Overall the book is ok. There were a few topics that I was not impressed with. One topic was " How to hand feed birds". This is never a good thing to teach birds to feed out of your hand. Just because you may have innocent intentions. The next person may not have these same intentions. The second topic that was wrong. "How to get close to nesting birds". This is another horrible topic to teach. It is never good to get close to nesting birds. This is the most stressful time of the year for them.
I liked the variety of information offered--from species highlights to mythology to possible excursions to backyard tips. I liked how they organized it with different type topics for each day of the week.
I don't think that I would read it through again, but the index will help it be a nice reference.
Enjoyable romp through various aspects of birding, from highlighting particular species, advice on backyard birding, places to see birds around the world, birds in books and mythology, and more. I didn’t follow it as a daily guide like intended, but read it though over a couple months.
