Patrick Hayward isn’t used to feeling helpless. He’s a man of action used to controlling his destiny. But falling in love with Emma Scarlett had a way of upending everything, his sanity included.

Locked away as inmate number one-three-seven-oh for a crime he didn’t commit, Patrick spends his days slopping toxic sludge onto trays, resisting the urge to tear the scratchy, orange jumpsuit from his body, and making sure every hardened criminal behind bars with him knows he’s the biggest and baddest of them all. With the help of his handy little gift of teleportation, his nights are spent watching a certain green eyed goddess from the shadows.

When he discovers a couple of Inheritors stalking her one night, he realizes the obstacle of explaining who and what he is to Emma might not be the biggest battle they face.

I have mixed feelings about this book. On one hand I liked it very, very much. It was cute. It had the potential to be great, fantastic even but there were so many plot holes. I didn't get a background story or explanations. I would like a rewrite please. Lol.

4 I heart Patrick stars <3

Fusion starts shortly after Fissure left off... Patrick is doing time for a crime he didn't commit, spending the days in prison with his roommate, Mr. Rogers and his nights teleporting to spend time with his family and secretly check up on Emma. Everything is going okay, his four month sentence is almost over. That is until an enemy of the Hayworth's find out how important Emma is to Patrick. He finds a few immortals stalking her. Patrick scares them off then puts his three brothers on a rotating guard Emma duty. But then, Emma sees Patrick... when he is supposed to be locked up in jail.

This leads to a lot of questions. Patrick has to come clean with Emma about his and his families immortal life. With the help of Bryn, Emma starts to come to term with it all. She and Patrick are going to figure out a way to make it work. Their relationship gets a little hotter in this book... But with his immortality, there are possible complications...
"You really think sleeping together would be worth dying for?"
"Hell's yeah," I said, my eyes widening. "There is no better or more honorable way for a man to go."
Emma groaned. "Could you stop talking with your hormones for five seconds,"
"No promises." I replied.

Just as everything starts to get under control, another problem arises. Emma and my favorite Hayworth brother get kidnapped. Of course, Patrick can't be rational, he has to try and save them and ends up walking right into a trap. When everything's all said and done, Patrick has a huge decision to make...
An eternity was nothing when you couldn't spend it with that person. They were just days unfolding one after the other.

I was a little surprised with the direction this book took, but I really enjoyed it! I absolutely loved the ending. Patrick was just as awesome as ever, as was Emma. And I can't forget the supporting characters- I adore all of Patrick's brothers and sisters-in-laws. My only complaint was it was much too short! I wanted more Patrick and Emma! Overall, a worthy 4 star read!

I have all but forgotten about the sequel Fissure had and when i got my hands on Fusion..i was double excited and thanks for Nicole for giving us a refresh of last one at start!

Ok I love patrick and there's no denying it ..he may be flirt, cocky, smartass, playboy and have the most weirdest sense of humor-which BTW makes him swoon worthy apart from the sexy body-but when it comes to protecting HIS girl and family...he becomes man of steel to face hard on any ..any hurdles to save them.

So when pat thinks being behind the bars for a crime he didn't commit, being far away from emma and family and dreading how will emma react to his secrets..is the Biggest problem he has...think again..cos when past comes clashing into present..and when danger is lurking near emma...the only thing in his mind is to do anything to keep her safe even when he has to forgo himself..i loved emma and pat's scenes and hope there was more..but it was beautiful, emotional even with the wicked sense of humor there was love...oh man it was soooo sweet!!

The end...**OMG**! I never thought that last twist would happen..though we were given a hint that it could happen..i didn't thought it would..but well when all ends well...nothing best than it :)..i love the end with Emma and Pat and whole family :)

I know there were little paranormal in it(as i said last time too) but well i am inclined to Contemporary ..sooo..yeah i loved it :-D

Overall it was all what i thought and much much better!!I hope there was more seriously..*sighs*..i am gonna miss Pat:(!

Wanted to love it soooo much but just couldnt
ok, let me preface this by saying I like Nicole Williams, I loved the Eden trilogy, and was beyond ecstatic when Fissure came out. I am a HUGE Patrick fan and was eagerly awaiting Fusion. The first inkling that this was not going to go well is when I loaded the book and realized it was a little over half the length of Fissure and that was including almost the whole last chapter from Fissure to start the book as the preface! I started the book with high hopes that quickly plummeted.
***SPOILER***

***SPOILER***

Spoiler alert!!!!!!!!!!

In a nutshell, Patrick in jail, contrived sounding unremebered from previous books "reversal" conversation, Emma finds out Patrick is immortal and 5 pages later it's all good (really?!?!),Patrick makes soup, Finds note, Emma in danger, Patrick goes mortal. The end. Not much else in between. That's how this book felt, it felt hurried, forced, and incomplete. I guess my best description is just disappointment in this 2 dimensional " let's just wrap this up fest" As much as I was anticipating this book and relieved it was finally released, I would gladly have waited however long it might have taken Ms Williams to get a fully fleshed out character driven story, not a plot driven tidy wrap up of a sensational person such as Patrick. So I'm left feeling deflated, disappointed, and somehow missing Patrick as I remembered him to be. RIP Patrick Hayward

Fusion ( The Patrick Chronicles)
Nicole Williams

First off I loved this book! Saying that we can get started..
Fusion the second and final book for
Patrick chronicles, is amazing. I went thru so many emotions during this book in the end I looked like I lost my family pet!
We pick right up where we left off
In Fissure. Patrick had to do jail time after he confessed to a crime he did not commit.  He of course did this all for Emma Scarlett. His need to protect her and her family is a key factor. In Fusion Emma grew into a strong female character and I really like her. She is bolder. She stood up for herself and I think her love for Patrick - even scared of it gives her strength! Patrick has issues to deal with in this book.. Many but he handles them and in the end you LOVE him more. If that's possible! This story is about Patrick getting his happy ever after.. I'm so glad he did!  He is so funny and caring. Protective of those he loves. In this book he makes choices and he chooses love! Patrick and Emma are one of favorites. I did not like the ending- not because it was not fabulous and beautifully written. It was due to the sobbing that it caused!  I really enjoyed how Nicole brought all my favorite Hayward's into the story too. ( HUGE fan of Eden books! )
Now if you have not read Eden books.. Read them now.. Then get Fissure. Nicole has created such wonderful characters and stories.. Please read!

I have loved every one of the books in this series, yet I just finished the first chapter and I am already ready to put this one down. Based on just the first chapter I already know by the end of it Patrick will be mortal and it's all over. It's not like their supernatural state requires them to kill or drink blood or anything like in most characters, so I don't understand the reason why Patrick would desire to leave the world behind to meet death one day. Why not just bring Emma into his world with Bryn, William, and all of the rest of the Hayward family. I've had many books I enjoyed ruined because the last pages of the series and I have enjoyed this series and family too much to have that happen so I am putting it down now and being done with it.

I'm not even sure how else to start this other than to say she has done it again folks! Nicole Williams has written, once more, an amazing book. I don't even think I could possibly put into words on how well she did. In Fusion, the second and final book of the Patrick Chronicles, we're once again thrown into Patrick Hayward's world. Having to do time in jail for a crime he didn't commit in order to help the family of the woman he loves, he is forced to remain at a distance to Emma Scarlett the woman who's managed (!!!) to make the Patrick Hayward, in all his swag and sexy glory, fall in love with her.
The Eden Trilogy fans will not be disappointed. Our favorite couples all make their appearances again in Fusion, allowing us to once again revel in the amazing Hayward clan. I won't lie, the ending of Fusion had me bawling. It was bitter-sweet and perfect and so amazing that Nicole Williams deserves and award, or ten. Everything drew to a close, a perfect ending to my number one favorite series. I'm so ecstatic Patrick finally got his stories, so extremely happy we got to see more of William and Bryn, Joesph and Cora, and Nathaniel and Abigail.
You can bet I'll be waiting to see what else she writes, while re-reading the Eden Trilogy and the Patrick Chronicles over and over again of course! Thank you Mrs. Williams for giving us the awesomeness that is the Haywards!

Oh goodness. I'm not even sure how else to start this other than to say she has done it again folks! Nicole Williams has written, once more, an amazing book. I finished the book in one day, that's how bad (or good) it grabs you and pulls you into the story. I went from being depressed, to shocked, to fearful, to curious, and to ranting and raving for one of my favorite couples to finally get their happily-ever-after they so deserve. You really also grow to adore Emma Scarlett even more in this book, and appreciate as to how perfect she is for Patrick. She finally gains her back-bone and really comes out as a stronger person then she was in Fissure. I'm all for a strong female lead, so, way to go Emma!!

Patrick himself even morphs in the book. Finally admitting that for once, there's something bigger than him and his ego. And that is true love (que awwww's). Eden series fans are used to hearing William and Bryn (gosh I love those two<3) spewing romantic lines and making us all blush, but I have to say, I adored the sap-filled Patrick. It was kind of cute. Alright, it was extremely adorable (sigh). One of my favorite quotes from the book is, "Armageddon could have raged around us and I wouldn't notice. Emma was my religion, and kissing her was my form of prayer." I think I fell in love with Patrick Hayward all over again!

I even didn't mind revisiting Charles!

I'm going to tell you (demand!) or recommend (hehe) that you go and buy the Eden Trilogy ASAP! If you already haven't, because you're seriously missing out. And don't forget to check out the first book in the Patrick Chronicles, Fissure, if you somehow missed it! Fusion is the perfect ending to them all, and as with any great book, leaves you wanting more and making it hard to say goodbye to the characters you've attached yourself to. Nicole Williams is a brilliant mastermind, who's characters endear themselves to you over and over again. You can bet I'll be waiting to see what else she writes, while re-reading the Eden Trilogy and the Patrick Chronicles over and over again of course! Thank you Mrs. Williams for giving us the awesomeness that is the Haywards!

Damn these ugly tears! My heart can't handle everything I'm feeling right now. Nicole Williams' Eden Trilogy is by far one of my favorite series that I have ever read. Naturally, I was stoked to find out the she wrote a spinoff series with my love Patrick Hayward. Yes, feast your eye on that fine specimen! 600full-travis-fimmel I fell in love with these characters and literally balled my eyes out when I read the last book of that series. I read Fissure, book 1 of the Patrick Chronicles last year and have been dragging my feet ever since to read Fusion. I'm not good with goodbyes. I avoid finishing series because of the gaping hole that is always left in my chest. I will admit that this one was wayyyyy too predictable. I guessed just about every part of the book. I remember sitting there when it all snapped into place in my head. I sat there like a fucking two year old with a pout on my face. POUT! Yes, I'm sad. WHY MUST YOU DO THIS TO ME?! This in no way hindered my enjoyment of the book. I did take my sweet time reading it since it is the last one. Damn, why does it feel like my heart is going to shatter into a million pieces? Please, people, do yourselves a favor and read both of these series. Book one is always free on Amazon and it is frickin amazing!

I'm finished. Yey! It was really a nice ending one. I never thought his going to be mortal. All my questions and doubts has been answered and cleared. Great to know they have kids on their own, but talking about "Goodbye" really scared the hell out of me. They are still both young. At the age of 30 his already a Doctor and by the way I really like the name of Dr. Patrick Haywards, really sexy! Emma is one hell lucky lady I might add. I enjoyed every page of it and its a totally MUST READ guys.

Nicole is there a Book 3 coming out after this? I'm truly satisfied with the ending of this. Hmmp. Again from the bottom of my heart Nicole thank you, its truly an amazing privileged reading all your novels.

Oh, Patrick, how I love thee. Unfortunately, Fusion didn't quite live up to my expectations. Fusion picks up right where Fissure left off with Patrick taking the fall for a crime he didn't commit. The book gets off to a great start with a promising plot that involves a group of Inheritors and Brynn's broadened Taker capabilities. I was bracing for some serious action when I found myself reading pages upon pages of a lovesick Patrick professing his feelings about Emma...it was a bit over-the-top sappy. I prefer the snarky, ass-kicking Patrick! And then there is the climactic ending. Did I like it? Yes. Did I hate it? Yes. I'll miss you Patrick Hayward!

So, first of all let me say that I have LOVED all of Nicole Williams books so far, the Eden series being my favorite. Patrick was one of my favorite characters so after finishing Fissure, I couldn't wait to read Fusion. But, I was extremely disappointed. It took me all of 2 hours to read it, and it really wasn't all that exciting. You could tell how it was going to end from the beginning. She could have really drawn out the book if she had put some exciting twists in it. Over all it was pretty boring. :(

Fusion, the sequel to Fissure, is a bitter sweet roller coaster ride of Patrick, the comeback king of kings. I loved every minute of it and will dread it if the author didn't make a 3rd novel. The story was told from Patrick's point of view which really allowed the reader to understand where he was coming from and how he was feeling in all that life threw his way. There definitely has to be a third novel to the Patrick Chronicles and hopefully it includes finding immortality because the Haywards need to stay together infinitely.

Yeah I gave this book a 5 star review because it deserves it and "Nicole's writing is witty & clever she never misses a beat and being the last book to end my journey with the "Haywards" it's been a absolute frigging pleasure! You have to read all of the books to get the whole experience but yep I'm feeling crappy saying this I didn't think very highly of the story line because of the raced ending I'm trying not to spoil any thing for others reading this to see if they would like to read this book and you'll love it! I thought it was BS the way it all played out!!!

I just finished Fissure and, and, and-

I really liked the book, needless to say, I loved Patrick and Emma. My fingers itch with eagerness to get my hands on this one. I'll finish it in one sitting, because one can't get enough of that steamy relationship.

I'll come back with a logical written review, as soon as I read this.

While I really love Emma and Patrick, I wasn't a big fan of the twist in this book hence only the four stars. Yes it does have a HEA ending, it kind of left me a bit sad at the same time. I loved the concept of the series and both Emma and Patrick are great characters. I did love how they interacted and to watch the love and their relationship build. Patrick is very funny and I loved reading all his smartass comments and comebacks.
Have loved all Nicoles books :)

I have to work out a better review for this; but one thing I can say for sure is that I have no idea how I can adore any man more than Patrick! He is honestly every woman's dream! I love almost every bit of this story. I feel like there should have been more to it. Everything happened too quickly and there definitely should have been WAY more to this story!

I started off a giddy school girl to have my favorite brothers back. Fusion starts with the epilogue from Fissure so I had William and Patrick back together right from the start. As a self-proclaimed Willtrick girl (my inability to choose between brothers) I was super happy from the start.

The only thing I thought was missing from Fissure was seeing Patrick with Bryn. Their relationship was so amazing in the Eden series that I was hoping she would make an appearance in The Patrick Chronicles and I finally got it. Although I absolutely wanted Bryn with William, I loved her relationship with Patrick as well, it was always the two of them against the world. This book did not let me down in that area. It brought Bryn and Patrick and their witty banter and their special kind of love back together within the first few chapters, my favorite trio was all back together (even if it was only at night while Patrick was popping in from jail) - and I was a happy girl!

If I was honest with myself, I would say that I knew what was going to happen in this book…I knew while I was reading Fissure and I can pinpoint exactly when I knew. But it’s like knowing your favorite team is going to lose in the super bowl, no matter how bad it is, you keep telling yourself there is still a chance and you still find yourself utterly devastated when they eventually do lose the game. That’s how I feel right now! I knew what was going to happen, yet I’m still devastated by it.

Patrick is the same character we have always loved, but he’s grown a little and I found a way to love him that much more (making the ability to pick a favorite brother that much harder). I love the way he loves Emma and the way he loves his family and of course the way they all love him in return.

Nicole Williams gave us five books full of these amazing characters. She definitely had me emotionally invested. Unfortunately for me, that emotional investment turned into crying like a baby at 12:30 at night (I mean hysterical, had to go into the other room as to not wake my husband and facebook messaging Nicole to tell her I was mad at her, crazy upset)… Do I wish the story could have been a different? Of course! But then it wouldn’t have been Patrick and Emma’s story. Was it sill beautiful in its own way? Absolutely! But just because I understand why she broke my heart, doesn’t mean I like it!

I’m sad to see this series end, but am looking forward to whatever Nicole writes next.

Overall, I really enjoyed Fusion, the second and final installment in The Patrick Chronicles. Personally, I liked the first novel in this two-book series slightly more, but I still really enjoyed this story. The main reason I enjoyed Fissure slightly more than Fusion was because Patrick and Emma spent a lot more time together in Fissure than Fusion. Because of the way that Fissure ended, Patrick and Emma were separated for the majority of the first half of Fusion. Another thing I noticed while reading this novel was that their relationship matured a lot. The fun and flirty relationship that we all fell in love with in Fissure becomes a lot more serious in Fusion. I really enjoyed watching them become a "serious" couple. It was the necessary step for them to take, but at the same time, I missed the fun, flirty banter that I fell for in Fusion.

Like I said in my review of Fissure, I love Patrick Hawyard. He's a fabulous character! He's charming and sexy and he doesn't alway think before he speaks! His mouth sometimes gets him into trouble, but I really like that about him! I loved watching him mature in this novel. For the first time in his life, he really learns what it's like to put someone else before himself. In the end, I really respected him for the choices he made.

I'm very surprised with the direction the author took with this book. I don't mean that in a negative way at all. I'm just shocked with the way things turned out. I guess I had predicted for things to turn out a certain way and they didn't turn out that way at all! It's a really good ending. It just wasn't the ending I was expecting. I definitely give Ms. Williams lots of points for being able to shock me! It's not the easiest thing to do, but she was able to do just that!

I gave Fusion (The Patrick Chronicles #2) by Nicole Williams 4 STARS. My advice: read the Eden trilogy and then The Patrick Chronicles. You can't go wrong with either series!

-XOXO

Okay, for the many books I've rated in Goodreads this is actually the first time I am going to write something about a book that I have read. I am a crybaby over movies and silly situations but never one over a book. Sure somewhere in my Facebook or twitter account I may have posted that I felt like crying over a book or a book series because it already ended but never in my bookworm life did I literally cried --- bawled out, tears-streaming-down-my-cheek type of crying --- over a book until Fusion. There is something in Nicole William's use of words on this book that tugs my heart. I know that was cheesy but what the heck that's what I felt.

When I read Fissure last month, it immediately went up to the top of my ridiculous long list of favorite books. This two-book series is a paranormal type of series but a series of this type never felt so humanly real. The emotions conveyed through words are too strong that I felt those words were actually touching some freaking emotions inside me.I branded Nicole Williams a genius too many times for her own ego, but now I doubt it. Geniuses can be insensitive right? But with William's writing I doubt this author is anywhere near insensitive.

After reading Fusion, I honestly think that no book would ever -ever- come close to what the effect of this book had on me. And that says something being a bookworm that I am, there are a million books that I will still have to come across with in my lifetime.

I sure am for most, if not all, the people who have read it, this book is not a life-changing, world-altering, whatever -ing one. But for me, there is something in this book I couldn't, but would love to, pinpoint. Whatever that is, that something had made sure this book is sitting on top of my favorite books list. For how long? Uhm, maybe until I can no longer read, or hear, or speak for that matter.

Thank you Nicole Williams for this wonderful, otherworldy two-book series. I can never get enough of Patrick Hayward but there is no other way to end his and Emma's story but this way. PERFECT.

Another beautifully written book by the lovely Nicole Williams!

It was such a perfect ending for the Hayward family :) ok it's bittersweet really but I still think it's perfedct. Whether there is a third book or not I don't think will matter

I loved the whole family being around again & Patrick's trips from prison. Sorry William but I think Joseph has become my second fav brother! He's such a sweetie & Patrick is seriously rubbing off on him ;) So good to see him interacting with Bryn again, I always loved their banter. I absolutely adore Bryn and the part she played in the end was amazing. . Patrick's interpretation of their relationship was the perfect closure for all us Bryn & Patrick fans...

.....Whatever we'd shared in life had melded us together in a way that went beyond friendship. It went beyond the connection of family even. It was almost like our souls both recognized we were mates, matches for the other, but hadn't been joined because we weren't matches for each other.... <------ That is THE most beautiful thing I've ever read in a book <3

Yep, all the ingredients needed for an awesome book!

This review contains spoilers!!!

This is the last book in the Patrick Chronicles- and the end to any sort of connection to the Eden series too so approaching this book, I was sad from the start.

So Patrick is in jail....yet he's teleporting all over the place, from Emma to William and Bryn's house, to Joseph and Cora's.... overall he's handling it well and everything is fine and dandy until those damn Inheritors. UGH.

I wanted to huggggg Nicole William so hard when Bryn and William made their way into the story. After everything they'd been through I was so glad to see a glimpse into their life post- United Eden. I was so immensely happy with the way things worked out.

Bryn and William forever!<3 sorry!

Patrick and ME forever<3 haha jk

It was such a bittersweet ending!!!!

I mean, he got his happily ever until death! D: He got Emma, his kids, and his family and that just made my heart soar with happiness for Patrick, who deserved it, but he also knew that this was limited. He was 30....he would only have about 40-60 more years if he was lucky...but looking at it now....He would enjoy every single moment that was given to him like that. With his kids, his wife, and his never aging blood family who would never forget him.

This was such an amazing story, I feel so amazing having read it and it's so worth it.

Even a million stars aren't enough.

I do not think I can contain my emotions while writing this review. Hurt, sadness, happiness and every other emotions was rolled into 1 while I read this book. Everyone knows how much I love Nicole Williams and her books, but I was not prepared for the awesomeness of this book.

Best Part of Book: Patrick Hayward. He is always the best part of these books. His humor, love and protectiveness of Emma and his family gets me every time. I love him so much! He is always proving that he will be there for his family and loved ones no matter what. He definitely proves this in this book.

Not so great about the book: Before I get into this let me explain: I was "hiding" in my office at work to read because I was almost done with the book and I wanted to finish it. TEARS, SOBBING and SHAKING is how I finished this book and my co-workers were actually concerned about my well-being. I cannot believe how this ended. Should I be upset at Nicole Williams? NO! She just prove to me further that she is the most amazing and talented author ever!!

I cannot wait to see what she brings next!
