Aaron’s father confronts his past demons and falls further into darkness and despair. It will take a miracle for Aaron and his brother to find out the truth and set the family on a path of faith and forgiveness. As our journey of the DeAngelis family comes to a close, we visit one man’s tragic past which has set the course of an entire lifetime of misery. With faith as the answer, a new life and redemption are close at hand. Hello, I am Karen Malena. Allow me to take you on the journey of my creativity. An avid reader since fourth grade, I have found solace and comfort in books to ease the sometimes irregular paths of life. With a childhood filled with difficult moments, books were the much needed friends to soothe and lessen the loneliness and pain. Faith has been the most important catalyst in the turbulent sea of life. Without it, I would not be able to share with my readers the situations which will help lessen their own trials. Let me take you by the hand, and give me the chance to encourage you with stories which I hope will leave you inspired, thoughtful, and blessed. Karen Malena comes from a close, Italian family, and is married to a humorous Italian man. She has worked in the dental field for thirty years. Always dreaming of becoming an author, she had her first e book, Son of Mine: From Suicide to Hope, Volume I published in the fall of 2011.
With a vivid imagination, the lessons learned in childhood, and the love of a close, Italian family, Karen began writing heartfelt, inspirational fiction novels, one which closely follows many of the conversations she and her mother shared through the years: Reflections From my Mother’s Kitchen: A Journey of Healing and Hope.
When her mother began showing signs of Alzheimer’s- type- dementia in the last several years, Karen once again stepped into the role of caregiver for her aging parents along with the help of a wonderful brother. It was watching the love between her parents into the golden years which inspired her fiction novels about dementia: Love Woven in Time, and Love Finds a Way.
Karen has been active mentoring young writers, speaking at local libraries, schools, and care facilities. Recently she became a member of AlzAuthors, a loving community of writers dedicated to encouraging caregivers and family members of loved ones with dementia and Alzheimer's. Karen is a passionate advocate for the elderly.
Her walk with God has given her the inspiration to blog about losing her parents and their family’s journey from grief to healing and other heartfelt, encouraging tales.
Several of Karen’s stories were recently chosen by Guidepost’s sister magazines for publication. “The Earrings” appeared in Mysterious Ways magazine, “The Memory Blanket,” in Angels on Earth, and "Merry Christmas Mom and Dad,” as well as a few others.
She has written several other books, Piggy, a fun cat story which showcases friendship and carries an anti-bullying message, and Sound of Silence, a cautionary dystopian tale about a society forbidden to utter the spoken word. Karen also is part of an anthology about rescue cats, entitled Rescued Two: The Healing Stories of Twelve Cats Through Their Eyes.
Karen is a member of Pittsburgh East Scribes writer’s group and Ligonier Valley Writers.
This is my personal favorite in the Son series. Deals with some pretty tough issues, lots of true to life realism and feelings. This book will make you think about your own relationships and loved ones. It may help you forgive someone who has hurt you as you come to realize everyone does indeed have a story.
