I write the kind of books that make you check your locks before bed and leave the lights on just in case.

I'm Kate Allenton, an author who lives in the space where paranormal suspense, supernatural thrillers, and edge of your seat crime fiction collide. My stories range from psychics and reapers in small towns that look perfectly normal until they absolutely aren't, to gripping FBI thrillers where the monsters are all too human.

You'll find me writing the Lost Souls Society series, where death is just the beginning of the mystery, and the Psychic Oversight series, where seeing the future doesn't always mean you can change it.

With over 80 books published, I've spent more than a decade perfecting the art of the cliffhanger ending and the 2 AM "just one more chapter" problem.

A decent light read - this is a mid-length story, slightly longer than Novella. Mystery, Fantasy, Romance.

Disappointing

##This book could've been so good but it was incredibly rushed. No way was this book 274 pages as it states. I read it in 2 hours max. I loved the synopsis, however, it failed to deliver. The heroine was capable and strong so it felt out of character for her to forgive the hero instantly as she did. He brought the same danger to her as he would've 18 years prior so again it made no sense that he waited that long. Also, his reaction (or lack thereof) to finding out he had a child was bizarre. No emotion, no regret for missing out on 18 years...just nothing. Sorry, can't really recommend.

I have been provided with a copy of Touch of Fate by the author for an impartial review. This is the second book in the Bennett Sisters series and in this book the focus is on Abby Bennett and Ryan Douglas. I just loved getting to read this book and getting to learn more about what both Abby and Ryan went through. It just captured my interest. I just loved this wonderful story and these characters. It was just so easy to get lost in this story.

Abby and Sam

Abby's son John is 18. When she was 18 she got pregnant with him and could never find the father to tell him. The father just disappeared. It's been hard being a single mother, but she bettered herself and is one of the top forensic investigators around. A strange murder has brought the FBI to their town, and her son's father. And given Abby a second chance for love !

Good

Book two in the series begins about a month after book one ends, but is a standalone story.
Abby fell for her son’s father years ago, but he disappeared before he ever knew she was pregnant.
When he returns, it’s because he’s on the trail of a killer, one who now has Abby in his sights...

This was a quick read, and an enjoyable way to spend an evening.
Recommended for those who enjoy paranormal mystery/suspense and paranormal romance.

Heartwarming and suspenseful

Love this series and read it multiple times. It’s great how the different psychic abilities in this family are used in the real world. Mix that with the different mysteries and romances to get a perfect recipe for a fun read

better than book 1

Storyline is better than the first book. There are still some glaring typos which is a pet peeve of mine, otherwise it’s ok.

Good

So much better. Either the story is better or the writing from the first one. I really connected with the characters and the story in this book. Really liked that Abby can stand on her on two feet. Great nook
