"The sands of time are stale, dry and decayed. It lies dead on the land and leaves us within a cycle of war. War against each other... War against ourselves."
Chaos and Time. Two conflicting forces that erode the very fabric of the world. Opposites in every way; on docile while the other, malevolent. And yet they go together, they thrive off of each other while we wander through the turbulent waves left in their wake. Chaos, the body: Time, the soul.
What salvation is there if the world's end is inevitable? Imogen, Lucius, Leonalia, Collin, Necklan, and the others who stand behind them will find out with whatever means necessary - even sacrifice.
Sticklers beware though! There are many grammatical errors throughout the book that actually made me stop to re-read the section to figure out what the author really meant to write.
I actually LOVED the first three books in this series, and I was visualizing this series in a movie! The wonderful characters and scenes, but this one was a disappointment for me. I had not read the first three in a long time, so I expected to have forgotten some things. I thought I would be able to remember them based on the book though. I was reading it on the kindle and the first 15% of the book, I am still confused by it. I don't know if that was kind of like a prequel part or what. And the ending was VERY disappointing to me. It certainly did not end the way I wanted it to, and it also felt like things were left kind of unfinished. Maybe Mr Porter has another series coming out that he was trying to draw us into or something. I don't know, but if that is the case, it didn't work for me. I don't want to start another series if I am just going to be disappointed by the ending. And as the other reviewer stated, there are LOTS of grammatical errors. I have read several series recently and it seems like the last books in the series have a tendency to have lots of errors. It is almost like they are rushed. The middle part of the book was well written and kept me wanting to read, but the beginning and the end left much to be desired.
Wow. This by far was the worst of the four books in this series for spelling and grammar mistakes, even just using the wrong word spelled correctly sometimes as well as character names and genders being incorrect. It was very difficult to overlook this time and even confusing at points as I tried to decipher what was actually meant.
This book also dragged for me. The author has a great imagination and did a decent job of spinning a world with depth, however The Navilus was a chore to get through. I won't say that I saw the ending coming but I will say that it wasn't a complete surprise either. It was hinted at earlier on.
I do hope that while these books have been out for a while somebody cares enough to have them properly edited at some point.
