Many Christmases ago, my mother gave me a book with a story by Debbie Macomber and knitting patterns in it. I read the story and liked it (romance novels are not something I enjoy) and then I tried the patterns in the back of the book. A few years later, I found the knitting books. I have a couple of the smaller versions of the book, but this book was special. It had a pattern for a scarf that I had made for my dad. It had patterns for a socks and hats and blankets.

This is such a fun book.

This is my first Debbie Macomber book, and likely my last. I found the knitting patterns rather boring. Some are okay and basic but nothing here is very creative or, definitely, unusual. The photographs aren't very professional looking, making the yarns look cheap. The yarns used are also pretty basic looking. The specific yarns used are listed in the very back, so not very convenient. I can't speak to how correct the patterns are written since I haven't made anything. There is a good, but brief, explanation of techniques as well as several color pages of different stitch patterns.
