I feel like I barely remember exactly what happened so I'm not even going to bother trying to explain it. So, next up is Gabriel's story, and when I read this originally it was during his books somewhere that I fell away from the series. Now that it's fresh again I'm going to try to get through them sooner rather than wait awhile. I do remember that his books took a weird turn and that's when I stopped, but we'll see how it goes this time around, it was so long ago maybe it won't seem so odd this time. Anywho, here's my standard warning of spoilers below, but if you continue reading, enjoy some of my favorite scenes…

"What drew you to Rhyn?"
Katie didn't answer for a moment, pensive. Gabe glanced back at her then slowed, as if sensing she was growing tired.
"At first, I think it was knowing he was a black sheep like me. My sister always treated me as if I was a blight on the family name. She tried to help me in her own way, I guess, which was better than what Rhyn's brothers did to him. I wanted to believe he could make it in the Immortal world, because if he did, I could, too," she started. "And then I saw how good his heart is. He's a train wreck, but he's honorable and capable of such good. Kris pulled me into this world and assumed I'd do what I was told like a good little human. But when I told Rhyn I wanted to leave him, he asked for another chance. It's like he woke up then and realized he wasn't in Hell anymore or trapped by his brothers expectations."
"He had a reason to be more than what people told him he was," Gabe said.
"He did. He wanted to make the world safer for me, for our…" Katie's throat tightened. She cleared it. "He realized he doesn't have to be in the shadows anymore. And the way he looked at me that last day…" she drifted off again, this time recalling the intensity of emotion on Rhyn's face the last time she'd seen him in the mortal world. "I almost believed we had half a chance."
"You have more than half a chance," Gabe said with a chuckle. "You saw in him what I've always seen and no one else has."

~

"I know you don't want me here, but I'm glad I came. I like you most of all, Rhyn. Maybe I should call you Dad. Or Pops or Father."
"What?" Rhyn demanded.
"You're Mama's mate. Do you like Pops better?"
"If you call me any of those things, I'll hang you upside down from this tree and watch you starve."
"You should get used to it, though, Pops. What'll you do when your daughter is born?"
"Daughter?" Rhyn echoed. "Katie's…" dead. At least, she was for another four days. If Death kept her word, Katie would be back. "How do you know Katie will be alive in four days?"
"Really, Rhyn? You think she's dead?" Toby asked and rolled his eyes. "She's alive now. I told Kris and Hannah the same thing. No one listens to me."
"I'm listening now."
"I'm her guardian," the angel said. He puffed himself up, the scrawny body of a juvenile who hadn't thought to carry more wood to a dying fire. "If she was dead-dead, I'd have to have a new human, but I don't. Kris wanted me to choose a new one, but I-"
"Where is she?"
"She's stuck in the Immortal underworld," Toby said with a shrug. "She's not in the mortal world. I'm sure Gabriel will take care of her. He knows his way around the underworld. I'm old enough to start to access the angel memories. But I don't know if this has ever happened before."
"He'd have to defy Death to keep a human alive in her domain," Rhyn said, considering. The histories of humanity - and Immortals - were passed from angel-to-angel in the form of memories. He'd heard them mentioned before but didn't know much about angels. "No wonder the bitch agreed to my terms."
"Who?"
"Death. She told me I couldn't destroy the world for four days and offered me Katie's life in exchange."
Toby snorted a laugh. "Uncle Kris is right. You are more brawn than brains, Pops."
"Shut up and go to sleep."
"But I'm not done-"
Rhyn snatched the open can of food and flung it into the forest. Toby stared at him then took his pink coat and crawled deeper into the little cave. Rhyn stretched out on his back next to the fire, his mind puzzling over the angel's words. However much he tried to focus on what it was Death had agreed to, he couldn't escape his mixed emotions or one errant thought.
Daughter.
He was doomed any way he looked at things.

~

"Is this place even real?" he asked.
"Does it matter?"
Rhyn smiled faintly, admiring the woman before him. She was foolishly stubborn and lippy - and he loved that about her. She was the first creature ever to see beyond his half-demon curse. She'd stayed strong in Hell, through confrontations with demons and Immortals alike, through his own failings. She hadn't just survived; she'd found some part of him to believe in.
The idea of caring for her overwhelmed him again. He'd never had a reason to try to control his power or to focus on anything other than surviving. That a simple little mortal could show him just how little his Immortal and demon powers really meant humbled him. If he found his way, it would be because of her.
Her distress and sorrow were there, buried but he still saw them. She was trying to be brave, asking him for one last moment of comfort before what she thought was the end. He owed her that, and so much more.
"No, it doesn't," he said softly. He reached out to her. His hands trailed down her soft cheek and tangled in her wayward curls. With his index finger, he drew a line from her chin, down her neck, between her breasts and rested his hand on her belly, where the hatchling grew.
A different kind of sorrow filled him, one he recognized as regret. If he failed, he'd never see the little girl Katie carried. Their hatchling would be as stubborn as her mother, and he could almost imagine huge eyes as blue and clear as Katie's peering out at him from a sweet, curly-headed demon child's face. He wished he'd told Katie how terrified - but thrilled - he'd been when she told him about the hatchling. He wished he knew one fucking thing about raising a child or being a mate. Every one of his brothers could've managed these things, but his nature left him better apt at destroying than nurturing.
At least he could kill anything that came near his mate and child, if he had the chance.

~

"It's not a dream," he said. "Not this time."
"Doesn't quite seem real yet, though."
He hesitated and then held out a hand. She took it. His warm hands were rough and large. He squeezed hers. He led her away from the courtyard and lights into the dark night. They walked hand in hand for a few moments, alone under the full moon. She'd walked with him before, but this night, it was different. She felt the shift between them.
"The hatchling really is a girl?" he asked.
"She's not a hatchling, Rhyn."
"I hope she comes out better behaved than Toby."
Katie laughed loudly, unable to help herself. Rhyn pulled her into his arms, swallowing her in his warmth and scent. Katie wrapped her arms around him.

~

Katie's eyes watered, and she squeezed them shut. The nightmares of the past few weeks seemed to fade away while she was in his arms. She'd been too afraid to think about what kind of life they might possibly have, but she found herself wondering how it would feel to wake up and go to sleep with Rhyn beside her.
"Our life together starts right now. Unless you want to send me away," he added.
"Depends on how you behave," she said, smiling up at him through happy tears.
Rhyn grimaced. "I'm not promising any miracles. We got a lot to do to prepare the world for Hazel."
"I have faith in us."
"Right now, I owe my mate a rowdy night on the beach under the moonlight," he said. He swung her up into his arms and strode towards the water.
Katie laughed, happiness and hope bubbling within her. She took in Rhyn's strong profile. If anyone could save the world, it was him.

I have said that books they draw my emotions are good, this was excellent! The complexity of the characters are astounding. Ms.Ford has brought us a story of 7 immortals, 1000 year
old baby angel, and our dear Katie. Now throw in death and her assassin and we have a story! All of this pales in comparison to the nasty vile Sasha!
What a wonderful series she has created for us.
Who could imagine that getting pulled over by the cops could have started on this path. When the everyday meets Magic and Katie's life changes in the blink of an eye. All at once she is thrown into
a life where she is a mother of a 5 years old and no idea how that has happen. Yes you read that correctly.. blink and clear your eyes. She has a child, that everyone in her life knows about but her. WTC!!! You figure that out. Katie begins to fall in a spiral that she will soon find herself trapped in Hell. Oh MY! WAIT I need to tell you, Toby
which is Katie's 5 year old son just happens to be besties with Death's Assassin Gabe. Keeping up with me? Are you dying here .. Trust me! Keep reading:-) This is all part of the intriguing journey thats filled with confusion, drama and monsters. Katie she faces all these bizarre changes in her life, will eventually meet some people only dreams create. Torture and horrible things. all of this and then she will meet Rhyn..
This series is going to take you for a ride that you have never been on
before. Characters you will love and hate .. Torture and I cannot even begin to do this justice.
So my advice, is not to sit in the world you feel comfortable in, but jump into Katie's world and live through her. Your
enjoyment will be so much better. Have patience with this amazing story. The 1000 questions that you will form, will all
be answered in time. Also a note to readers, Lizzy Ford has given us one more fantastic bit, she is continuing
The Rhyn series. YAY So just when you think you will get no more of what you desire most BAM she writes Gaberial's Hope.
I do not know if you seen the cover but man you will want to polish his scythe with your....ummmm your towel....yes that
would be the right thing to say. LOL. Listen to me, read it and you will not regret it.

So this is the third part to an amazing trilogy about Ryn and Katie. But don't worry. This isn't the end of the series, more like the creation of Rhyn and Katie. Which, in my opinion, totally rocks! We begin with Katie being trapped in the underworld. Death hasn't claimed her soul and her top assassin is trying to lead her back to earth before she becomes dead-dead. Katie is followed by Rhyn's dead brother, but only she can see him. She begins to doubt everything, including her guide that is starting to act funny, and forgets is way. Is it just her or are things not as they seem?

Rhyn, meanwhile is forced into a suicide mission to reclaim his brother's house. His older brother asked him to do this knowing he probably wouldn't make it out alive. Which was fine for both of them. But their baby angel has other ideas. He jumps into the portal before Rhyn, which causes Rhyn to redirect his suicide mission to a rescue one. It seems that everyone has it out for Rhyn to ultimately fail and die. Will Rhyn allow his own fate to be manipulated?

Death holds all the cards in this game of life. It is her test for Rhyn that separates the lovers, and Rhyn must pass or forfeit his life. The only one who knows what that test will be is Death. But she has other roles to play. I can't say enough good things about this series. I truly have enjoyed the many spins Lizzy has put on Death and the realms of Hell and the Immortals. These books were a true treasure with their fresh spin on the age old battle between good and evil. It is completely up to Rhyn to decide his fate and pass his test. But will he do it? LOL...That is the better question!! Great, Great Read!!

I really like the world Lizzy Ford has created with this series, and I'm happy she chose to continue the world past just the trilogy she initially started with. This book left a lot of loose ends, but that's ok because I wasn't ready to say goodbye to the characters yet.

Rhyn has changed so much and become such a likeable character. I'm proud of who he's become and excited to see his progression. Katie's effect on him has been nothing shy of miraculous. Gabriel has found himself with a lot more responsibility than he ever planned on having. I found myself feeling a plethora of sympathy for him at the end. For someone that made so many sacrifices for a person he cares for, it seems he got the shaft in it all.

I was shocked at the sacrifice Kris made. After spending almost three entire books with him being a character I loathed, I'm struggling now with the caring feelings I'm finding I have towards him. How dare he turn my hatred into compassion!!!

I sooooo liked Deidre's character!! I read the blurb for the next book and am happy to report this isn't the last we see of her!

This is a solid series that reads quickly, but the story and characters are engaging. It'll be interesting to see where it continues!

I really enjoy Lizzy Ford's writing and this book is no exception. I love the characters she has created and the world in which they survive. I was pleased with the way the book ended and love the few surprises thrown in for our enjoyment. I'm very excited that Lizzy has decided to continue with these characters and start a new set of stories. I'm very excited to see what Katie and Rhyn face next. This book provided a great closure to the first trilogy in Lizzy Ford's Rhyn Series. True, it doesn't answer every question, but instead, gives us a base upon which we can begin reading the next set of books. Great job Lizzy!

Normally a book that doesn't wrap up loose ends and people die, would get 3 or 4 stars from me. But Lizzy did warn us at the beginning of the book that not everyone in this book gets a happy ending and that a lot of questions would still be left unanswered.

I thought she did a wonderful job with the characters, the dialog, and the action in this intallment. It was a very quick read (meaning I wish it was longer) and I was surprised at a couple of things that happened in this book, which is always good.

Anyway, I love Lizzy Ford's books and if you like paranormal romance type books, you will too!

In Ryn's Redemption, you continue the story of Rhyn, Katie, Rhyn's brother's, Toby, and Gabriel. You watch as everyone struggles to make sense of the past and hold on to their futures. This book is an awesome conclusion to the trilogy and a great beginning to spin off novels for the other characters. The author wraps up the loose ends and allows you to see why Rhyn and Katie had to take the journey they did to get to the end. Definitely a must read series!

In this, the last of the trilogy, things get all convoluted! The entire cast is included and things go every which way. It's obvious there will be a spin-off series and that's not a bad thing, as there are so many characters for readers to discover. I would have preferred more depth be had within Katie and Rhyn's story, though. For a finale of their tale, very little page time was given to them together.

Rhyn's Redemptions (Rhyn Trilogy Book 3)

I love Toby, he is such an amazing son and Angel . I loved the way he never gave up in his "mamma" This book was the best out of the 3, while I thought the storyline was going one way, it completely went a totally different way, and it blew my mind... I loved it...
I really wished this book was the end of the trilogy, but it isn't so I need to read the next book in the series....
I am happy that Katie and Rhyn ended up together in the end, hopefully until the end..... but who knows with all the twists

I've read the trilogy several times now, and I still go back to it from time to time. I don't even know what words could describe this book the best, because it was interesting, with beautiful scenery (at least, from the description of the scenery, I felt the beauty of them), good dialogues, an actually strong personality for the main characters, even though, some reviewers describet Katie as a whining person (which I can say she really wasn't, 'cuz I've seen in a lot of japanese manga, where the main characters are far worse than here), but on the other hand, what would you do if suddenly, you'd get several tickets from a police officer, basically for nothing, a child - angel, who is not even yours? Your life flipped over, crazy immortals trying to get their hands on you, be thrown in hell, almost died several times and saved as much and going throght Deaths' lair, and die to save your love. Althou, why not, it made a really readable and good book. Was worth the time spent in reading it. :)

Brilliant!! Absolutely a great read!! First the author hooks you into this Romeo and Juliet type love story being that the romance just seems doomed from the very beginning. Our Romeo is this powerful kickass immortal, Rhyn, who is shunned from his brothers and society because his powers are uncontrollable and his mom was a demon. Whereas his mate, Katie, is also the black sheep of the family who just hasn't found her way in the whorl quite yet. The two of these highly stubborn characters coming together is like fire and ice. Too bad everyone seems to be out to destroy any semblance of happiness that they manage to gain.

This book probably has more action than both the other novels put together and the plot twists make things super entertaining. If you are ready to submerge yourself into a whole new world of supernaturals then the Rhyn Trilogy is right for you. I highly recommend this book and can't wait for more novels by this wonderful author.

"I mean, you look beautiful for a dead woman."

Trapped in the underworld, Katie is racing against time to get back to Rhyn before Death claims her and her daughter's life. Meanwhile, Rhyn is breaking down the barrier that keeps Death safe from the Dark One, willing to do anything to get Katie back before it's too late.

When the time comes to choose between Katie's fate and the fate of the entire world, will Rhyn make the right choice?

Once again, this fast-paced novella drags the reader in, taking them through the roller coster of emotions both Katie and Rhyn have been fighting the entire series. Rhyn maintains his noble character despite all his brothers and others throw at him, finally accepting what Katie has been saying all along - there is something good in him.

Rhyn's Redemption grips you from the beginning and doesn't let up, leaving you hungry for more.

What an amazing finish to the Rhyn Trilogy!

I read this book in one sitting. It was so good, I just couldn't put it down. Read along as Rhyn tries to fight his way back to Katie. Death has broken her own rules to try and help them out. Gabriel has given up his soul because he knows that there's more to Rhyn than what people believe. Rhyn is one of my all time favorite characters. He's got a good heart and tries to do the right thing, even if people can't see that. If you're looking for an action packed adventure, full of love, hate, deceit, and hope, then you've found it here.
This is the 3rd book in the series, so if you haven't read Katie's Hellion and Katie's Hope, you should read those first. There's also a new spin off series starting with Gabriel's Hope.

The third book was even better than the last! Once you think things will go one way, it ends up jumping into a whole new direction!! Katie faces things head on, determined to keep going even when things seem like it will only end for worse. Kris finally sees Rhyn for what he is. Death learns from the most unlikely of beings. Rhyn shows others he acts out of loyalty to protect humanity and not selfishness. Gabriel tries to accept his new role after assisting his friend. Simply a new world I can't get enough of!! A must read!

Even Death can't keep Katie from trying to get where she needs and wants to be. With Gabriel by her side, she is trying to make it back to her mate who wants nothing more than to have her back before he loses control. Katie is fighting tooth and nail to get back to the man she loves and she gets help from the most unusual source. This ends with a great happily ever after with a HUGE twist!!! <3

Happy to finally have an ending for Katie and Rhyn to be happy about!!!! It was great to see how they finally found each other and the trials they had to go through to be together! Loved Toby, Gabriel, and Rhyn in this book!!!! Kind of a shocker to see how things were left for Gabriel in the end of the book! A bit sad to see two of the characters die dead...Spin off series will be fabulous, I know it! Can't wait to get into Gabriel's book!

So sorry it had to come to an end. I absolutely love the world, characters and plots that Lizzy Ford creates. She has an incredible imagination and is able to draw reader into action. I could not put it down! This trilogy is so wonderful and I'm so happy that she has decided to continue with the Rhyn series. I know there is so much more she can tell!

Great great book. As with the previous 2 books, I was unable to predict the end. Thankfully there's another book. If this series ended with a cliffhanger I'd be a little bit pissed at the author. I'm in love with this series and I hope to see more of rhyn and Katie together in the next book.

This is a review for Rhyn's series prequel to Rhyn's Eternal.

I enjoyed the change of characters and I like the story line it was different and unique. I liked Andre I had hoped he was not dead. I like the way the author made Rhyn's character unique from his time in hell to his upbringing.

I enjoyed how the death dealer who place him in hell felt remorse and thought it unjust for him to be there and actually got him a second chance, even if it cost him his soul.

The book had me in suspense, got me upset one minute then wondering what's going to happen next. People died, people went to hell and death is missing and Gabriel is losing is mind. I am upset the mad scientist is dead.

The prequel left some unanswered questions like did Lliana and Sasha died. Did they find their father's corpse and where did Death go.

Now this one could be confusing if you aren't paying attention. Dopplegangers and ghosts...who to trust has always been Katie's problem and that hasn't changed...the thing is that in this one, it can be the difference between returning to Rhyn or remaining forever in the Underworld. Trapped in the Underworld with only Gabe to lead her out and back to Rhyn, Katie has finally come to the realization that she will do anything to make it back to her mate, but only has a very short window to make it out alive with her child. Gabe risked it all to help her and Rhyn and she is determined to make the most of his sacrifice.

In the meantime, Rhyn believes Katie and the baby are dead, and he is once again battling to control his powers. When Kris offers him a job to remove demons from the immortal compound, Rhyn jumps at the chance, but doesn't factor in a very determined boy angel set on looking for Katie in the Underworld. When Rhyn finds himself following Toby, he soon learns that Katie is not technically dead-dead and he just may have a chance of bartering with Death to get them both back. Bartering...such a nice word for the bull-dozer that is Rhyn, but damn, you just gotta love him. He is not the soft and cuddly type and the way he talks to Toby makes me want to slap him on the back of his head for God's sake, but Rhyn is Rhyn. Even when he makes mistakes he does all he can to make up for it and his intentions are usually good. Rhyn is a bad boy and not expecting him to be a bad boy is a mistake. So yes, his trip to the Underworld is not without repercussions, but he goes anyway and takes Kiki and Kris with him. After saving Kris' life, things are not as tense between them, but there will never be anything more either. So when Kris makes a decision in the Underworld that has him questioning his beliefs, it was one of those "About F*ing time" moments...but alas, it did not last...at least not until the very end when Kris finally steps up and takes accountability for being the dick that he is toward Rhyn and Katie, if not anyone else.

Not exactly what I was expecting to happen, but damn good and a perfect lead in to Gabriel's story. Again, I highly recommend this series and am looking forward to Gabe's HEA.

Ah, the light at the end of the tunnel.

This book had a lot going on, and at times I was so caught up in everything that I forgot what was what (this sentence sounds confusing, but if you read the book you'll know what I mean!). So, even though as the reader you're given access to both sides (evil/good, Darkyn/everyone else) it is still difficult to keep track of AND remember (and then successfully apply that knowledge) to what is going on in the book. Is it really that hard? No, but the author does a great job of immersing the reader and thus I 'lost' myself.

I definitely enjoyed following the characters around. They have all grown so much throughout this journey, and I like that Katie isn't just a headstrong, stubborn character. She might be headstrong and stubborn, but not to the point of frustration; she is also able to think on her feet and does the best with what she's given. Definitely an admirable heroine. Rhyn, Gabe, Death, Toby, and other characters also won a place in my heart.

I found more typos (quotation marks facing the wrong way, random periods, etc) in this book than either of the two previous books, so that was a bit saddening. Also, at the 50% mark, I could have sworn Jared already left the room, but a few lines later, he's there and responding to something another character says...

I look forward to reading more from Ms. Lizzy Ford, and more about this world!
