Bad Girl Lessons

Rate this book
Evangeline Harper has been everyone's good girl. But after being dumped at the altar by her fiancé, Evie decides it's time to stop playing by the rules and have some fun. There's only one problem... she doesn't know how. But one of her oldest friends, Jackson Cope, is just the man to teach her. Hotter than a Georgia tent revival in July, Jackson has had a starring role in every erotic fantasy Evie has ever had. Can she convince the local bad boy to help transform her from a slightly pudgy, former debutante into a wanton, sex kitten?

Jackson's been secretly in love with Evie since they were kids, but she was always off limits to the likes of him. Now she's offering him everything he's ever wanted, but only as friends with benefits. Planning to seduce her into his life on a permanent basis, he starts out with hot, steamy lessons on how to walk on the wild side. When Evie's former fiancé shows up, trying to woo her and her trust fund back to save his sorry hide from the Dixie Mafia, it's up to Jackson to protect her from danger. But who will protect him from a broken heart?

Toe Curling, Leg Crossing, and Lip Biting HOT!

Wow! I absolutely loved this book. Captured immediately to Evie's character as she deals with being left at the alter on her wedding day. I think there is a little Evie in all of us at times weather we realize it or not. As a reader I totally connected with the reality of her feelings and of her self conscious doubts towards the inner self. We all deep down worry about our looks, our weight and size, and acceptance from society. The author did an excellent job capturing the emotional take in our real world reality.

Jackson is not only the true hero in this book but a true hero for all of our real world reality. A real man loves you no matter your flaws and doesn't try to change who you are and this book showed us a great glimpse of what a real hero should be like. He won me over with his sexiness, his bad boy treatment with some light playful BDSM of spanking, hand cuffs, and hard core bedroom talk. I was so ready to be his bad girl and take some lessons - LOL

The story and it's plot kept me glued to the pages in this short novella and had me smiling through out the whole book except for the part when all the excitement came into play with Trevor the guy who left Evie at the alter. I was so fired up I was ready for revenge and was so ready to reach into the story and take him out myself - LOL Of course this is only a story but the reality is we see this in our real life world and it is always bittersweet in the end of these situations. I loved the HEA and only wanted to know more about Evie and Jackson's life as they gave their small town society more to gossip about.

Excellent Read!

4/5 hotness rating

Bad Girl Lessons is an erotic romantic suspense novella by Seraphina Donavan. It's not only a story about walking on the wild side but also one of self discovery.

Evie was sick of being a good girl. Where had it gotten her? Left at the alter that's where. So now it was time for a change. Maybe if she learned to be bad she'd finally have a chance to be happy.

Jackson Cope was floored when Evie asked him for "bad girl lessons". He'd been seriously smitten with her for years. Would he be able to guard his heart if he gave her what she wanted when she only wanted to be bed buddies?

I had THE BEST TIME reading this! How could I not when "The first lesson in being bad is knowing how to take your punishment."? Sounds good right? LOL! I'd take lessons from him anytime! Here's another lesson that Jackson teaches: Every bad girl has to know how to do the walk of shame. I can do that! But seriously, I loved how Evie's "lessons" gave her the self confidence to be who she wanted to be instead who people wanted her to be. The way that her mother and Trevor made her feel about herself was shameful.

Something else about this story that spoke to me was the relationships between the characters. Not only were the relationships between the primary characters well defined but the relationships between the secondary characters were as well. Evie's relationship with her parents was very interesting. While she was daddy's little girl she was a source of disappointment for her mother. Her relationship with her BFF was awesome. I loved how Evie's girl encouraged and supported her. When they were talking about Jackson, it was girl talk at it's best! The most important relationship though, the one between our hero and heroine, was the best by far. Jackson and Evie fit together perfectly. Jackson's love a devotion did wonders for Evie. And the sparks?Man, they were flying!

The suspense storyline in Bad Gil Lessons was something that I was skeptical about at first. I wasn't sure if Seraphina would be able to handle it. I needn't have worried though because she pulled it off flawlessly. I never knew what was going to happen next or when Trevor would pop up. All the little plot twists and elements kept me on my toes. It was very engaging.

Point blank, this is the best erotic romantic suspense that I've ever read. My advice is simple : READ IT!

"How bad do you want to be, Evangeline?"
"As bad as I can be."

Evie is humiliated on her wedding day as her douchebag of a fiance, Trevor, leaves her at the altar for her bitch cousin. She finds herself on the dock of the only guy whose always been there for her, the town bad boy, Jackson Cope.
"You said that if I ever got tired of being everybody's good little girl, I should come and look you up."

Jackson finally gets the break he needs, he's been secretly in love with Evie since they were kids, long before his asshole cousin stole her right from under him. He gives her a taste of what being bad feels like and she's drawn to it like a moth to a flame
"You really walked in here without a stitch on under that skirt, didn't you?"

With the help of Jackson, Evie is starting to see how beautiful she really is, no thanks to her mom and her ex-fiance
"The way I look, the way I speak, the way I dress, everything about me has been picked apart and I'm done!"

Evie runs into problems when Trevor try's to get back together with Evie, and things begin to unravel... the sneaky bastard was up to something and whatever it was called on every protective instinct in Jackson's body
"I just take care of what's mine."
She raised an eyebrow at that. "Yours? Since when?"
"Since the moment you laid back on that dock and lifted that white satin dress for me."

Jackson can teach me how to be bad any day, he was equal parts bad and yummy
"Bad boy he might be, but he was still a southern gentleman."

It was a good read, quick but satisfying, there was some drama along the way, some suspense and adventure, goodie for a freebie!

For those of you that know me... and those that don't this is my little statement about short books.... I do not judge short stories on the rush of their relationships, because they are just that - short stories. So, yes the relationships always could have been drawn out more, yea it seems like they fall in love to fast and of course the story could have been made longer... but it is a short story. So with that said.... here is my review..

Okay, I have posted my warning... and to reinforce my warning, I read this book in one day... Actually, one evening. It really was that good... It was hot, it was fast, and it was a pleasurable ride! Now, with the statement of it being a short story, I kinda had to overlook the fact that it was written quickly. I don't mean the author popped this story out in fifteen minutes... No... I just mean the events take place very quickly. The story is a very good storyline and Ms Seraphina did a very good job at giving me all the details, even though it was a short story. She gave me everything I would have expected.

If you read the blurb up there.... Then you know most of the story, so what I am going to do is sell Evie and Jackson's story to you because I believe that you will be just as satisfied as me ~ The Smutty Hussy. Evie is truly a woman after my own heart... She is not your typical size zero... Nope, she is a woman built like me! She has curves, she has handles and she knows how to use them... Well, actually she didn't until Jackson showed her how much he appreciated her womanly form! She was not taught to enjoy her body, she was not taught to love herself for who/what she was.... She had a mother from hell and a fiance from the underneath of hell. So you can only imagine what living with the two of them would do to any person... So a big girl... Well, she was always conscience of her figure... But when she took an offer Jackson offered.... All bets were off!!

Now Jackson.... Hell, he could give me a bad girl lesson any day that ends in Y!!!! He is one man that flipped switches, creamed my Twinkies... and any other part of my body he would like to touch. He is just a walking wet dream! But damn the man is also very protective of what is his! And when he knows that he has a chance with Evie... Well... let's just say that a Bad Girl Lesson is not all we get!

This truly is a great story!!!!!!!!!! It is worth the read!

After reading the blurb I wasn’t sure what to expect - but after finishing this story, I certainly got more than I bargained for... I loved it!! Giggled – awed, gasped and may have even had a tingle or two...

Evie was left at the alter – jilted – alone... She decides after being good for so long it was time to put that all aside and she hits on the town bad boy Jackson Cope. This was Jackson’s fantasy come true – bad girl lessons to a girl his heart and loins had throbbed for years...
Jackson takes Evie on a lesson by lesson and step by step how to be a bad girl... First up – how to take your punishment!! OH MY!!! I was as excited as Evie I think for this one lol.

Jackson Cope – takes Evie on a world of discovery – to heights she has never been to, and also gives Evie the self-confidence she has never had. Mind blowing sex, and feelings she has never felt before. She even becomes quiet the dare devil and loves it... *( snickers ) * Jackson Cope was sexy as sin !!!

Evie and Jackson’s relationship was like yin and yang they fit so perfectly together and this was all well-defined and put forth in the story. All emotions were well portrayed and described. However Jackson is concerned that this friends with benefits may only just be that – he has always had feelings for Evie .

Yes this is a short erotic novella – but the storyline put forth gives it more than just hot sex, it’s a well scripted - intergrading all aspects within the storyline to produce a fluent flowing script and well outlined plot. Dialogue all flowed smoothly.

Bad Girl Lessons will have you sheepishly grinning, your panties bunching. Certain moments you may also be slightly irked at Evie’s mothers attitude. Whilst her father was there for her, her mother was the absolute opposite.

Suspense was well detailed and Seraphina has conveyed this well.

I’m sure you will enjoy all the characters. A best friend any girl could want, an ex for that exact reason and even the evil villains put forth were exactly that.

A great suspenseful erotic short read.

I really can't complain about a free book but I will say this was many extremes. Jackson extremely loved her since they were 14 but his cousin stole her from under his nose. Evie was extemely the good girl and wasted no time in letting Jackson teach her how to be bad, once her fiance left her at the alter. Her fiance was extremely selfish and it turned out kind of crazy too! The ending was extremely eventful: mafia, kidnapping, ransom, a rescue, someone gets shot and almost dies....I almost couldn't believe what I was reading! All in all it wasn't too bad, I did enjoy some parts. I did enjoy the way Jackson treated Evie, trying to build up her self esteem and protecter her from her awful mother and jerk of an ex-fiance. Not bad at all considering it was free!

Where does a good girl go, when she wants lessons in taking a walk on the wild side? She goes looking for a bad boy to give her Bad Girl Lessons.

It's not just an idea, it's the title of a fun, sexy romp by Seraphina Donovan.

Evangeline Harper has already picked out the bad boy she wants to be her teacher. It's the bad boy she's always wanted, Jackson Cope.

Jackson is the local heartthrob. Local football hero, and grown-up bad boy. Jackson's always been her Evie's friend, and nothing more. She might have always wanted more, but he's always had prettier, skinnier girls available.

This time, Evie's waiting on the dock outside his bar with an offer she's hoping Jackson won't refuse. She wants him to teach her to be a bad girl. And she doesn't care what anyone thinks. She already knows she isn't skinny enough for her mother, and she obviously wasn't pretty enough for her fiancee.

He just left her at the altar while he ran off with her cousin. Evie is sitting on Jackson Cope's dock in her wedding dress.

And Jackson Cope thinks that curvy, voluptuous Evie is the sexiest thing he's ever seen. He always has. Always.

And the man who jilted her was his cousin Trevor. Whom Jackson hates with a passion. And it's mutual.

Out there on that dock Jackson gives Evie a tiny taste of the pleasure she's been missing. And then he lets her go to think about whether she really wants what she's asked him for. Think about it with a clear head. Because he knows that once he finally gets the girl he's wanted since he was fourteen, he's never going to be able to let her go.

And he's going to make sure she enjoys being a bad girl so much, that she forgets what it was like to ever be good.

There's only a few problems with Jackson's plan. After his cousin's behavior, Evie can't believe that any man would want her for keeps, let alone the town heartbreaker. She thinks Jackson is all about the fun.

And Trevor comes back for Evie, and not in a good way.

Escape Rating B+: This is one of those stories where you think you're going to read just a little, and can't stop until you're done. If you're looking for a story to sweep you away for an hour, this is a good one.

Evie is sweet and wounded, and the scene with her on the dock in her wedding dress is absolutely priceless. She's hurt and angry and she wants to lash out and Jackson is her best friend and her deepest crush. She has absolutely nothing to lose at that point, so why not go for the one man she's always secretly wanted? I really enjoyed watching Evie come into her own.

And Jackson? Every not-perfect princess wants to find a bad boy like Jackson who loves her just as she is. It was terrific to have a hero love a woman who was not a size 2 for a change.

Let's just say that there is a romantic suspense element added when Trevor re-appears. And that Trevor gets everything that's coming to him.

If you're going to break all the rules, I guess going with the local "sexpert" is your best bet! Hee! That's right! Evie decides to indulge her inner bad girl and let Jackson show her how to set the town gossips on their ear. From some light bondage to sex in a public (yet secluded) field, Jackson knows how to give Evie what she wants.

But it's not all sexy shenanigans! Evie's mother is overbearing and more worried about her social standing than about how Evie was just left at the alter. Evie's ex-fiance is a douchebag of the highest order. Jackson is determined to take each day as it comes. There's scandal and a brush with organized crime, threats and the potential for bodily harm.

Oh, and there's some smokin' sex. *thumbs up* to that!

Okay Girls, by the time you finish this story you will want a Jackson to put on your shelf. All I can say is Evie is one lucky girl to be loved so good. These two were childhood friends that lost their way do to a meddling family & a community that labeled people without knowing the facts. So, when Evie gets dumped by Jackson's cousin (weird yes) she goes to the only person who never labeled her the "good fat girl." You got it Jackson. Watch this romantic, erotic, & funny but real (as far as feeling & thoughts of BBW.) Finally a story not just total Erotica when it comes to a BBW. Yes, there were some misspellings but not bad. Was it totally believable no but it's fiction. I had fun reading it.

I enjoyed the walk on the wild side that Evangeline took with Jackson. I loved the way the story kicked off and her sitting on the dock and his plan that i haphazardliy put together as they went along. The characters were well developed and i like how the past was eased in places along the story to explain Evangeline's behavior or feelings towards Jackson. It would make us all want a little help to walk on the wild side. Great story.

short and sweet!
I liked the hero....an independently wealthy layabout...in his own words. The h and H in this book were cute together. The build up for this story was not extensive but then it is a very predictable story. The whole gunfight-mafia thing at the end seemed tacked on....this is no romantic suspense book. But for a short read about two sweet people who realize their feelings for one another, a pleasant book.

Slight Spoilers

Bad Girl Lessons by Seraphina Donovan is the first book in a two part series called Gresham County. The premise to this story was good; longtime friends who had secret feeling for one another finally get together - I'm a sucker for that type of story, so of course I had to read this book.

It was a decent read. It went the way I expected it to. Unfortunately, it didn't "wow" me. There were a ton of grammatical/spelling errors, and that's a big no-no for me. I can ignore one or two, but this book had a lot of mistakes and it kept taking me out of the story. Also, the story itself I feel could have gone through another round of editing. Some parts didn't have a strong enough voice for me, personally.

There were a few things in the story that were glossed over, that I wish they would have discussed, like the fact that Jackson had been in love with Evie since he was fourteen. It was mentioned to her twice, and both times the character decided not to give it a second thought. You would think if the man that you have been secretly pining for all these years confessed that he had been doing the same thing, you would have some type of reaction. And even if you didn't believe him, and thought he was just saying that to get into your pants, then the fact that one of his friends told you the same thing later on would make you think that maybe there was some truth to it.

As the title suggests, this is an erotic romance and as far as the sex scenes go, they were fine. Not great, not terrible, just fine.

I did enjoy the two main characters, and even the villain of the story - Trevor. This book had some heavy scenes with Trevor and Evie. I'm used to bad guys trying to kill the heroine and whatnot, but I'm not used to almost-rape or domestic violence type scenes. I actually enjoyed them, because they made the story real. These things happen; ex boyfriends come after their ex girlfriends and manhandle them and beat them if they refuse to get back together with them. The author gave just enough detail to keep you riveted but not so much that you were disgusted and had to walk away - so kudos for that!

Uncensored comments straight from Kindle:

1. Now I know what too much head hopping can really do. This book serves as a lesson and reminder.
2. They're like practically best friends and she didn't realize he was a sweet guy?
3. Not a fan of the word "sheath" - and to my chagrin, she used it multiple times.
4. “Yeah, you’re good at that. There’s never been a woman you couldn’t walk away from.” - Well, that came out of nowhere. The author doesn't really go into much detail about their past, how they grew up, the fact that Jackson was a womanizer, how Evie felt about it, etc. So for Evie to just throw that out there without any sort of preamble really caught me off guard. It didn't fit.
5. Are you F-ing kidding me, Trevor!?
6. Where the hell is Reed!?

As I said, overall, it was a decent read. I wouldn't mind reading another one of her stories. Maybe I'll read the second part of this series.
