Although this is the last one I could find in this series, the author did not wrap everything up so I suppose there could be more in the future. The mystery gets better with each one that she has written. The characters are really appealing. Now I know how to play Bunco.

Kate McCall and her fellow Bunco players are always willing to try something new. Life in a senior citizens community like Kate's has more surprises than just what the dice will show. Even though Kate is not the gardening type, she agrees to go with her fellow Bunco Babe Rita Larsen to a gardening club banquet. Rita needs moral support because her old college roommate and rival Sheila will be the guest speaker. However, when the food doesn't agree with Sheila and her significant other, and Vaughn doesn't make it, it looks like more than food poisoning to Kate and the Bunco Babes. Even if she has to get dirty, Kate will get to the bottom of this mystery. I love this series, the senior community not only has Bunco, but theater, several of the members have an active love life, and of course their children have to know every little detail. Who knew senior citizen communities were so active?

A very good and funny cozy! I especially loved the main character Kate McCall. She is a little different from many of our cozy detectives. I am not a knowledgeable game player but it was fun to learn about Bunco. I also learned quite a bit about some plant life.
The retirees who live in serenity Cove Estates love their Bunco and call themselves the Bunco Babes. Some of the Babes are also gardeners and are excited that a famous botanist is coming to speak to them but murder is in the food and the Babes need to find out who did it!

This is a great series about retirement life. It's about a group of lady retirees that live at Serenity Cove Estates for active seniors. They play Bunco at least twice a month, golf, eat and solve mysteries. Lead by Kate who considers herself an 'older' Nancy Drew she can't seem to stop herself from getting involved when someone dies. This particular mysteries involves plants used in cosmetics and some that are poisonous. With lots of suspects and a course in plants Kate sets out to catch a killer.

Retired widow Kate isn't really interested in gardening, but she does want to help her friends. That's why she's on hand when a guest speaker, television plant guru Dr. Sheila, and her fiance fall sick of what's supposed to be food poisoning. Kate's holding out for the real thing, however, and the long-suffering local sheriff is eventually persuaded that she's right.

I wasn't too pleased with this novel as I had it figured out right off the bat. I kept reading it hoping I was wrong. I wasn't. And a little obscureness here....the last chapter had the wrong title across the top. this showed me that this story was put together too quickly without regard for the final product.

I found it hard to follow the plot in this book. That is, if there was a plot. I got stuck on all of the colloquialisms and hyperbole of the South and could not become interested. I think that the premise for the novel, a group of retired ladies who play bunco weekly, has much promise.

The Bunco Babes investigate the poisoning of a cable television diva and her significant other. Which one was the primary target? Why is Sheila so friendly to kate? Several creepy suspects to choose from.

This was a good read! I love the repatriate between main character Kate and sheriff Wiggen's, had a lot of laughs---I am hoping in the future he isn't quite so gruff.

Not as good as the first book, but a good enough read

The story is good but Kate is unbeieable , sometimes smart and sometimes so dumb you want to throw up.
