Monster's Bride #2.5

Monster's Bride: Christmas in the Underworld

Rate this book
With the holidays drawing near, Cressida wants to make this year extra special for her new family. But there’s no lights, no parties, no Christmas joy to be found in the Underworld.

As she struggles to plan the perfect Christmas, the shadow demons have moved into town, and not even escaping to Earth can stop the chaos of their families coming after them.

When Cressida gets kidnapped, again, her demons will stop at nothing to have her home for Christmas.

This is a companion story to the Monster’s Bride duet, a medium burn reverse harem paranormal romance. This book has an 18+ warning and is intended for mature audiences.

This is a slice of life novella that is a companion to the duology with these characters.

It had been my plan to read the first two books as I’d got one free in a promotion but I didn’t have time and wanted to read this around christmas.

The book includes spice, a bit of action and some resolutions of things that presumably happened in the other books.

I would say that some of the drama was quite fast paced and kind of happened and then was resolved quite quickly, I didn’t find myself that immersed.

The book has pictures which were fine but the quality wasn’t great as two of the characters have black skin as they are shadow demons and also one is a black Anubis and the images were quite dark and difficult to differentiate what was in them. The imagery / style was also different to what is on the cover which was confusing.

I think overall the story was fine, it was kind of an extended epilogue for the series and centres around the demons and Cress and how their life is now, meeting family and having a happily ever after.
I think the series needs to be read first to fully appreciate the group’s struggles and this is more of a snippet into their life now things are a bit calmer.

I don’t think I’ll pick up the series, it’s not my usual read and after reading this I think I’m ok to leave it there.

Check it out if you like spicy monster romances with multiple male characters, knotting and breeding kinks! I think this will be a good addition to the series for those that love the characters from the first two books.

If you enjoyed the "Monster's Bride" duet, you'll love this Christmas story as well. Just make sure you've read the duet first, because otherwise there will be a lot of characters to get to know all at once, without a lot of background. Also, for the full enjoyment, it would be awesome if you've also read the Neckromancer series, since Jaz and her men play a tiny part in this story as well, but that's not absolutely necessary.

This Christmas story has everything you might expect after reading Cressida's duet. It's a cute demon story, with a found family trope, and an even bigger focus on family with the whole Christmas theme. I loved watching all these characters interact with little Emma, and how they are settling in as parents in hell. This novella doesn't focus on big plot development, but it's a nice Christmas-themed story that fits perfectly with the holidays.

OMG this was a great book. It was addicted. I just loved it. It was a page turner and the suspense was mind blowing of physical attraction and the chemistry between them was spicy of hotness. Cressida and her demon mated was passionate . Could the demon save her in time before Christmas day. I couldn't even put it down as I was on the edge of my seat with excitement. I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. I received advance copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving my honest review. Trina Jones

I loved this Holiday addition to Cressida’s story! It was so great to get back to Cress and her men and also have a few crossover characters. Absolutely the duet should be read first! The pictures were wonderful and I loved being able to visualize the characters especially baby Emma. Very sweet and steamy!

Cressida and her hubbies have a wonderful start to Christmas...lot's of heat and adventure await them earth-side...until a misguided father, makes a big mistake...but tragedy doesn't last long. So glad to see this crew again and I so hope that Mel and her Anubis get a story too!

Cressida is ready for Christmas. Batien, Set, and Hinata have never celebrated the holiday. None of their families have. Cressida is going to make this the best Christmas ever.

I received an Advance Reader Copy for an honest.

Cressida, Set, Hinata, Bastien

I loved the Christmas update and getting to see what their baby was like. I'm happy that it seems like Mel will have a family with Sets brothers. Fingers crossed, we get a story for them.

I have no words for how much I loved this book! I love Christmas and I love Cressida and her demons. A nice short story with an amazing twist. An appearance from one of my fave characters from that bathory world!
