The Camarilla lost much ground in its recent war with the Sabbat, which raged along the East Coast of the United States. The Camarilla gained one of the greatest prizes in the world, however -- control of New York City. The Camarilla was never entirely absent from the city, but no other clan held out so strongly against the Sabbat as did the Tremere. This is their story.

This might be the worst Vampire the Masquerade novel White Wolf ever printed. The main character, Antigone, is never given any true purpose or development. She constantly reads as an outcast waiting for her moment to surprisingly shine but never does. She's whiny, never listens, acts on impulse, and can't even fudge her way through the final battle. All efforts to build her as an underdog are completely wasted and worse yet you really don't get it after reading all THREE books when she just dies at the end in a vain effort to save her friend's corpse while the Regentia quit the Chantry and it was over anyway? Like what? WHAT WAS THE POINT OF THIS SERIES?!!
