Love is irresistible. Gravity is undeniable.

Holy men have foretold their birth for thousands of years. Supernatural creatures have awaited it for thousands more. Now, in the presence of an eclipse, three souls mature for a single purpose—to fight. They must fight for their lives, for their freedom and for the liberation of everyone possessed of a second nature.

********

Peyton Giles’s world is turned upside down when she learns that everyone in her life and in her school is much more than they appear, she most of all. Peyton is the one person in all of time and history powerful enough to bring peace to the darkness and to the light. Not knowing that her powers could kill her, however, Peyton nearly loses her life only to have her brother’s best friend save it. Drawn to him in ways she can’t explain, Trace is the one person that she literally can’t live without. Her soul is tethered to her world through her connection to him. Without it, she will die.

For the most part, Trace Kramer has always steered clear of his best friend’s sister. Until now. He never would’ve expected that Peyton would hold his life and his future in her hands the way she’s always held his heart. But she does.

Peyton and Trace soon learn that love and fate aren’t easier than duty and destiny, at least not when you’re being hunted. Together, they are more powerful than any other creature on the planet—and more valuable—but apart, neither can survive to fight for freedom, for the only life they’ve ever known and for the lives of everyone they’ve ever met.

Their need for one another is undeniable. Their love for one another is irresistible. But can it endure all that they must suffer?

M. Leighton has blown me away again. From the time I opened this book on my kindle, I was hooked, and I had to know more about this world M. created!

Peyton is enthralled with her brother's best friend Trace, and when he starts reciprocating those feelings Brady, Peyton's twin brother, is way less than thrilled. Peyton is confused of why her brother is so against her dating his friend until the guys get in a fistfight and their true identities manifest. Now Peyton is faced with the choice between family loyalty or fateful love.

I don't think I have ever read a book with so many paranormal beings: vampire, werewolf, dragon, raven, succubus, witches, dream walker, grendels, and gorgons. There was a lot and I don't even think I got them all, but they all work together. The book didn't seem disjointed because there were so many beings but really the opposite. In the story, you felt as if for some reason they needed to be there, and it made the book even more epic having so many different aspects!

Peyton has the coolest power of all, but she must learn how to control her power before it kills her. Throughout the book she learns of the power she possess, and how she can use that to change her world. It all depends if she is willing to take the responsibility and if she can grow into this role quick enough.

I really can't stop thinking about this book. It's consuming my mind, so much that I can't even read anything else without thinking about Trace....and Peyton! This book is an EPIC must read!

Awww! Peyton has had THE BIGGEST CRUSH on her brother’s best friend Trace, for YEARS! But seeing as how HE’S her bro’s BFF, she knows that’s all it will ever be. *sigh*

Or is it?

Brady’s throwing an EPIC party to celebrate their 18th birthday, when something starts to happen… Peyton is beyond feeling the, “OMG!!!! He looked at me!” and is experiencing a much more physical and emotional PULL TO Trace… and it’s almost like he he can feel it too.

On the stroke of midnight the WORLD shifts (not really- I’m being dramatic), realities are altered and NOTHING will ever be the same. Trace and Brady are straining to maintain a friendship they’ve spent years building. Peyton and Trace… Brady and Lacey… and the darkness that threatens them all.

Peyton now feels a DESPERATE need for Trace, like she’s never known… And all three of them are drastically changing (YOU WILL NEVER GUESS) and it took me by COMPLETE surprise so I HOPE HOPE HOPE you DO NOT read any spoilery sort of reviews- because I so didn’t see what happened coming!!!! It is almost IMPOSSIBLE to write the rest of this review without revealing the freaking secret- but you know me and I’m going to anyway!

The mythology, the sheer imagination and the imagery I was presented with in this book blew my freaking mind! I LOVED IT, I devoured it, I could NOT get enough of it! I REALLY want to go into the characters and their roles because they were SO FREAKING COOL- but I can’t because it will ruin the story… I’ve been thinking of which ones I could do without giving too much away and I THINK I’ve done it!

Jace:
Right before my eyes, I saw Jace’s face turn an inky black color, his skin slick and shiny. His features thinned and stretched into a long wicked looking beak that ended in a sharp silvery hook.

RIGHT?! And that’s not even the HALF of it!!! Wait until you find out what he IS, and what he can DO…

Succubus:
And then I saw her change.
It was as though **** sprouted plumage like a peacock. Dozens of nearly-translucent feather-like appendages arose from her shoulders, stretching out to either side and high above her head. They twitched and fluttered, bending lazily toward **** and waving their delicate tips hypnotically in his direction.

I KNOW! Okay, now I realize I used two examples that were bird-like… But let me assure everyone that this ISN’T a BIRD book or anything! These descriptions FASCINATED me! And the origins of the mythology was SO AWESOME! Seriously, I feel at a loss for words.

Besides all the awesome mythological/paranormal aspects that completely ROCKED- the characters were FABULOUS and so much FUN! I loved Peyton’s best friend Lacey, she was a riot!!! And Peyton was a strong, amazing, kick-butt heroine!!!

“Dude, if your brother wasn’t perfect and just about ready to fall madly in love with me, Tanner Sloan would be my next choice.” ~Lacey (It’s fairly obvious why I loved her right?)

______________________________________________

“A lesser-determined girl would’ve withered in the face of such scathing looks. But I was no such girl.” ~Peyton

_______________________________________________

“We were made for each other. Can’t you feel it? Can’t you see that we make each other stronger?” ~Trace

_______________________________________________

I’ll be the FIRST to admit that I am 100% in LOVE with TRACE. *swoon* … *dies* … *take me NOW because you’re 18* (uuum birthday remember?)

I have personally never read anything with so many varying degrees of paranormal mythologies, or that were blended so WELL together! Leighton has brought everything we love about YA paranormal and given us something brand freaking NEW! I CANNOT wait for the second book in the Gravity series!

Fast-paced, intriguing, romantic and epically supernatural Gravity is the thrilling first part in M. Leighton’s brand new duology. Narrated by the funny, warm and incredibly likeable Peyton, Gravity grips the reader, propelling us forward through a mystery that continues to intrigue until the very last page.
I loved the sun and moon mythology and how creepy and insular the small town became as the truth of its purpose was brought to light. And of course my favourite element of the story was the characters - in particular Peyton and Trace. Leighton created chemistry between the two characters from literally the first page which is an incredibly difficult thing to do - it was fantastic to read! The two of them fairly sizzled throughout the entire novel.

With Peyton on the cusp of an epic battle with some truly wickedly cool powers I cannot wait to read book two!

Brilliant stuff!

Ah this book irked me in so many ways.
Firstly, this is supposedly about 18 year olds...you couldn't tell. Their maturity level was more like 13...maybe. And that annoyed me. If M. Leighton wanted this to be for that young of crowd, then perhaps the ages of the characters should have reflected that. Or, their maturity level should have reflected them being 18.
Secondly, Brady had such a major issue with his friend hitting on his sister but was totally okay to hit on and go further with his sister's friend....Worse, Peyton never acknowledged his contradictions. That really pissed me off. They are siblings, there is no way in hell that she would have been okay with him acting like that. I know she eventually grew a back bone...but that was so lame. I think there could have been a better way to make Trace hard to get.
Thirdly, what straight 18 year old guy says "ohmigod?" seriously? Ever? I could only see it happening in jest...when I read that I stopped seeing them as male characters. They instantly grew a vagina.
Fourthly, the majority of this book was based on a horrible romance set up to bore you to tears.
Fifthly, how many times was it drilled into your head that this plot was based on two fallen angels/gods having some fun and the true God intervening? I wanted to pull out my hair with the amount of times information was repeated. This book was short...I didn't need reminding.

The romance was boring. The snippy random appearances of Amity was ridiculous. I don't know why she played a part really, she was not important. She didn't interfere with Trace and Peyton's relationship and I don't see why her dream walking was relevant, other than to find out what really happened with Trace's dad which you find out from Peyton's aunt anyway...so yeah, unnecessary. If her abilities do not help out in the next book I will be disgusted. I don't like pop up throw away characters that are filler and serve no purpose in a story. The other thing that bothered me was the over usage of "big" words where they needn't be. Not that they didn't fit there, just that it was overkill. I have no problem with an awesome vocabulary, but it really just came across as "Look at me! I can use big words! See! I use one here...and there...and there..." I mean, I think it is awesome to use words that are not commonly used in stories; it's great for readers to have a variety of language but throwing them around willy nilly like in this book...just kills the experience for me. It took away from the story rather than adding to it.
Ah and the first part of the book where like 3 pages were dedicated to how wonderful and awesome Peyton's brother was. I was starting to think that he was going to be the love interest in this book after all.
Peyton better grow a back bone in the next book or she is going to be chewed up, spat out, and left high and dry. I'd expect nothing less.

Now I would like to start off saying that I enjoyed this book, much like all of the books that Ms.Leighton has written. I gave it a 4 out of 5 simply because the characters didn't capture me like they normally do. I did not feel the love connect between Trace and Peyton. The book was well written and I greatly enjoyed the plot and the ideas behind this book and look forward to the second with great anticipation. I am hoping in the second book that the connection between Trace and Peyton happens for me.

Summary:
It’s Peyton Giles' 18th birthday. Her twin brother Brady has planned a party to celebrate and Peyton is less than happy about it. The only thing she’s looking forward to is seeing Brady’s best friend Trace, who coincidentally shares the same birthday. She’s always had a crush on him, but the pull seems to be getting stronger. As the party is in full swing, Peyton steps out to get some fresh air. As she gazes at the stars, the eclipse begins. At that moment, her world shifts. When Trace comes out to find her, their connection can no longer be denied. They know in that moment that they are meant to be together. However, Brady’s not too happy about it. Brady confronts Trace and that’s when Peyton’s eyes are opened to a whole new world and nothing will ever be the same.

My Take:
WOW! There is a lot going on in this story. I am a fan of M. Leighton’s books and she never ceases to amaze me with her creativity. I mean, there are witches, werewolves, vampires (who by the way are NOT sexy in this book), succubus’, ravens, shifters, and many other supernatural creatures, but the story flows and makes sense as the bigger picture is revealed.

Peyton’s character was likable. She’s….for lack of a better word, balanced. I think that sums up her characters role pretty well. She is the balance to the story. I loved her developing relationship with Trace. They are so sweet together. Trace is….oh, just wonderful and beautiful! I love that he puts Peyton as his top priority in every situation. I’m a fan of the protective hero type of guy and Trace fills that role nicely.

The development of their powers was interesting to me as well. They have no idea that they hold these unique abilities. Unfortunately for Peyton, she encompasses all powers. She learns to handle it well, but she needs Trace by her side. I mean literally HAS to have him near to help her absorb the power and release it. Very unique perspective on paranormal creatures.

It’s hard to write a review of this book, because there are so many elements to the story that need to be revealed as you read it. So, I’ll just say this…I loved it! It was entertaining, intriguing, and kept me on my toes. I never knew what was going to happen next, which is a big plus for me! If you are looking for a paranormal romance that’s out of the ordinary, come check this out. Gravity is the first book in The Eclipse Series.

This is a tough review for me to write because I completely adore this author. I will start with the positives...

M. Leighton's writing is flawless...she writes with more than words, she writes with emotion. Reading her work is just a beautiful experience. It's amazing to me how the words you choose and the way you arrange them can make you feel things!

Trace and Peyton are very likeable...Trace is dreamy and sweet and...I just needed more Trace! Peyton is very smart and strong. I wish there had been more romantic interactions between them...;) Peyton's best friend, Lacey, was hilarious and spunky...probably could've used a little more Lacey, too!

Now with her other books I can literally just sit back and her world just creates itself right around me. This book definitely started out that way for me. I was grinning from ear to ear while reading. But when we got the first big paranormal reveal, I felt like a big bucket of paranormal ice water had been poured on me. No shortage of paranormal here! It was a little much to take in. Some explanations seemed a little too convenient and forced. But as the story went on, we learned a bit more about this world and I became more accustomed to it.

I have tried to analyze exactly what wasn't working for me in this book and I think I figured it out. I needed more...more character development to allow me to get to know the characters better...more plot development just for the experience...more conversations and less narration maybe? I'm not exactly a professional, so I can only say that I just didn't feel like I had a chance to connect with this story. I hope that the 2nd book will remedy that, because I believe there's still a chance for me to love this series. But at this point, it just fell short for me.

M. Leighton is still one of my favorite authors!! This book is so well written! Maybe I just didn't want the story to end...

This is a great new series I stumbled across by accident. I loved the authors writing so much I went and bough 3 or 4 more books by her. This book has everything a paranormal lover could ask for, there are every type of supernatural creature under the sun in this small town and some I hang heard of before. This is a great story about friendship, love, trust, and above all unity no matter what you are or what clique you hang with at school. I cant wait for the second book in this series and I highly recommend you pick this up and read it you will.thank me.later for introducing you to this great authors work.

I enjoyed the humor, the bond between brother and sister and best friends. This book was too quick for me, I wish there was more in the first book.

There is some serious second nature people in this book and if they don't figure out how to work on their powers and work together they may just lose the world. Peyton is the key to winning the war and can only do it with Trace at her side and her brother Brady too!

The end leaves you wanting to know what happens next. I hate that I gotta wait for it!!

A quick read, and by quick I mean short, I definitely had to slow down my reading to make sure I was digesting everything correctly. There is a lot going on, a lot of myth and folk lore mixed into the characters. A good build up to the next book. Interesting, nothing like what I've read by Ms Leighton before.

Not sure I should read this one since it came out in 2012. It states that the sequel was expected to be published in 2013 and it is February 2016 and still not sequel! I am assuming the sequel is not going to come out...

Our first impression of the cover:

Kismet: The cover looks like it is a setting from an early century love story. I honestly was expecting a romance book. I love a good romance.

Kindred: I see a rich bride who is running away from the man she is betrothed to marry but doesn't want to. The text was so close to the book I read of Leighton’s just before I bought “Gravity”. It is called “Fragile” and was a love story in which I think the cover matched extremely well for the content of the book. I honestly bought “Gravity” thinking it was the next book due to the same font on the cover, and the similarities of the girl.

What We would recommend for the cover:

Kismet: I believe that this cover really needs to be revamped and hit closer to the name of the Series and give a paranormal edge. The font used was the same as Fragile and I thought maybe they were from the same series.

Kindred: I really believe that the cover should have the name of the Series; especially since I am junkie for a great series. I believe the font should have been different from Fragile. I also believe that it should have been less dainty. Possibly a girl who matches the character's badass personality or even an eclipse that pertains to the book.

Description:
Love is irresistible. Gravity is undeniable.

Holy men have foretold their birth for thousands of years. Supernatural creatures have awaited it for thousands more. Now, in the presence of an eclipse, three souls mature for a single purpose—to fight. They must fight for their lives, for their freedom and for the liberation of everyone possessed of a second nature.

What We thought of the description:

Kismet: Whoa! Paranormals co-existing together and there are three chosen people who’ll bring the war of all wars? YES! This will be thrilling.

Kindred: I think that is sounds like a paranormal battle novel with a strong love story. It sounds exciting and believed it would be badass.

THE FIRST SENTENCE:

"I was standing with my back to the door, talking to Lacey Roberts, one of my closest friends, when I felt two big, warm hands wrap playfully around my throat from behind".

What We thought of the first sentence:

Kismet: That was exciting. I am thinking this might get hot real quick and yes I was really thinking something that it wasn’t. I admit it.

Kindred: The first sentence grabs you, literally. It was a sexy way to introduce Trace and Peyton's reaction to him. You knew the immediate connection from the beginning.

What We didn’t like about the book overall:

Kismet: I felt it was a giant cluster of paranormals in a small town. I think the story was kind of rushed and didn't give you a good enough understanding of the why these things were happening. The back story about how they were brought to this town was missing from the beginning and I think it might have gave the reader a better understanding of events to come.

Kindred: I feel like there were way too many paranormals thrown into this book all at once. If this were the first paranormal book I have ever read, I would probably stay away from the genre. But since I am a paranormal junkie, I was able to keep up. I just was thrown by it a little because of how the story starts out, and honestly the cover.

What We liked about the book overall:

Kismet: I liked the fact the characters are true and genuine. That there are typical high school cliques and there is the royal bitch (I really mean BIATCH) of the school, which in fact did some foul bitchy things. This was very much my high school growing up.

You can actually relate to the fact that Peyton has self esteem issues (Hello? Who doesn’t feel they aren’t exactly perfect surrounded by perfect girls?). I love how she is willing to sacrifice herself for the greater good and for the love of the men in her life.

I love Brady’s protective nature towards Peyton and that he is so concern for her well being. Does it come across as overbearing; yes it does but being raised with two older brothers, you learn to accept it as their way of showing their love for you.

Trace, oh Trace! To have a man love me the way this delicious morsel of man loved Peyton, I would die a happy woman. Sure the world around them is chaos but in the end their love for each other is refreshing.

Lacey is by far a ride or die chick and I love it! Her 2nd nature isn’t what one I would want personally but she is true to her best friend Peyton and the people she loves.

Kindred: Trace and Peyton’s relationship was hands down my favorite part of the book. The will they won’t they aspect, the chemistry; I was rooting for them the entire time.
I love Trace. He is described so perfectly you can’t help but fall in love with him.

Leighton has a way of making her characters so real that your heart actually breaks while reading. You feel what the characters feel. That is what I loved about this book.

Brady and Peyton…I loved the brother sister bond they had. It seemed natural and unforced. Like I said, Leighton has a talent for character development…

I honestly don’t get books (there are so many) where the big brother has a huge issue with his best friend being with his sister. Wouldn’t you want someone you love to be with another person you love? I mean in the end if it doesn’t work out that is tricky yes, but to go full on violent about it and/or stop talking to someone over it is just ridiculous to me (This is in general not just about the book).

Would We recommend this book:

Kismet: For any paranormal junkie, HECK YES! The cliffhanger was killer and you knew that the next book was going to be epic. I read the book in a day, which is saying something because I wanted to know what was going to happen next. It could get tweaked a bit by giving a better overall look to the book and an in-depth introduction of the town’s back-story. Other than that, I think this really could be a killer series. Well done Michelle.

Kindred: I am a true Leighton fan and it had negative reviews and amazing reviews. I genuinely ended the book wanting to go hop on Amazon and buy the next book. I was sad to see that it was yet to be written, but I still cannot wait to see what happens. I LIVE for a book with an amazing cliffhanger. Leighton gave me a real punch in the face at the end of the book! I took back everything I disliked about the book and wanted MORE.

I think if the book gets a new awesome cover, and a little more promotion (I have had diehard Leighton fans ask me what the heck this book is, which tells me that either it was a plan to keep it hidden, or that it just didn't get enough press), that “Gravity” can really become another BESTSELLER that Leighton can add to her very quickly growing list!

Very often, when I am reading a self-published author's ebooks I can tell that I am reading a self-published author's ebooks. They might be full of typos, or the dialogue might be forced, or the book might be lacking in good detail -- as if the author might have had this great story in his/her head but just was in too big of a hurry to tell it to me. Well, I have to say that I have never, ever felt this way with any of the wonderful books written by M. Leighton. She creates amazing characters that are likable and deep. She creates layers within her novels that help to create a rich background for the story as it is being told. I rarely find myself frustrated with any lack of description or because characters are too cliche. In short, Leighton is an amazingly talented authors -- probably one of my favorites. So I immediately download any new book of hers whenever it becomes available.

Gravity is the latest Leighton book to become available for kindle, and once again Leighton has amazed me with her ability to tell a wonderful story. I really enjoyed this story a lot. What is interesting about this story is that there are a lot of elements within the story that you could find in any number of paranormal or young adult books. There is the pining for a secret love. There is conflict with a mean-spirited popular girl. There is the discovery of a soul mate. There is the loss of that soul mate. There is the story of a young girl who discovers that she is more than she ever realized, along with the discovery that the world around her is not what she believed it to be. So there are lots of things that have been done before. And yet somehow the story is told in such a way that it seems completely new and original. Indeed, the idea of the people in this novel having "second natures" where they are basically sharing bodies with some sort of supernatural creature is a completely original take on the paranormal universe. It gives you the standard vampire/werewolf/witch/you-name-it story, but it adds the drama that would occur if you suddenly found yourself changing into something else one day in the school cafeteria. I liked the originality of the story.

As for the characters -- Leighton has always been able to create heroines for her stories who are witty and strong and funny, and she does the same with Peyton in this novel. Peyton feels as if she is a relatively average girl, but she finds out during a lunar eclipse that she is anything but. She eventually discovers that she has an extremely important role in the world, and this book really involves her coming to terms with that and figuring out how she was going to manage her life in this new existence. She is desperately pining for her twin brother's best friend, Trace (I'm not a fan of this name, but I do like the character). Trace appears to mostly be oblivious to this until the night of the eclipse, and then he falls for her big time. I know there are a lot of people out there who are not fans of the love-at-first-sight all encompassing devotion that sometimes shows up in these sorts of novels. I happen to be someone who loves the soul mate stories, so I really enjoyed Peyton and Trace's story. To be honest there was a lot more pining in this book than I am generally comfortable with. It seems as if Peyton spends half of the book moaning about her need to be with Trace, and things especially get depressing for her with Trace backs away. However, Leighton manages to write Peyton's Trace-musings in such a way that it never seemed over the top or annoying. In the context of the story it just seems to be more of an example of just how important it is for the two of them to work together to solve the dilemma created in this world with the second natures. It was obvious that the two of them needed to work in tandem. I wish the two of them would have come to this conclusion a lot earlier. It would have helped the action to move along a bit smoother in the middle portion of the book. But still, it did make me happy to see them figure out their importance to each other eventually. If anything, I would have to say that I would have liked to have their relationship forged out even more in this book. They had such good chemistry and good report with one another. I was hungry to read more of this within the book -- less of Peyton's anxiety and more development of the relationship, or at least more of a showcase of the ease of their relationship with one another. But to be fair, Peyton had a lot thrown at her in a short amount of time, and her relationship with Trace was not your average run-of-the-mill sort of teenage relationship, so her anxiety and the speed of her attachment to Trace made sense in the whole pace of the book.

I really did enjoy the wonderful portrayal of the brother/sister relationship between Peyton and her brother Brad. It came across just as a brother/sister relationship should -- equal parts love, irritation, protectiveness, humor, and comfortable companionship. Brad could be somewhat annoyingly interfering at times, but don't all good brothers do that once in a while? And the best friend, Lacey, was a great addition to the story. I absolutely loved her mangling of the the English language by intermingling words. At first I thought I was reading typos, but then I soon realized that I was understanding a character trait. She was a fun character in this book.

As for the story itself, I really enjoyed the mystery of the story and the need for Trace, Peyton, and Brad to work together in order to succeed in this new and bizarre world they have discovered. It was a good length for a story, but I have to admit that I was hungry for more as soon as I finished. I hope the sequel comes out soon so that the story can continue. This story doesn't exactly end on a cliffhanger, but it does leave the story unfinished. It is almost as if this is a setup piece for the main event which will take place in the next book. It doesn't make this a bad book at all. It just leaves me feeling a bit incomplete. I loved this book, but I know that by the time I finish the next book I will be able to feel the full magic of the entire story arc. I know this will become magic just like every other Leighton series I have had the pleasure to read. I do highly recommend this for readers who love great characters, great romance, and a bit of mystery on the side. I can't wait to see what happens next!

I think I've read this book before. No, I'm sure I've read this book before. I KNOW that my kindle and goodreads say I haven't but i could swear I have. So therefore there was kind of an air of familiarity that I had and I kinda knew what was coming next so I don't know if it felt different the first time.

This book is amazing and captivating. There's a colourful vocabulary used which was great because I felt like I learned new words and it wasn't just some crap novel like the rest (not saying the others are crap but...you know...) This book had me laughing, crying, punching and cheering. Yeah. It was that good.

I feel like this book might've been a little bit too short, though. I think it could've been milked and extended and all together I just want MORE. It doesn't help that it's two years since this book has been published and there no second book...don't worry, guys, I'm onto getting us that second book!

I am currently in search of the fandom so if you're it or you've found it then flick me a message because I ship Peyce so hard <3 <3 <3

I do have to say, though, that this book and the characters kinda lack depth. I mean I LOVE the story, but it's kinda just that. It's not a life or something I can relate to almost cause it's just one dimensional. I hope that it's either reworked (I can see so many easy ways to do this and am, as of right now, itching to do so) or the sequel is used to add depth to the characters and the story, cause it would be quite simple to do and would just add that "WOW" factor.

I'm now sure that I've read this book and the reason it previously escaped my mind is because it was so one dimensional that there was nothing for me to hold on to. I want the next book to know what happens but I'm not gonna DIE if I dont get it, because it was just a cutesy tale. I don't know, it's like that background music. You like the song but once it's done you don't think about it again, you know?

Worth a read but it's not yet made my favourites list. It needs some work but has a shit-load of potential.

This was a YA with something different. The world created was definitely unique and fresh. I loved diving into Two Lakes and finding out what was going on in this small town. One of the best things about this novel is the relationship between Peyton and Trace. Right from page one you get to see what is happening between them, and then the action starts. It is a fast moving book with lots of twists I never saw coming.

Peyton was well built character. She is under a lot of pressure with so many things coming at her from every direction, but she doesn't let that get her down. She is more a peacekeeper than a fighter, especially between Brady and Trace. I like her character, she cares about her brothers feeling towards her being with Trace more than most sisters would. Heck even me, I would of been one of the ones telling Brady where to go. But I respect her more because she does care.

I loved Trace. He was so in love with Peyton and it sure showed. He was willing to deal with the wrath of her brother/his best friend to be with her. When he finds out the truth about his parents it almost broke my heart. You can't help but relate to him, love him! He's a great match for Peyton.

I loved the idea and how M. Leighton brought her story to life. It left me wanting more. Though it was not a very long book, I never felt like I was rushed through it. It was an interesting book, and I can't wait for the second part.

This was actually a really good read. My only complaint is her relationship with her brother, the way he freaked out about her hooking up with his best friend but then him having no problem hooking up with hers was beyond annoying. Maybe because my family is different, but if I had a brother that acted like that I would have kicked his butt and instead she took it and let him dictate her life. It drove me nuts for most of the book and was a real deterrent in terms of me liking her character. I could tell she was a strong character but her weakness with the her brother was beyond annoying and really hurt her as a truly strong MC in my opinion.

What saved this book for me was the fact that (other than Trace) she didn't run from her abilities or what was happening to her but instead embraced it. The second reason I loved this book was because of Trace and how awesome their relationship was. It had some similarities to Significance but nothing as crazy as that book was. They were not so insanely and instantly in love that you felt creepy about it. While part of what they had was a supernatural love, their relationship made sense and you didn't get the over the top weird feeling that I got from Significance.

All in all, it was a pretty great read and I'm really looking forward to book #2.

This is my first M. Leighton read and it certainly won't be my last! This book was incredible! I flew through it in a day! I loved how Ms. Leighton started the story off right away, putting the clues there but not bombarding the reader with an information dump. You learned things right along with Peyton and none of it felt forced, it felt natural. That's talent if you ask me! I adored the characters! Especially Peyton and Trace (and Brady and Lacey of course)! I liked how it wasn't like some books where you hear over and over that the character's smart but they never do anything to actually prove it. It never stated that Peyton was any kind of genius but through seein her reactions and thoughts and how she figured things out it was apparent she was one sharp girl! I also thought it was really cool how Ms. Leighton used a broad vocabulary. Her characters used real words that weren't simplified but didn't come across as stiff either. Really cool! And Trace. Wow! Don't even get me started! He was incredible! I fell in love with him after the first two chapters! The only thing I was really left wondering was why she relived the one day? I didn't really get how thT happened but maybe it'll be explained in book 2! Which I can't wait for! Overall an amazing book! I'm in love!

I started this book because it was was written by M. Leighton and she is one of my favorite authors.

Best part of the book: The characters were very good. Trace, Peyton, Brady and Lacey were well amazing together. I liked their interactions together and how they did want to protect each other. Another part that I enjoyed was the ending! It was a great cliffhanger.

Not so great part of book: *hangs head* Okay, I am going to be honest. I did not like the beginning of the book. It seemed to take me forever to get into it. I am not a fan of the "groundhog effect". For those that don't know what that means it comes from the movie "Groundhog's Day" with Bill Murray. I actually had to reread the first few chapters because I was not sure what was going on. BUT ............ once I figured out that there was more to the story line than just the "groundhog effect" I really started to enjoy it. Some of you that read this might like that deja vu effect in books. If that is the case, then the beginning of the book (and the whole book) is for you!!

I will read the second book when its released.

Not my favorite M. Leighton book, but still intriguing. I like the mythology element as well as the theme of soul mates that run through her stories (I’m not a fan of love triangles!). I really liked Peyton, Trace and Brady, as well as Peyton’s friend Lacey. I was a bit confused through this book at all the rules of the world and I felt like it ended right as I was beginning to piece all the elements together. The story just seemed sort of rushed. There were also some things that I didn’t understand – , which I hope are explained further in book two. Honestly, the book wasn’t that long and it left me wanting more. I am interested enough to read the next one, however. And I love this author's books, so I’ll definitely continue to read more!

I read this book in about 12 hours. At first, when I first found out about the vampires and werewolves, I was surprised that's what was going on. I thought this book was going in a totally different direction - and I wasn't disappointed.

M. Leighton did it again! Bringing another fantastic, heart-wrenching, action-packed novel that left me literally on the edge of my seat anticipating the second installment of this two-part series. She took the idea of vampires and werewolves and turned it on its ear, adding in factors that still boggle my mind. Fantastically written, I couldn't put it down until I reached the final page.

Having just finished this book, I want to pick up another book by this fantastic author and immerse myself in her wonderfully crafted worlds.

M.Leighton continues to surprise me with her Characters , her story and her story telling technique . The woman is pure awesomeness !!!
Gravity for me was a really sweet and surprising read . I mean if you read this book , you'll find out that it is'nt your normal story . Like , the characters in this book , they are just not normal human beings . And if i explain it supernaturally then i could say that you'll find a lot of different kinds of beings here . And the ending , actually had me wanting for more . I'm definitely reading the second book in this series . On the whole , an amazing story !!

A-MA-ZING!!! I already knew that I loved M. Leighton's books, but I am still awed by the unique & thrilling stories she continues to write! As always, I love the characters - Peyton is so strong & willing to make any sacrifice to help the people she loves and that helps her handle the huge changes she is experiencing rather well! And Trace is absolutely dreamy & strong & those eyes....wow...OK back on track here. Trace is a hottie, that's for sure! This book was so full of excitement I could hardly stand to put it down! I'm dying to find out what happens next!

I normally don't write reviews so bare with me if it's not that great. First I love M. Leighton her writing is wonderful as several others have stated she is great with words and making you feel her world she writes about. This book was great but way to short. For a fast reader like myself I was finished before I got started. But the story line was good and unique. It could have used a little more character development between Trace and Peyton but I guess that will come in the next one. With that said can't wait for more of her books.

Wow! I don't really know why it took me so long to read this book. I mean, I had read every single one of Michelle Leighton's books, save this one. Weird, right? Anywho, this book was REALLY good! So many different creatures all in one place, but they all fit together seamlessly. Peyton was an excellent protagonist (I pictured Alexis Bledel); Brady was an awesome brother (Chace Crawford); Lacey provided some perfectly timed comic relief (Rachelle Lefevre); Trace *swoon* was just downright amazing (Alex Pettyfer <3). Great characters + great plot = anticipation for Book #2!

I always expect great things from M. Leighton, and this book was no exception! This was a very unique story, I don't think I've read anything like it before. It was filled with mystery, romance, thrills, and TONS of unanswered questions which makes me really excited to read the next book when it comes out!

In the beginning I was kinda of irritated by the whole déjà vu thing even though I was drawn in by the first chapter the second kind of killed it for me. I was a little bored with the book for the first half of it but then it eventually picked up at the end leaving me curious enough to want to read the second book.

I have been reading the same type of book over and over lately and needed a change of pace. I was going through my books and thought what the heck! Let's try this one! I enjoyed Gravity so much that I finished it in less than 24 hours! This is the first M. Leighton book I have read and I can definitely say that it won't be my last! Can't wait for book 2!!
