Aww, I love Max, Bel and Violet. It was great to see them again. But what was even greater was Freya's story. Absolutely lovely. The third story was okay, but I don't know anyone. Have I missed a book? Do read White Wedding before these stories though. There's an extract here from A Winter Flame. I've already read that and thoroughly enjoyed it too.

4 stars.

This was very cute and warm and fuzzy, but I don’t feel like it’s on par with Johnson’s other shorts, particularly ‘Here Come The Boys’ which had me genuinely rolling with laughter. This felt rushed by comparison. Having finished ‘White Wedding’ last night, the Max section of this felt like it should have been the epilogue to that.

I LOVED Freya’s back story, although how can she be in her seventies if she was married when the war finished in 1945???? She’d be in her 90’s, right??

Anyway. I wish the Max part had been the epilogue to White Wedding and this had been all about Freya and what happened to her and Victor afterwards and maybe a few other shorts about people who wore Freya’s dress.

Also, I didn’t know the characters in the last little short, so I’m assuming they’re from a book I haven’t read yet, and when I do get to it, I will find this extremely cute and endearing. For now I’m like “Who are these people though?”

Overall, very cute, could have been longer, could have been formatted better, still loved it.

So glad Bookworman advised me to read this! Loved how Max matured and re-structured her wedding plans in part one of the book.

Freya's part of the story was illuminating as well in the second section of this novella. Freya's history was briefly mentioned in White Wedding. Her and Vincent's relationship brought some closure for me.

The last part of the novella was confusing but it might relate to one of the four season stories Ms. Johnson wrote? Might be a good time for me to re-read them!

This book can be read in one sitting. But I agree with the author's warning not to read it before White Wedding since it is a sequel and will have spoilers.

Beautiful, absolutely beautiful. PLEASE don't read this before you read Milly's "White Wedding." This is a sequel to White Wedding, three short stories but two give details that make White Wedding more special. I loved it, having loved White Wedding.

These were my first experiences of Milly Johnson but it won't be my last. The delightful light but meaningful reading leaves you feeling satisfied and happy with a wish to keep reading such beautifully written work.

Glad to have read these short stories.

It was nice to get a little follow up on Max’s ending, and to read a snippet of Freya’s story.

Although I enjoyed it, it would’ve been nice to get maybe a chapter of Bel’s and Violet’s endings so we had the chance to see what came of their futures.

Overall a nice little addition to the story.

I liked "The Wedding Dress" but I don't think I"m a lover of short stories I read it in one go along with the other story plus the preview chapter. I love Milly Johnsons books they are more substantial I can get lost in them

Quick story but I love Milly Johnson, although on this occasion, a bit too short for me.

I was disappointed by these. Badly edited with mistakes which leapt off the page ("camera's" and "Her eyes were avoiding hers (sic 'his'), darting from side to side so (sic) see how (sic) was watching them both ......") and little substance to hold the attention. They are short stories which is a form I don't really like but, even so, I expected more. I am going to read a Milly Johnson novel next because I really want to like her work after meeting such an entertaining person.

A great taster of her next novel - can't wait for that Christmas theme park! The short stories, it has to be said, are atrociously edited and no great shakes anyway - but dying for the christmas read...
