She’s paired with “The King of Rodeo”, Brady Parrish, and although his looks could stop traffic, she’s got a future to worry about that doesn’t leave room for knocking boots with the sexy rider. No matter how hot he is.Brady is at the top of his profession. He’s living the good life, and has no idea anything is missing until the cool Leah comes along. He sees something in her that hints at an underlying fire, and sets out to prove her nickname wrong. In the midst of their steamy affair, he falls hard. Blindsided by the potent combination of Leah’s beauty and vulnerability, Brady is determined to melt “The Ice Queen’s” heart.
Cassandra Carr is a multi-award winning romance writer. When not writing she enjoys watching hockey and hanging out online. Cassandra's books have won numerous "Best Book Of" awards and her novella Unexpected Top was nominated in the E-book Erotic Romance category of RT's Reviewers' Choice Awards.
She thinks the best part of being a writer is penning stories about love and sex while most others struggle with commutes, micro-managing bosses and cranky co-workers.
I swear the more I read about cowboy's the more I want to become a buckle bunny just for one night and a wild ride!
The second book is Cassandra Carr's Buckin' Bull Riders series follows on the heels of Impact. In this story we get up close and personal with the "King of Rodeo" Brady Parrish. He is tasked with a promotional gig for his sponsors on the rodeo tour and is paired up with Leah Fitzpatrick, the "Ice Queen" of figure skating.
Leah is reaching the tail end of her figure skating career. An Olympic gold medalist, holding national and world titles, she is less than thrilled when told to go on a rodeo tour to help rekindle her career after an ankle injury. It is bad enough that she has the reputation of being cold both on and off the ice, but now having to flaunt the nickname she hates, she is ready to get her promo photo shoot over with. After donning the stereotypical skating dress that she wouldn't be caught dead in on the ice, she meets the man she will be paired with for the next few weeks.
Brady Parrish was more than happy to help out with the new promo tour for the rodeo. Donning his dusty red chaps and a smile, he saddles right up to Leah Fitzpatrick for their photo shoot. When he is asked to go bare chested and get a little sexy with Leah for some of the pictures, he is more than happy to do so and realizes that Leah is more interested than she leads on.
I really enjoyed this book and love the idea of the bull rider series. Something about a man that can hold his own on a bucking bull makes a woman think of that man bucking her in bed. Can we say steamy? Brady is all charm and uses it every moment he can to sweet talk Leah into seeing what true passion is about rather than routine sex from those uptight suits she is used to. When she gets a taste of his wild side, she realizes what she has been missing but is not sure they could ever make it work with both of them having traveling careers.
Brady is not sure how to handle his feelings for Leah. He has seen her softer side and knows that her nickname does not exemplify her one bit. Having a difficult past, she just doesn't know how to handle affection and he wants to show her how great it can be to trust someone and let them love you. He pushes her limits and shows her how amazing things can be, but when the time comes to end the tour, the question of what will happen next causes heart aches, tears, and broken bones to say the least.
Cassandra Carr has created a fun and flirty series that will leave you smiling and wanting more. Her cowboys are nothing less than sexy and charming and I love how determined they are once they realize they are head over heals. This is a quick and sexy rodeo that you won't want to miss.
Somehow, I’ve managed to get on the auto-ARC list for Cassandra Carr....dunno what it happened but I am certainly not complaining!:) Ever since Talk to Me, I knew there was something about her writing that appealed to me and this one doesn’t disappoint. It has Cowboys. It has rope. These are certain check-boxes that a cowboy-perv like me enjoys. However, this one worked for me on a few more levels.
Leah was not an easy character to like. She hated the Ice Queen nickname yet perpetuated it constantly with her attitude. The constant name dropping of designer labels made me realise that she was quite a materialistic person but, after a few chapters, I realised something more; she was a very lonely woman. She had few friends, she didn’t have any family to speak of and the person she checked in with on a daily basis was her employee. I started to realise that the image was probably a purposeful decision. She had no clue how to cope with Brady. I don’t think I would know how to deal with Brady, but what she decided to do was slake her lust and keep him at arm’s length. Yeah, that one always works out well!!
Brady was hot. Not only did he sound hot (multiple references to muscled chest, lovely thighs and a fabulous arse) but he was truly yummy in his seduction. He was bloody arrogant with it but I assume if you have several women an hour coming up to jump all over you, you’d get a little bit of an ego. He had already decided that she was going to sleep with him before she had. He was right though. The thing I liked the best about him was how aware of her feelings he was at all times. That plus his sexy times techniques, which were ice-meltingly hot (I’m sorry, I can’t seem to stop), made him a lovely lovely hero.
The question I always I ask when I review Romance books is "Do I like the hero and heroine together?" Yes, I really did. They were quite adorable together; he was constantly considerate to her needs and she became less uptight. They also had incredible chemistry; I have never ever had to write I hated the sex in a review of a Cassandra Carr book. To be honest, this book was good sexy fun that wasn’t filled with angst and drama. So what was the one thing that stopped these two having an easy ride? They would rather assumptions than actually speak to each other. Always a good plan when you are psychic but not so much any other time!
A fab book with some very smutty scenes and a cowboy who likes to tie up his lady friends and torture them with pleasure. Look out for the scenes where he turns on the seduction...yum!
This was definitely one of those stories where I had my notebook open, ready to take notes. I have read a few books by Cassandra Carr, and it’s no secret that I love her writing. Well, suffice it to say – I could not put this book down. My page of notes? Blank. *Sigh* But that’s what happens when you are so engrossed in the story that you can’t stop reading for even long enough to write down a few key sentences. I don’t even have a heartwarming or clenching quote for you!
This is book two in the Buckin’ Bull Riders series. Book one focused on Conner (dreamy Dom cowboy) and this book focuses on Brady Parrish, The Rodeo King. Yeehaw ladies, you do not want to miss this one!
In this book Brady is on tour, and his promoters have decided it would be a good idea to pair him up with “The Ice Queen”, figure skater Leah Fitzpatrick. They were right, it was an excellent idea! I was a little unsure how this would play out – a bull rider and a figure skater? But have no worries, because Cassandra totally made it work. Let royalty reign! (Get it? Ice Queen, Rodeo King….ba-da-dah!)
Brady is the fun lovin smart mouth cowboy that you got a little bit of a tease of in Impact, and he hasn’t changed. And he’s even picked up on a few of Conner’s more dominant traits, which I think worked out just wonderfully for everyone involved. And I mean Brady, Leah, and me (or you) as the reader. Ok, and as Cassandra as the author. Brady is smokin’ hot, and he is not about to admit defeat.
Leah is a bit gunshy, the product of some haughty parents who parade her around like a prized poodle. But there is a warm woman in there, she’s just been hidden for too long. I really loved how Brady was able to see through her tough-girl exterior and get to the heart of the matter.
This book is full of snarky fun, fabulous flirtation, hot and steamy sex, and an attraction to bring the biggest bull to his knees. It delivered on all counts of heat, romance, fun, and drama. I’d like to thank Cassandra for feeding my cowboy addiction; she obviously doesn’t know how hard it is to find one here in the Motor City, but I’m keeping my eyes open! Ladies, read this series – you won’t be disappointed!
Who doesn't have a soft spot for cowboys? Especially bull-riding smokin-hot drool-worthy ones? Growing up around a few will leave you with enough fantasies and satisfaction to spare.lol!! Leah isn't particularly thrilled about this PR assignment, but she knows she needs it. At her age she only has a few years left and she wants to make them count by focusing on the Olympics. Then, well, she's not to sure about after. She just wants to concentrate on now. What she doesn't plan on is Brady. Tall, hot, and muscled, he gives the impression of stepping right off of the cover of one of those sex novels. Oh yeah, Leah was looking at something that could definitely make her forget her goals.
Brady wasn't prepared for the reaction his body had when it came into contact with Leah. Posing for the pictures together was incredibly hot, but did she have to unconsciously pet him? He was quickly losing the battle against giving the photographer too much to shoot at. Leah wasn't anything like the girls was used to being around. He asked her out to dinner that night and even though he put his best foot forward, he had the most wicked thoughts rolling around in his head. He could just imagine how that sweet muscled body would look rolled underneath him.
I can't say enough just how hot this book was. Ok I can, but that would be admitting to having several cowboy fantasies. Ropes and wranglers ladies...hello?? I really enjoyed the by-play between the characters and the sexual content. Their immediate attraction is understandable and their passion-filled nights are enviable. But it also has a great story. I admit I got choked up towards the end, but I won't reveal why. Brady was definitely my kind of guy!! Great read!!!
Leah has accepted an unlikely gig. She is about to go on a promotional tour with her sponsors. This is nothing new to her. She is a veteran to the spotlight. This time she is touring a bull riding circuit with a bona fide cowboy. Knowing this may well possibly be her last year competing in figure skating she needs all the positive public relations that she can get. She knows that her Ice Queen persona can get her through this. Leah knows that this is only a temporary tour that soon she will be back on the ice, back on track for her career.
I loved Brady. He was the hot factor that was needed to melt the Ice Queen. He is happy. He loves what he does. He loves his life. He loves that the sponsor has saddled him with the beautiful Leah. He not only wants her, he wants her to experience all that life has to offer. He wants to make her happy. Brady gets Leah. He sees that she has built defenses. Brady uses all of his sexy southern charm to get her to open up, to let him in, and to see that there is so much more than what she has been living.
I just loved these two. They were so perfectly matched. Brady is the exuberance that Leah has been missing in her life. He is carefree and lighthearted. I don’t think Leah had never experienced anything so simple and relaxed in her life until Brady. All I could think when I first met Leah was “this gal needed to get laid!” Thank goodness sexy cowboy Brady was around to help her out in that department. He did a fantastic job there. This is one hot book. Brady and Leah are smoking hot together.
Collision easily works as a stand-alone. Conner and Jessica have a minor role and are present. Nothing that happened in Impact is presented here that makes having read the first necessary to read this book.
This is the second book in Buckin' Bull Riders series. Brady Parrish. He is tasked with a promotional gig for his sponsors on the rodeo tour and is paired up with Leah Fitzpatrick, the "Ice Queen" of figure skating. Leah is at the tail end of her figure skating career. An Olympic gold medalist, with national and world titles, she is less than thrilled when told to go on a rodeo tour to help rekindle her career after an ankle injury. When he is asked to go bare chested and get a little sexy with Leah for some of the pictures, he is more than happy to do so and realizes that Leah is more interested than she leads on. I liked Brady in the first book and I was happy when I found this book by accident. This book was well written like the first one and Leah and Brady had hot chemistry. Brady is very charming and uses it every chance he gets to sweet talk Leah into seeing what true passion is about rather than routine sex from those uptight suits she is used to. When she gets a taste of his wild side, she realizes what she has been missing but is not sure they could ever make it work with both of them having traveling careers. I really enjoyed reading this book and I am looking forward to reading the rest of this series.
Leah's an Olympic gold medal winning figure skater who's been teamed up with Brady, a champion bull rider, for a promotional tour. The tour sponsor plays up their nicknames--the Ice Queen and the Rodeo King, much to her dismay. And while Brady's completely not her style--too casual and far too masculinely attractive for her peace of mind--she can't seem to turn off her attraction to him the way she normally does in the way that's earned her that Ice Queen moniker.
Overall, this was a great premise. I adore the opposites-attract theme, and Ms. Carr does that beautifully. The story crackles with their attraction and ramping tension as they get to know each other and find a way to a friendship and working relationship. And when they finally can't resist tearing each other's clothes off? Wowza.
Ultimately what didn't work as well for me was with Leah's character and choices. While I loved the first half of the book and overall loved Brady (because man, Ms. Carr sure can write a dreamy rodeo star ;)), I couldn't entirely relate to Leah and subsequently had a hard time understanding her reactions and decisions. That made the conflict and resolution harder to appreciate.
I will definitely be reading more of Ms. Carr's stories--this is the second in her Buckin' Bull Riders series, and I need to go back and catch up with Connor and Jess's story (they make an appearance in Collision as well)! Here's to more hot rodeo stars!
I really liked Brady Parrish in the first Buckin' Bull Riders story, "Impact". As the reining Rodeo King , Brady has it all: the looks, the charm, the sex appeal, the talk and most of all the walk! With his slow Texan drawl and his easy manner, it was hard not to fall for Brady.
Fast forward a few months from that first story, and we have Brady doing a PR gig for the CEO of their biggest sponsor. Incidentally, this sponsor is also the main backer for the skating tour in which Leah Fitzpatrick is "The Ice Queen." From their first meet cute in New York City to their first non-date, Brady and Leah exude smokin' chemistry. I loved how Leah's internal dialogue expressed her volatile emotions, yet Brady's thoughts kept niggling at him that Leah wasn't as affected as he was: Perhaps she really is "The Ice Queen"?
But as the rodeo tour unfolds, Brady and Leah both grew to trust each other. Leah lets down her iron clad walls (albeit only in short bursts during the lovin')...and Brady gives and gives but at the last moment, he holds out on the big stuff! Hurt and rejected, both Brady and Leah learn that it takes a leap of faith to merge two worlds, but only three small words to build a future.
One line I would have loved to read in this story would have been Brady defending his woman, by saying "She is the Reigning Queen of the Ice...but certainly no Ice Queen!" Preferably said all macho, alpha and a bit menacing! Enjoy!
Erin's Review I fell in love with Brady after reading Impact. I was hoping he would get his own book and Cassandra made my wish come true! Brady was everything I hoped and more. The chemistry between him and Leah was evident from the very beginning. It was nice to see the ever-so-confident Brady get flustered around Leah, the so-called Ice Queen. Leah hates her nickname, but she has an image to uphold. Her career is in question after an ankle injury and doing this tour with the bullrider's was just the thing she needs to boost her image back in the public eye. She never in a million years think she would fall for the hot Brady Parrish. Having no friends aside from her manager, and a family that only used her when it was convenient, hurts Leah. She doesn't trust easily and trusts herself less around Brady when things start to heat up between the two of them. Brady is so used to getting what he wants, he isn't sure how to handle Leah, all he knows is that he's fallen.....and hard. He introduces Leah to his best friend, Connor, and his girlfriend Jessica and even they see Brady's in trouble. Cassandra does a phenomenal job at proving opposites do attract and sometimes you have to put trust in someone else in order to grow. Leah and Brady compliment each other well and things heat up quickly once they both let go. Loved the book, love the series and after this story, I love Brady even more.
I really enjoyed reading Collisiion, book 2 of the Buckin' Bullrider series which features Brady Parrish's story. Brady is a sexy bullrider who knows how to rope a reluctant figure skater, Leah Fitzpatrick into his arms and bed. I have to admit it took me awhile to warm up to the heroine of this book because she was so distant, aloof and had this barrier around her even when she was with Brady. It wasn't until Brady's first seduction scene that I finally opened myself up to liking Leah and then understood why she acted the way she did. As I read about her background, it helped me feel more compassionate towards her and Brady also brought forth a more playful and sexy side to Leah. And the sex scenes were oh so hot that it left me wanting more. For such a strong, tough cowboy, Brady showed us a softer, caring, tender side when he was around Leah and I found myself rooting for them to get their happy endng. It was also great to catch up with Conner and Jessica and see their interaction with this couple and the friendship portrayed. I am looking forward to reading the next book in this wonderful series by Cassandra Carr.
This is the 2nd book in the Buckin' Bull Riders series, and I'm just loving Brady Parrish, Mr. King of Rodeo. He is set to promote the rodeo sponsors during his tour with none other than Leah Fitspatrick, Ms. Ice Queen. Right from the beginning he can tell that there's more than meets the eye in regards to her nickname. She decides to let loose and have an affair with Brady, quite sure that that's what he is looking for, but they didn't count on their hearts getting involved. I really enjoyed reading their very hot and sexy scenes, Brady was very tender and caring towards Leah, which really was something she had been missing in previous relationships. He helped her see things differently and brings out her softer side, totally the opposite of her Ice Queen personna. She questions whether their affair will go anywhere after the tour is done, does he feel the same way about her, will they have a happy ending? You won't want to miss finding out for yourself!
This is book 2 in the Buckin' Bull Riders series by Cassandra Carr, and it's just as fantastic as the first one.
Leah Fitzgerald, the "Ice Queen", is going on a meet and greet tour with the bull riding tour that Brady Parrish is competing. They're paired together as the faces of the tour to bring more publicity and to help bolster Leah's career as a skater. It's lust at first sight when Brady sees her, and the sparks fly (as well as clothing).
Leah has no intentions of this relationship becoming serious or lasting past the tour, so it was fascinating to watch the dynamic between them. Normally, the roles are switched, where the male is the one running, and the female is chasing. It was refreshing and wonderful to read, to say the least.
This book is different from the first in the series, as it's not BDSM centered. It's sexy and romantic, and they hold their own against each other.
Bull riders are hot! Cassandra Carr's Collistion just emphasizes that. Leah is a medal winning figure skater and Brady is a champion bull rider. The same company sponsors both of them and wants Leah to work with Brady on the bull riding tour. Can the King of the Rodeo melt through the Queen of the Ice's heart? Well you'll have to read and find out. I'm looking forward to the next Bull Rider book!
Excellent read - Brady is exactly what Leah needs and boy oh boy do they burn up together! Poor Leah has been emotionally stunted due to neglect from her parents and can't deal with the depth of the emotions she develops for Brady. Brady tries to keep his emotions in check, but fails miserably. It was nice to see the emotional side of the guy when things fell apart and even better to see how he picked up the pieces and put it all back together for both of them
Collision by Cassandra Carr is her second book in the Buckin' Bull Rider series. Each book can be read as a standalone book.
In Collision, rodeo champion Brady Parrish is paired with ice skater Leah Fitzpatrick for a promotional tour. Sparks quickly fly and a romance follows. I enjoyed both characters and loved how their romance progressed. I also enjoyed that Conner and Jessica from Impact (the first book in the series) had supporting roles. Highly recommend this romance!
This was a lovely follow up to Impact and it was nice to see Brady's story. Wonder why those guys who are not bunny buckle chasers, are always more attractive? Brady is not only a good friend but, a sweet kinda guy who seems to immerse himself wholeheartedly in everything he chooses to do. ~waggles those brows.....yes, yes even his girl! Giddy up Cowboy, whoooo hooooo!
3 1/2 stars. Not nearly as good as the first book for me. Leah was hard to relate to and Brady came across more cocky than was required. Overall the heat of the sex scenes saved it for me but the story was not as good as it could have been.
I wasn't sure how compatible a bull rider and figure skater would be but they were off the charts. I was hooked by their story immediately and was able to read this in a few hours. Brady was sweet , charming and a whole lot of sexy! I loved the demanding side of this cowboy. While Leah was dubbed an Ice Princesses, she thawed pretty quick for the bull rider. I loved reading how her demeanor changed throughout the book. I would loved an additional chapter or an epilogue to round out their story.
