Gosho Aoyama (青山剛昌) is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known as the creator of the manga series Detective Conan (known in the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom as Case Closed).
Aoyama made his debut as a manga artist with the work Chotto Matte which was published in the weekly magazine Shōnen Sunday on winter of 1987. Shortly after that, another work by Aoyama, Magic Kaito, was published on the same magazine.
3 stars for you Kaito Kid. Even if i'm giving this manga lots of 3 stars rating, i still love it as a whole. Or I would be crazy for wasting my time on something i dislike. Hopefully cases will be more interesting and convincing later on.
1. we continue on with the murder case in the inn for stargazing, our usual filler case if u ask me.
2. then we have the case of HANDSOME GUY! who turns out to be the killer! i hate it! but i love the entire case tbh. i actually listened to Requiem, nice piece.
3. Conan decipher the code 0858 which is an email address of the vermouth's boss? i have to say conan has high concentration for cracking this one.
4. we move the case of the Nio Treasure was amazing plot twist!! and i loooooved how Hibara said that kaito kid has a heart of gold cute! i hope i see hibara+conan+kaitokid in anothe case !!
The Stradivarius violin case was good, but the best case in this volume was easily the one with Kaito Kid. Not because of him in particular because I LOVE KAITO KID but because it was sweet yet amusing to see him helping the Detective group.
The last, unfinished case was hilarious because Conan thinks Ran is onto his true identity and hence is making angry comments throughout.
This volume begins in a mysterious Stradivarius murder mystery. This is the cover story and fitting. I honestly thought that this story was much bigger than I anticipated. The next story deals with the Kaito Kid and the search for a diamond….and a murder mystery! This story stars the Junior Detectives. For some reason I found the story unengaging…or maybe I should say I felt unengaged while reading it. The art as always beautiful and has been consistent throughout the series. I think I need to pay homage to how after reading this many volumes the art is always great and the characters always engaging. Paying homage where homage is due! This volume ends with the beginning of a new case in which a woman they had just had a strange case on winds up dead. This is how the book ends…in true cliff-hanger fashion.
The mystery of the violin and a series of murders that follow each other like the notes of a musical scale. Thanks to an orderly with perfect pitch, Conan manages to discover the sequence of numbers that Vermouth typed into her mobile phone while she thought Conan was asleep, which correspond to the e-mail address of the boss of the Men in Black or the Ravens. In the second story, Kaito Kid goes on a treasure hunt for a large jewel. The competition between the detective and the gentleman thief is never-ending.
General Synopsis: As mentioned above, I am going to write a proper review for this soon, but I have a few books ahead of this one in the queue, so I cannot stop reading DC NOW! That's sacrilege. I have decided to read all the chapters available up to now (we are almost to 1000!) As you can see, I am totally fangirling over here and I don't care, because this is one of my favorite manga series, ever! But all of this aside, there are a few things I wanted to list so I don't need to go back and look everything up when I do finally sit down and write my fangirl review. ✌🏻
DO NOT click on the spoiler link if you don't want to read all the cases in this volume, because it will ruin it for you. On the other hand, if you're a fan like me or are looking for a certain case (and please note, these are how I have set the cases), etc. click away, that's why it's there.
Another spoiler link, so don't click if you don't want to ruin this manga. I am going to include the characters introduced or as the series continues are in this volume. Personally, I think us DC fans love certain characters more than other (yes, Heiji, I mean you!), so sometimes when we are re-reading this series (like all the time!) you might wish to start at a specific case or start when a certain character is involved.
Characters in this volume:
Personal Opinion: #1, I never call this CASE CLOSED. If you do, you're not a true fan of this series, so don't even bother reading my review or my personal opinions. I'm sorry if I offend you, but you offended me first by telling me you want to read CASE CLOSED or you just love Jimmy.
#2, as you can tell by #1, I read this online. I would never waste my money buying a manga series in english that cannot get the name correct and mess up the main characters to make it appear more "ENGLISH." I am so happy I don't run a blog and this isn't a review on Sailor Moon, #1, because I have a huge soap box tirade against DiC. I also don't think there is anything against reading something online. Comics, which is what manga are, are meant to be read and shared and sometimes paying over $10 is too much in my opinion. Plus, I read the newest chapters as soon as they are released from Japan, because I would never miss a release of DC. So this is my personal shout out to you translators from me, Thank You!
MOUNTAIN MYSTERY: THE ASTRONOMICAL OBSERVATION TURNED DEADLY What was meant to be a peaceful night of stargazing takes a grim turn when Conan and his friends stumble upon decayed bones and a box of cigarettes near a pension deep in the mountains. The discovery hints at the long-missing fiancé of one of the guests. Tensions rise further when, later that night, a magazine staff member is found murdered, leaving behind a similar cryptic dying message. Conan must decode the message before another victim falls.
THE STRADIVARIUS CURSE: A DEADLY MELODY A granddaughter of a wealthy family enlists Kogoro to uncover the truth behind a series of mysterious accidents linked to a Stradivarius violin. Every time someone attempts to play it for the family’s patriarch on his birthday, tragedy strikes. As another deadly fire breaks out and a family member perishes, Conan pieces together a chilling pattern—the victims are being killed in the order of the C Concert scale. The horror culminates when the grief-stricken grandmother, haunted by past loss, shatters the violin and plunges to her death from a window.
THE PUPPET MASTER'S LEGACY: A TREASURE HUNT WITH DEADLY STAKES A camping trip takes a sinister turn when Conan and the Detective Boys discover a stone lantern in a pond, inscribed with cryptic writing. Their investigation unearths the body of a murdered treasure hunter and hints at a legendary diamond hidden within the booby-trapped house of Kichiemon, a master puppeteer. With Kaitou Kid rumored to be on the same hunt, the group navigates deadly traps and encounters rival treasure seekers. Conan’s quick thinking saves them from certain death, leading to the shocking discovery of Kichiemon’s grave and the final pieces of the treasure’s puzzle.
Originally, I held off on reviewing this volume, so I could read Vol.47 as well, since the last case of this volume concludes in Vol.47. This manga series using that formula is both a blessing and a curse. While it does allow longer stories about cases and leave you immediately wanting the next volume...if you cannot immediately afford to purchase the next volume, it leaves you feeling like there was no reason for you to even read the last 25% of this one. -------------------------- First, we are presented with a case involving a family of musicians, all of whom seem to want to get their hands on the family heirloom, a violin worth "millions". Seems that those who play it end up being killed. But, after it is discovered that the first letter of the killed people equate the musical scale, it is easy to realize who is doing it. Open-and-Shut case! The next case is not as simple, and involves treasure hunters, a creepy house, and an appearance of the Kaito Kid! Lastly, we start a case about a cheating woman that loses her cell phone. It concludes in the next volume. -------------------------- This volume was presented to me as an eManga by VIZ Media, via Edelweiss, in exchange for an honest review. All opinions expressed here are my own.
Conclusion of astronomer case. Then, Mouri (with Conan and Ran) are asked to break a curse on a Stradivarius only bodies start dropping! It seems like a series of terrible accidents, but Conan knows it's a serial murderer. Conan recognizes tones heard when Vermouth was texting the boss, and tries to figure out how the tones translate to a cell phone number. Next, the Junior Detectives on a camping trip stumble on a body, and a treasure map, leading to a house full of booby traps and treasure hunters, including a disguised Kaito Kid. The cliffhanger starts with Ran discovering her texts to Shinichi are going to Conan's phone and naturally concludes that Shinichi is sleeping with another woman (?). While Conan tries to figure out how to deal with that, Mouri is called on a case (with Conan and Ran) to find a woman's cell phone before she gets a text from her lover - she believes her husband or a family member has taken it to intercept the message. She finds the phone, and everyone leaves, but before they get home they see on the news that she's been murdered!
I followed this series for years, and then a little while ago, got inexplicably bored with it, and stopped. I decided to try and pick it up again, but was still, well, bored.
I think part of the problem is, despite the fact that each mystery is unique, there's only so many times I can see Conan and co. get into stupidly dangerous situations. Even if the plots are all different, it just feels like continuous filler because they never get any closer to turning Conan back to normal.
In other words, this series is a case of Inuyasha Syndrome for me and I'm going to quit while I'm ahead.
This volume of one of my favorite manga is very well written. It fits the end of the case that started in the previous book, two whole cases, and the beginning of a new case. This book does include some Japanese reference and my be confusing to westerners like myself. I don't recommend that younger people read this book because there is murder in this volume. However, this book is not in color, so if you are concerned about the fact that there is blood you should be fine. I will try to post more reviews of this series and keep you updated.
Suka banget sama setting sama alur kasusnya, apalagi yg dirumah kichiemon. Plus disini juga ada kaito kidnya hehehe. Suka bgt juga sm yg kasus biola, pokoknya Conan bener2 favorite komik of all time :D
First time reading manga and thanx to my best friend who bring it to me. I opened this book long time ago and yet had the chance to complete it. Conan is my favorite anime show so more than five stars I give to this stories. It is miscellaneous stories each is different and you will enjoy.
