I have to give this five stars because it's the first book I ever purchased with my own money. It was a big moment and I still remember picking the book out and paying for it -- and I still have my copy of this book (censored) years later! A cute story with adorable pictures, it satisfied my mania for all things cat. Mimi is looking for a home, and can't find one... because every home she goes to already has a cat! But the man who runs the merry-go-round might be able to help her out...
Even now, xxx years later, I love this book. Knowing I like "Mimi" books (I don't have to explain this, do I?) a dear friend found me another copy of this sweet tale. So much to love about it, not the least of which, the man is caring and loving. It would have the usual to have a woman find her, but this shows kids that both men and woman have warm caring centers. I agree with others, this should definitely be reprinted!
What date do I put for reading? The first time? the second, the one in this century? oooo, doesn't that make me feel old!
I sincerely hope that somehow this charming, heartfelt children's book finds it's way back into our modern times. It's universal message of seeking a place to truly belong & to be loved by others is timeless. I sought this out all over the internet after losing my much beloved & sadly misplaced childhood copy went missing. It is a simple, straight forward little story that every child can (and should) embrace. (My date read is based on when I read it for myself on my birthday...)
This is a heartwarming story about a curious cat named Mimi who loves to explore the world around her. The simple yet captivating narrative brings Mimi’s playful spirit to life. The story teaches young readers about curiosity, friendship, and the excitement of trying new things. This is an imaginative tale that will enchant children.
This was one of the first books ever read to me and I fell in love with it. My mother tells how she had to buy multiple copies because I loved it so much it fell apart. It was probably one of the first stories I ever memorized.
This is such a cute little book. The illustrations are adorable. Mimi gets lonely and wants her own person once she realizes all her kitty friends have people. She looks around and finds a man who runs a carousel who wants to take care of her. Seriously super adorable.
