It’s not easy being happy in today’s world. Let’s face it, most people don’t enjoy their lives much. Between their jobs, money worries, too many things to do, and too little time, most people are lucky to have one hour of happiness a week.
Don’t settle for that! Even if you have a pretty good life, maybe a B+, you can have more. You can build the life you want and be happy. It’s not a trick or a scam, it’s not a bunch of silly nonsense you tell yourself and try to believe, and it’s not outside your power. It’s real, and it’s a gift you can give yourself.
What you’ll learn inside:
* The roots of unhappiness and 6 common mistakes people make when seeking happiness * The mechanics of happiness and how it really works * 10 faulty assumptions that may be holding you back * How to let go of old memories, thoughts, and beliefs that stand in your way * 10 tools you can use to create genuine happiness now * How to build purpose and meaning into your life (no religion needed) * How to go from stressed out to chilled out * How to feel great and enjoy life on an everyday basis
This book will tell you how you can be truly, genuinely happy on a daily basis. I’ve gathered the best from academic research, books, and my own experience to create this simple yet comprehensive happiness guide so you can start living a happier life today.
My focus is remembering that life is short and making your best days a common occurrence.

I absolutely loved this book. I felt like the author was or used to be a person very much like myself. I've been struggling with finding happiness in more that mere moments and working on my positive attitude. I feel like FOR ONCE someone got it right. The tools the author advises to use are realistic and simple.
I also loved that the book was not long and overdone. It was short and straight to the point. I can't tell you how many self help books I've tried to read with great intentions and just getting bored by reading the same thing over and over again and I feel like I'm falling alseep after 2 paragraphs.
Thank you so much Cara Stein! Thank you for doing it right!
All of us would like to be happy, but most of us are not. This book puts out ideas on how to be happy. I got a lot of inspiration that I intend to put into action, like looking for a new job and stop wasting my time staying with one that has made me miserable for far too long.
Of course, no other person and no book can make me happy, but I've come to realize through the decades that it helps to have certain people and certain books and other resources in my life to remind me how to keep myself in some semblance of emotional balance, perspective, and overall contentment. I like to keep books around that I can get a refresher from about how my thinking may be steering me wrong at the moment. This is one of those little books that helps. Kind of a refresher for my frequently moody self, about how to come to terms with the seeming negative slant of the world. Right now, with all the bummer news to be had, it's like someone leaving a candle burning in a window. This book was available for free. What more could I ask? Thank you, Cara Stein.
I chose this rating because I felt like everything was broken down into steps that are attainable for any of us to achieve. I loved the fact that it talked about how positivity is the key to happiness and that all starts w k th the mindset. I also liked that there were activities offered to help you learn to become a more positive person or at least get you thinking positively. I would recommend this book as a good read
This book has put the road leading to happiness into perspective. The author has a wonderful and relatable writing style, putting all this info in an engaging and informative short read. I really enjoyed this book, I feel more prepared and excited to work on my own happiness after finishing this book! Ill certainly be sharing these tips, & integrating them with my cranky pre-teens for sure as well!
For anyone who needs a reminder about how to be happy, I recommend this book. You can finish read this in one sit and you can stand with a better perspective after that. It's really simple but works for me.
This book is short and to the point. It's good, sound advice. Life is what you make it. There's a free workbook you can use with this. Looking forward to trying it.
I agree with the author that unhappiness comes from fear. It is noticeable that the most adventurous people enjoy their times and have so much fun even if they practice a dangerous adventure/hobby and then get hurt. It's a good realistic book.
Of course I give it 5 stars--it contains all the best stuff I've learned over the past three years, and if I didn't think it was the best thing since sliced bread, I wouldn't have released it.
