Stacey and Ronnie met while students at Howard University in Washington, DC. Ronnie was a star basketball player whose stats would have definitely gotten him an NBA draft pick but instead of hoop dreams, he had dreams of Grammy gold. Stacey was the high achieving popular sorority beauty who appeared to have it all together but she was secretly hiding the emotional and physical effects of domestic violence at the hands of her boyfriend.
After graduation, a record deal with LaFace Records and an excellent job opportunity had the young couple leaving all the drama behind and heading to Atlanta to begin a new chapter in their lives.
Stacey is quickly climbing the corporate ladder at one of Atlanta’s most successful black-owned financial services firms. Her meteoric rise is thanks in part to her supervisor and mentor, Kenneth “Kenny” Parker III, who has taking quite an interest in not only her career but also in Stacey. Will this handsome corporate executive’s young protégé have him reconsidering his steadfast rule not to mix business and pleasure?
Ronnie’s singing group, Entice, is skyrocketing up the R&B charts and he begins living the life he’d always dreamed of and in doing so, he showers Stacey with any and everything her heart desires. But Ronnie soon wonders whether stardom is all it’s cracked up to be, especially when trouble begins brewing within the group. To add to the growing stresses in his life, Ronnie’s ex-girlfriend pops up in Peach State, in need of a fresh start. Kim Malone is Ronnie’s girlfriend from high school and she can’t stand Stacey. Ronnie was her man first and she’ll do whatever it takes to end their relationship. She has made it her mission in life to get rid of Stacey and take what she feels is her rightful place back in Ronnie’s life.
As Ronnie tries to deal with the doubts he’s beginning to have about his professional future, his jealousy of Stacey’s infatuated boss is getting out of control and putting a strain on their relationship. Will that strain cause Stacey to seek comfort from the one person she shouldn’t? And when a doctor’s visit has history repeating itself, will she be able to cope?
A world wind of events has them both wondering if the love they shared, can weather the storm of change?
Terren Grimble, weaves a tale that I felt was told somewhere not sure where but it is definitely a story I’ve heard before. Maybe it was the reference to LaFace aka Babyface/L.A. Reid. I’m not quite sure. This tale of a lost love, a love found and the conniving vindictive ex aka Kim and her enough deceit behind her and her deceitful father make you want to stand with the characters and lead them to the truth once and for all. Kim is the ex girlfriend of Ronnie who is now married to Stacey. Stacey loves her man but Kim keeps throwing a wrench into the game for own selfish purpose. This cow eventually claims that she is pregnant by Ronnie who is in the music business and it eventually comes out that she is not sure who the father is but it definitely isn’t Ronnie. Ronnie and Stacey are enjoying their lives but Kim keeps putting her two cents in trying to break up a happy home. I’ll stop weaving this story for you. Read the book its’ awesome and will blow your mind. 4 Stars due to predictability, would recommend due to the fact the storyline keeps you going and is rolls perfectly.
"Love Changes" by Terren Grimble continues where "Love Lessons" left off. Stacey Jackson and Ronnie Morgan met at Howard. The couple is still together, living in Atlanta, Georgia. Ronnie's band, ENTICE, is doing well and Stacey is working in Corporate America. Stacey's lease is up on her apartment and Ronnie asks her to move in with him.
Now that the two live together, they're both learning to adjust to one another. With Ronnie on the road, Stacey finds herself missing him, yet she's glad for the reprieve. Ronnie hired his ex, Kim. To say Stacey is upset, is putting it lightly. Ronnie can't seem to understand why she's upset. He's happy in their relationship and just wanted to help Kim out. He has his hands full as he's balancing out band life and his strong dislike for Stacey's boss, Kenny, who isn't shy about his feelings for Stacey.
"Love Changes" is more or less a `where are they now.' The story is cute, especially if you were rooting for the couple in "Love Lessons." Personally, I didn't feel that the conflict was real between the couple. It's almost as if Grimble had an idea, but it never fully panned out. Readers who've read "Love Lessens" will enjoy the 2.0 version.
Because this was how it read. I read the whole thing but was bored stiff. So many things just didn’t add up and it seemed the author was trying too hard to use so much slang that it was overkill.
Love ~ noun, a feeling of strong or constant affection for a person: attraction that includes sexual desire : the strong affection felt by people who have a romantic relationship. Love is something that we should all want and have, the question is, once we obtain it how do maintain that attraction? We revisit this love in the second installment in this series called Love Changes.
Stacey Jackson has graduated and now lives in Atlanta working for a very prestigious financial firm. Stacey is climbing the corporate ladder and her boss Kenny Parker is paying attention. The question is why is Kenny paying attention? Is it because of Stacey's skills at work or is it because of her breath-taking beauty? Kenny knows of Stacey's relationship with Ronnie but does he care is the question. Is this going to be an issue or will everything be just fine and business as usual?
Ronnie Morgan Jr. has graduated from Howard University and has finished with his basketball career moving on successfully to his singing career with his friends Ced and Myles to create their singing group Entice. Things are going great until Ronnie's ex-girlfriend Kim comes back into the picture. Kim has no shame when it comes to Ronnie and her love for him and she will do any and everything in her power to get him back. The one thing that she did not bank on is Stacey and what it will take to get her out of the picture. Is Kim up for this fight or will Stacey let Ronnie go without a fight. Is their love strong enough for this bump in the road?
Love Changes is a feel good romance novel. Grimble has these characters interacting with each other like you are watching a movie. You can feel their emotions and understand what they are going through. It is like you are seeing a part of your own lives replayed. This could have been any of our story at any time and that is what makes this an excellent story, you can see yourself as the main character. I have enjoyed this series and I absolutely look forward to reading more from Grimble in the future.
In Terren Grimble's sophomore effort, Love Changes readers will be introduced to an Atlanta couple Stacey and Ronnie a pair that met while in college. Now the two have finished school and are in the real world. They are off to a great start since they both have reputable careers. Stacey works at one of Atlanta's top financial firms and Ronnie has a R & B singing group called Entice that are making a name for themselves with continued hits on the music charts.
The couple seem to have it all and life could not be any better for the two until problems begin to arise. One is that Stacey's boss has a crush on her that goes beyond your typical infatuation, Ronnie's ex girlfriend comes to town on a mission to break up the happy couple and is determined brevet nothing stop her from doing so and if that is not enough there are many problems amongst Entice. Just all around drama but nonetheless the story lines make for an interesting read.
Like any tale of love readers will be able to relate to the familiarity of what we do for love. We are often blinded by love, a sucker for love and even settled for the sake of love- all result because like this couple we want love so that we can have that happily ever after. Love Changes does not disappoint with the true emotions conveyed through her characters and even though it is a sequel, it does successfully stands alone.
Author Terren Grimble delivers strong character development that makes this story an exceptional read. Love Changes tells a story of love and romance lovers will thoroughly enjoy this book just as I have. I am looking forward to more from this author.
