Pixie Rebels #4

The Pixie Squad

Rate this book
Z Thornbrook and her pixie cousins thought things would be more exciting since they were now Pixie MPs. Not so far.

They’re stationed in a cramped little office in a military police station on post doing mundane, boring tasks. Answering phones, directing calls, and taking care of paperwork.

There’s a method to the badness. They have to prove they can be responsible when they’re not battling magical threats alongside Alpha Team.

Can they convince their captain they can roll with his command?

Let’s find out. Their Captain just gave the tiny but fierce soldiers new orders for low-priority policing calls around the post. It’s a start.

Our favorite pint-sized military with wings seize the chance to hit the streets and enforce the law.

Will they stay on the straight and narrow, or will they risk their newfound trust to pursue their own secret mission? What if they have a good reason?

Join Z and her mischievous band of magical cousins in this fast-paced, action-packed adventure, as they navigate the challenges of police work, confront their past, and prove that even the smallest of heroes can make a big difference.

Okay, I'm a late bloomer who's a big DC comics fan and spent my childhood summers on the Jersey shore but I was born under a wandering star and have lived in different parts of America ever since. That's enough about me. Need to feel inspired today? Looking for something to make you root for an ordinary hero? I'm all about that in everything I write.

I love a good tale that makes me wonder about things and I love a story even more that leaves me feeling inspired or like I'm capable of doing more than I realized. That's my goal with everything I've ever written. Some of the stories I tell involve twisting, turning thrillers and others have a lot of magic.

There's something to be said for getting lost in another world and coming out the other side feeling a little better about yourself or the possibilities in front of you. That's basically the best part of life in a nutshell, no matter what kind of story I'm setting out to tell.

Thank you for checking out my stories!

You can’t toast an omelette without breaking a few brain cells

Okay, so I’m really bad at mixing cliches the way our pixies do, but I just had to try.

Once again, this book manages to knock the ball out the park. In fact, it knocks it all the way across the next three neighborhoods (I was tempted to try and be funny, again, but decided to forego the effort for your sakes).

There is something about this series that simply boggles my mind, and yet it totally fits with the personalities of these three incredible characters. While each book is an essential and integral element to the series, and while each book advances the storyline in both fun and intriguing ways, it seems like absolutely nothing really happens. These guys move at such high speed and operate at such an entirely, dare I say it, alien level from normal humans or even other Oricerans, that they accomplish a tremendous amount in a rather compressed time frame. To explain, for example, 90% if this book takes place within an approximate 5 hour window.

It’s the sheer amount of storytelling that takes place in that timeframe that’s amazing. Little details like a sip of coffee give rise to a page or two of health advice, characters’ inner fears and a staring contest for the ages. And, who knew smiley faces could have such an underlying significance for some?

It’s flighty, undisciplined, argumentative and takes turns when you least expect it, but this series is some of the most fun you will ever have without ever leaving your seat. So pick it up and be prepared to laugh.

One word of warning, however…. Never…NEVER mess with Rodrigo if you value your life. Just sayin’

This book definitely earned its 5 stars!

Trying their best to do the job of Army MPs, so that they'd get the opportunity to visit the Base Prison Cells, in order to question the four Magicals they had caught for Major Winter, Z, Domino, and Echo try to stay on the human's idea of the straight and narrow.

The trouble is, it's not in THEIR nature to do this, and far too many mistakes happen, which sets them back into having to wait even longer.

But, finally, the three Pixies get their chances, and are given the simple job of going into town, to apprehend a drunk and disorderly soldier, and deal with him no

And, thus, the madness, merriment, and magic, begins!

This book gave me everything the previous ones had been promising, and I was riveted by the story unfolding.

The Pixies got into, and out of, trouble, as only they can, and it was more a merry go round, than a roller coaster ride, full of laughter, misunderstandings, and a general inability of the Pixies, to understand most of the behaviour of the Humans surrounding them.

I was utterly happy with this book, and really look forward to reading book five next: 'The Pixie Soldiers', which I'll start reading sometime tomorrow, as it's Silly O'clock again, and I need to sleep.

But, once I've read the new book, I'll catch you on the flip side, to let you know what I thought of it!

If it's ANYTHING like this book, then I'm sure I will!.

So much giggle-out-loud fun!

What do you get when you put 3 pixies in the US Army? I'm not sure but it makes me laugh! The cultural misunderstandings alone are hysterical. Add in mangled idioms, bored pixies, and ignorant humans and you get a whole heap of trouble. The pixies never do learn how to do things the "military way" but they manage to fake it pretty close.

While I genuinely love this whole series, and approximately 80% of the time the word "whoa" is spelled correctly, sometimes it gets mangled. Not to be hypercritical, but it jolts me right out of my immersion in the story. Please, please fix this issue!
You know I'll reread the whole series, sooner or later, so I have no trouble changing my rating to 5 stars.
Excellent character development, established world (Oriceran shared world), and really cool storyline. 7/10 unicorns. Could be 9...

Pixie antics

Z, Dominic and Echo are learning to be MPs and trying to keep their antics to a minimum. I really enjoy the interaction between the three and the antics they get up to for both fun and not totally understanding humans. The confusion they cause the other members in their unit is a blast. I am looking forward to the next book in the series to see what other troubles they get into.

didn’t expect to like

I was fully planning on giving this book three stars. But, you’ve worn me down and I love Z and her cousins. They’ve sort of become reasonable MP and are about to find real purpose.

MPs finally

Z, Dom and Echo finally get to be real MPs but how will they do? They are sent out to bring in a drunk soldier. Well there is a major adventure involved in doing that!

Ho hum

Not what I was hoping for. Three stars because it isn't baaadd. Small continuity errors and more details than action.

They Went Thataway!

The Thor brooks are given their first unsupervised assignment and, predictably had several twists sideways. Then Major Winters came back.
