For years, Laynie's been trying to kill her crush on her brother's best friend, Josh — who treats her like a little sister. Things take a turn to the delicious side when Josh gets her in a lip-lock. Now she can't think about going to prom with anyone else. But hoping for love from the king of fast-and-loose hookups will only lead to heartbreak. Or will it?
Brain candy. Cleansing your reading palate one book at a time.
Veronica Blade lives in Southern California with her husband and children. By day she runs the family business, but each night she slips away to spin her tales. She writes stories about young adults to relive her own childhood and to live vicariously through her characters. Except her heroes and heroines lead far more interesting lives — and they are always way hotter.
Wow! Totally forgot to add this one in my "read" bookshelf. Not to mention review it! I'm a dork, don't mind me.
Anyways! The last book has to be my favorite in the Single Girls series. Laynie is so relatable to me. With two brothers, I tend to mingle with their friends. And, though I never liked any of them more than like a brother, I can't say the same for them. Its so awkward when you are hanging out with them and they put the moves on you. You don't know how to take it, either. You can't tell if they are serious or just looking for another score. I'm glad Laynie kept her head held high and assessed the situation. Luckily Josh is perfect in every way :) So glad all the girls found what they were looking for and they got what they deserved in the end. Now we need to see prom!
I have loved all three of the Single Girls books and I think this might be my favorite. Single Minded is a delightful teen read that had me hooked from page one. I like the plot of Laynie having a crush on her older brothers best friend Josh. I like how Laynie had doubts and was trying to figure things out. I felt like I could relate to Josh and Laynie. It just puts a smile on my face. This was a great little escape for me! I will be reading this series again. I felt like I was swept back to High School with my two best friends. I hope you enjoy this series as much as I did.
just fyi~ This story does contain a few swear words but no sex!
Laynie is a girl who will not settle for less than she wants. I love that. No matter how much she likes her brother's friend, Josh, she will NOT be just another girl he dates. She wants it ALL or NOTHING. Go, Laynie!
I really admired her strength and determination. And the chemistry between Laynie and Josh had me reading faster and faster because I just had to know how it would end. Veronica Blade provides sizzling chemistry between Laynie and the guy she's always crushed on. This is a fast-paced read that will make you root for Laynie to get everything she wants and absolutely nothing less.
I received this book from the author on a read to review basis.
I could complete this review in two words: simply delicious. This could be my favourite of the three in the Single Girls series, but all of them are totally amazing feel good books.
Finally its Laynie’s turn for a date to the prom, and despite having already been asked by a couple of guys, she’s not the kind of girl to settle. She’s had a crush on her brother’s best friend forever, but is he off limits, or will he just break her heart?
LOVE THIS SERIES! Three GREAT shorts, but this one is my favorite. LOVE JOSH! The girls continue to be such great friends and so supportive of each other. Could see this story playing out at any high school on any given day. If you want to smile or need a quick happy "pick me up", read the single girls series!
Out of all three books this by far is my favorite of the three. The characters are just so endearing. Laynie's brother' s friend Josh is staying over again so he is there when she comes home from school & no one else. Sparks fly like the forth of July between the two. Laynie can't tell if Josh is toying with her or not. A must read.
Out of the 3 books, this was probably my favorite. Laynie and Josh seemed like they had a good connection with each. They only thing is I think Josh should have said something sooner if he really did like her for that long.
These stories were okay overall. I think them being so short was the downfall because it made the overall story less without more information. They were a nice read though.
I just finished the third book of the single girls trilogy. All of these YA short stories were really good but I think this one was my favorite. All three books were super sweet and really felt very complete for being so short. Veronica seems to be able to bring out so much of the characters in such sort stories.
Laynee sudah naksir sahabat kakaknya, Josh sejak lama. Tapi hubungan mereka hanya sebatas kakak adik. Apalagi Josh selalu terlihat gonta-ganti pacar. Sampai suatu hari tiba2 Josh menciumnya. Cerita terakhir dari seri ini. Kisah cinta dengan sahabat kakak. Manis banget. Sekali lagi biar singkat penulis bisa menceritakan inti cerita dengan pas. Penutup seri tang pas.
This one was my favorite out of all three of the "Single Girls" series. I love Josh. He is just enough bad boy to make you swoon. I loved Laynie and Josh's relationship and how they discover the truth about their feelings. This book is fantastic and to me, it is defintely worth the read!
