I give this book a 2.5. This was by far the best one in the series and almost got a 3 star review. But I take off half a star for not getting the horse terminology correct. Horses are not “leashed” like dogs. It’s easy to research that so it’s just more sloppy writing.
Jason and Sam Hackett are at it again. This time they are helping a friend named Lori Douglas and her husband Brad, and the man they had exiled to an island, Howard Placard. It seems that Howard has been infatuated with Lori for years and couldn't figure out why Sam said she was the wrong gal for him. Seems he was also the recipient of a typo on his forever contract with the one gal he loved in the spirit world--Lorraine Parker, Lori's great Aunt. The story is a little more complicated this time because the women could be identical twins. In order to sort this one out Howard must return to the Arizona territory in the year 1885 and meet the gal he is contracted with, find out it is she he is in love with and make the ultimate choice of which life time he wants. One with Lorraine or one without Lori knowing she is in love with her husband. Along the way they meet up with outlaws, Buffalo Bill and Annie Oakley and host of others. A great time is to be had by all in the wild, wild west.
Bungled again! Howard and Annette Placard were supposed to have been born in the late 1800s. Annette (Howard's twin sister) had already died because of an accident. For the last year and a half, Howard's been living on Brad Douglas's deserted island. Now, Annette appears to Howard as a second-class angel. He learns from Annette why he's been obsessed with Lori Douglas for so many years, and he is given one day to change his love forever after.
