Wedding fever is in the air as Liam’s daughter Caitlin is preparing for her big day. But Sarah discovers on an heirloom cloth some shocking evidence of a previous marriage in Liam’s life that he’s told no one about. With Liam out-of-town on a retreat, Sarah tries to find out more about the history of Fiona Hamill and why her name is on a wedding quilt with Liam’s. Her investigation has her deep into a family history in Maple Hill where shipping fortunes, rival corporations, family conflict and young love are intertwined together. And above it all—is Liam lying to her? And what does that mean for their newfound relationship?
Camy writes Christian romantic suspense, contemporary romance, and cozy mystery as Camy Tang and Regency romance under her pen name, Camille Elliot. She grew up in Hawaii but now lives in northern California with her engineer husband and rambunctious dog. She graduated from Stanford University in psychology with a focus on biology, but for nine years she worked as a biologist researcher. Then God guided her path in a completely different direction and now she’s writing full time, using her original psychology degree as she creates the characters in her novels. In her free time, she’s a staff worker for her church youth group and leads one of her church’s Sunday worship teams. She also loves to knit, spin wool into yarn, and is training to (very slowly) run a marathon.

Book 15 in the Patchwork Mystery series was written by one of my favorite mystery authors, Camy Tang. As usual, she kept me guessing until the very end as to what happened to whom. The cast of characters is enjoyable as always with several minor mysteries playing into the main one. Reappearances of characters from previous books about Maple Cove especially some of the elderly ones added to the delightful flavor of this cozy mystery. Any of the books in this series can be read as stand-alones as they are all written by a variety of Christian authors.
Recommended for anyone who loves an easy-to-read, quick cozy mystery.
This is a great series. The mysteries can be a bit simple to complex but the books, for the most part, are well written and the characters well-defined. But the problem with multiple authors writing one series is that sometimes things get lost in the details and what happens from one book to another. In this one, more characters come out that we either never heard of or barely heard of before. Also- we learn things about important characters that were not known before and made me say "Really?" And in this particular book I kept getting lost in the family dynamics of relationships.
So Caitlin, Sarah's male friend Liam's daughter, is getting married. Not much was told of Caitlin before this book and nothing of her mother but all of a sudden they were people who lived in town and whom Sarah knew well. Also, Maple Hill is a small town where everyone supposedly knows everyone else but this is the second book where there is a large estate that no one knew about. Of course, the book has a mystery about a patchwork quilt. This one was handed down to Caitlin from her mother's family, but the relationships is what makes the mystery, along with the markings on the back of it. Everyone is so mysterious about simple things going on. Of course, where would be the mystery if everyone came right out and told what they know? Nosy little Sarah manages to dig until she gets at the solution.
Patchwork Mysteries #15. I haven't found 12 - 14 but other than a little bit of Sarah's life that happened during those 3, it didn't matter. This mystery is very tied to a quilt. In addition to the mystery, this book has Sarah examining her faith and trust in herself and a friend.
Sarah is asked by Caitlin, Liam's daughter to clean a quilt given to her for her wedding. What about the names on the quilt hidden under the new patch? What secrets does Liam have? What ever happened to Fiona?
This is a fun easy series to read. Not serious or great writing, but still entertaining. Also I usually learn something about fabric preservation which interests me.
10/1-10/9 I would've given this 5 stars if I hadn't been confused at times by all of the characters. Once the book wrapped up, I was no longer confused, and I really liked the ending.
Liam's daughter Caitlin is preparing for her wedding day and Liam wants Sarah to make it look nice. When Sarah is fixing a spot on the quilt she sees Liam's name with a woman's name that is not his dead wife's name. Was Liam married to somebody else before he married Caitlin's mother, and why would he not tell her. Recently they have been getting close. Also, Liam is on a retreat and gone for a few weeks, so she can't talk to him about it. When she is able to hear from him, he denies any knowledge of even knowing the woman. Sarah has to go back in time to find out who this woman is. Read the book to find out how Sarah solves the mystery. Will she be able to prove that Liam is telling the truth? Enjoy!
