Charlie Hill is the biggest puzzle at Lakeland Mental Hospital. He claims to have been abducted by aliens, but creative therapist Abby Westin thinks the story is Hill's way of coping with something horrible that happened to him in his past.
When Abby tries to solve the puzzle, using Hill's diary, she finds herself caught up in a conspiracy that includes murder. She runs to the one person she can trust, Hill's best friend Mitch Jackson, but she soon discovers that Jacks knows more than he's admitting about the incident that turned Charlie Hill into a broken man.
I'm a fangirl and TV obsessed writer. I turned my love of TV into a career working as an entertainment reporter. I'm mostly known for my work with Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Supernatural (sensing a theme here).
In addition to covering TV, I also worked behind the scenes as an actress and on the crew of a variety of TV shows and movies. (Ten Inch Hero with Jensen Ackles!)
Now I'm combining my love of fandom with my knowledge of the TV industry to write a series of books set in both worlds.
Jake and Maddy are the stars of a cult hit TV series called Endless Roads, and after a terrible tragedy strikes during one of their con appearances, their lives take a bizarre turn toward the Starsky & Hutch of it all.
If you've ever been so enthralled by an angsty fanfic that you didn't want to end - you'll want to read Fanon.
Charlie Hill is a patient at Lakeland Mental Hospital. Abby Westin is his creative therapist and has encouraged him to keep a diary. This seemingly innocent diary propels Abby into a murder investigation and a conspiracy of unknown proportions. Mitch Jackson is Charlie Hill’s best friend who becomes Abby’s ally and protector as they begin to unravel the mystery revealed within the diary.
Saving Hill is a fast paced book containing twists and turns that will plunge you deep into the story. The mystery unfolded throughout the book kept me engaged and eager to find out more.
The character descriptions succeed in making the story believable and the dialogue is intense and filled with human drama and compassion. I experienced a sense of dread mixed with hope as the story unfolded.
The reference to CIA brainwashing program which operated in the 60’s is truly eye-opening and horrific. It recalls the inhumane and tortured treatment of soldiers unwittingly involved in this program.
I recommend this book, it is a quick and intriguing read that will leave you reflecting even after the book has ended.
