This is fiction for LDS readers. Jason Hackett is an angel. An angel with a problem. In the precursor to this book, "Angels Don't Knock" you meet Jason as he comes to earth to court Samantha who is his predestined mate. Due to a divine clerical error, Jason is born 30 years too soon. Hence, the reason he is an angel when he meets Sam. In the second book in the series, it turns out that Sam had one condition that had to be met before she would agree to marry Jason. The condition is that the guy she was engaged too, Bruce, has to be happily married to another woman within a year of Sam & Jason's marriage. When this book begins both Jason and Sam are angels with a mission to get Bruce happily married. This is a fun read, particularly for people who have a foundation in the doctrine of eternal progression and eternal marriage.
This story was even more fun than its prequel "Angels Don't Knock." Probably because we know the characters. Bruce is a very good sport and becomes our "knight in shining armor." Even Jason has to concede that Bruce is not a "wimp."
sequel to "angels don't knock" takes up the story right when the previous one left off. If Bruce thought he was through with the 'ghost' he was sadly mistaken. When his fiance Samantha died in a tragic accident, she made provisions for him to find true love and be married withing a year. All this involves Jake, and his pal Gus trying to work a miracle for him and keep Sam's friend Arlene safe from a crazy co-worker. All in all this is a really easy read, great characters, catchy story line and a truly halarious keystone kops type of story. Dan Yates is an awesome author, with a good story to tell I am looking forward to the rest of the saga of the angels and their adventures.
Ugh, another terrible book. But they are super quick listens (less than a day) and this narrator is better than the first. But these are terribly written. I just need a few quick reads to help me get to my goal this year.
I love his books. They are lighthearted with some mystery mixed in. I could read him everyday. He just makes you feel better. Will get the next one soon.
This book is cute. I knew the ending at the beginning. I read on because it was a sweet story and I usually finish books I start. However, I am not sure I will continue with this series unless I am looking for another Hallmark story. This book did not make me laugh or smile. It was unexcitingly ok.
I thought this book was very good! I liked the way the author described the characters, I also thought that it was very interesting and had a great plot! I thought it was very good because the author described things well and made it hard to put down.
