About the author

Hiro Mashima (Jap: 真島ヒロ) is a Japanese manga artist.

He gained success with his first serial Rave, published in Kodansha's Weekly Shōnen Magazine from 1999 to 2005. His best-selling work, Fairy Tail, published in the same magazine from 2006 to 2017, became one of the best-selling manga series with over 72 million copies in print. Mashima began the currently ongoing Edens Zero in 2018.

Fairy Tail won the Kodansha Manga Award for shōnen manga in 2009, and Mashima was given the Harvey Awards International Spotlight award in 2017 and the Fauve Special Award at the 2018 Angoulême International Comics Festival.

Me gustó 👉👈 y precisamente en este volumen apareció Laxus y ya me acordé porque saltan en el tiempo juju

A veces a Natsu le dan demasiado poder y bueno que igual es un problema recurrente en los mangas pero mientras no sea el único al que le hacen eso no influye tanto para mi. Además que igual le dan harta importancia a los lazos entre compañeros y que cuando están juntos sacan su mayor potencial 💜

Ultear me sigue pareciendo una tipo loquisima pero igual me gustó su escena con Ur, y en general toda la batalla con Gray.

Y esos del consejo 0 ayuda xd son unos incompetentes jajaj mañana sigo

Grey se enfrenta a la hija de su maestra.

ACLARACIÓN
Todos estos puntos están de alguna forma influenciados por conocimientos y opiniones que ya tenía sobre la historia gracias a la adaptación del anime y al ser esta una relectura.

ASPECTOS POSITIVOS
- IMAGINATE ABRIR EL TOMO CON ESA PORTADA DE LAXUS Y ESPERAR QUE NO ENTRE EN UNA CRISIS. MASHIMA SEÑOR. DEJA DE JUGAR DE ESA FORMA.
- Las peleas estuvieron muchísimo mejor planteadas y dibujadas que en los dos tomos anteriores. El enfrentamiento entre Gray y Ultear fue el cargado de emoción del volumen por el pasado que los unía. Me encantó que Gray no amargara a la hora de pelear. No importa que Ultear sea la hija de Ur, ella es alguien que lastimó a su gremio y por lo tanto debe derrotarla. Y por fin entendemos el personaje tan misterioso que es Ultear. Alguien que está desde el principio de la historia y cuya magia es de las más interesantes. Cómo no enamorarse de alguien tan bello, perfecto y poderoso como ella????
Y esa pelea final con Hades fue mas larga y ardua de lo que recordaba. OBVIO QUE APARECIÓ LAXUS PARA VENGARSE DE LO QUE LE HICIERON A SU ABUELO. Pero es justo que sea los miembros oficiales de FT quienes derroten al final boss. Me gustó mucho que sea una pelea en conjunto. Natsu, Lucy, Grey, Erza y Wendy peleando juntos en vez de sólo Natsu. Eso es exactamente lo que quería: buena coreografía (Mashima sabe como dibujar movimientos fluidos) y un ida y vuelta constante entre el malo y los buenos.

ASPECTOS NEGATIVOS
- Mashima hizo lo mismo que en el arco de Oración Seis: usar a Jellal/Laxus como deus ex machina de Natsu. Entiendo que Laxus ya no es un miembro de FT y que el punto es que los protagonistas derroten a Hades por lo que le hizo a su director, pero loco al menos úsalo un poco más antes de dejarlo K.O. El hype llegó y se fue demasiado rápido.
- Hades terminó siendo peor villano final que cualquiera de los que vimos hasta ahora en la historia. Irónicamente su personaje se vuelve mucho mas interesante al adentrarnos mas en la historia de Fairy Tail como gremio y en especial en Fairy Tail Zero

CONCLUSIÓN
El final (?) del arco de Grimoire Heart entrega más en lo que a batallas y momentos épicos se refiere. Los capítulos sirvieron para mostrar el poder del gremio y lo que los une mejor que cualquier otro final de arco hasta el momento, pero se queda corto en cuanto a sus villanos. Ultear se los lleva puesto a todos.

4/5 Volume 29 is just a nonstop battle. We start with an epic battle between Gray and Ultear. There we get more back story on Ultear and her mother Ur (Gray's Teacher). This was a fun couple of chapters.

The remainder of the volume is the remaining Fairy Tail members vs Hades the guild leader of Grimoire Heart in their final confrontation. This is a fun fight albeit similar to others in the series. We also get a surprise returning character this volume as well which was pretty fun.

End of the arc, and what an end! Solid pacing, an ever-building final fight, a few new ways of using magic and the abilities of everyone coming together in the way I expect from this book.

Only drawback, and unusual for this series, is that sometimes I encountered panels that left me feeling puzzled, unable to make out precisely what was going on. Not enough to hurt the overall flow of the story, however.

Y'all our heroes are now battling the final boss, the second master of Fairy Tail also known as Hades will our favorites beat him? Fantastic action in this one as we begin to conclude the Grimoire Hearts arc... but I still wish to know more about Zeref and Mavis as well. Onto volume 30!

I love the scene which Luxus appears in front of Nastu. When I saw this scene, I had goosebumps!! However, I can’t recognize a new skill which Nastu gets. Were thunder and fire mixed? The entire story is good but It’s nonsense. 😰

This volume alone was a perfect encapsulation of how inconsistent this series can be. One last-moment rescue comes after a total fake-out and even the characters acknowledge how it makes no sense. But then another character makes an appearance after some fairly significant buildup that felt rewarding for having paid attention. It also shows the extent to which this series is willing to go just to have Natsu be the ultimate victor. It’s dumb and I don’t like it.

Same thing goes for how Urtear was handled. Her powers lack... any imagination, and her personality flip-flops wildly between absolute psychopath and sympathetic victim of a tragedy. And the way her fight with Gray was resolved is beyond stupid.

Lovely spreads, though.

Mashima will keep readers enticed with this emotional entry. New powers are going to be needed if Natsu wants victory...

Grey vs. Ultear
Ultear was sending Greys magic forward in time, this evaporating it. He switches styles, and starts whooping her. Then she uses an ice make magic spell?
Ultear was ‘abandoned’ and in a magic research facility to make her increase her MP
Grey and Ultear fall into the sea, where Ur’s ice magic melted too. Ur is showing Ultear a memory. Of Ur begging for help as Ultear young body is overwhelmed by MP causing her to have sickness. Ultear finally understands Ur did really love her
Ultear admits her fight is over. Grey wins.
Lucy, Natsu, Wendy, Happy, Carla and Lily are going to go defeat Hades.
Zancrow intercepts Merudy and attacks her. Zeref awakens, says Acnalogia’s name and then kills Zancrow with a magic outburst
Erza and Grey meet up with the team, they all make it to Hades and plan to start his beating
They plan to attack him full force from the very start
Their unison raid seems to barely touch Hades. He claims it was a warm up and then sends an attack out to Wendy, leaving on her clothes to fall to the floor?
Horologium appears with Wendy in his grasp. (Thank god!) she’s ready to fight again and with a new outfit.
Hades reveals to the guild members that he is second FT master: Precht
The magic council (along with Doronbolt) is fleeing after hearing Acnologia’s name
The FT Team is down, badly beat
Lightning strikes Hades IN the ship
LAXUS HAS COME TO SAVE THE DAYYYYY!!! GETTING REVENGE FOR MAKAROV!!

The FT members take another stand, issuing their friendship as a boost to push through the fear.
The thing Happy, Carla and Lily found was Hades ‘heart’ which makes his magic disappear.
Natsu punches him again.

The Team and Natsu gives Hades another, heavy thrashing. It looks like it’s the end of his road.

I love Laxus redemption Arc. These next few volumes are about to be some of my favourite I believe.

Y’all I can’t handle right now. This volume gave me goose bumps and still had my heart racing. What a volume!!!! Usually I’m not a fan of a weird combination of soft and hard magic systems but in the case of fairy tail’s quirkiness over all, it works perfectly. I never know what’s to happen and I’m completely fine with it because I’m just along for the ride. This volume is a very good example of this weird combination where you feel like you have the general set rules of the magic system but then you just have all the random things being thrown into it that breaks all of them or in my opinion just keeps throwing a great twist in the magic system at every turn. This is final battle leading up to what’s going to happen with Zeref later on and man what a battle. Our team is absolutely amazing and the friendships and lessons in concurring fear are perfect. The heart of fairy tail and their values of friendship are exactly what I love best about this series. I want to instantly pick up the next novel but I don’t think I can handle that wave of emotion again so soon. Will have to wait till morning lol.

This will be my full review for this entire series. I already read this comic from volume 1-30. Suppose there 50 volume more of this series but I prefer not to finish it as I don't really like the time-skip idea in this series.

To clarify, I love the idea of time-skip. But, in this series, I really hate it. It make Natsu and other main member weaker. Why make them weaker? I want to see MC progress throughout the series. Then, suddenly become weaker. Not to mention when MC want to win each battle, power of friendship keep coming back each battle.

Furthermore, there are a lot of un-explained things happened in this series. The dots are not connected rather than scattered throughout the series. It just there to fill the plot-hole. Rather than explaining, Mr Hiro keep continuing the series and keep adding new characters each volume.

So, after the time-skip, I determine to stop reading this series. I don't want to ruin my memories of this awesome series. For most part, this series actually had huge potential because of interesting and lovable character, but the plot is keep on damaging this series slowly.

Loved this volume!

I’ve mentioned before that I have watched the anime upto the Tartarus arc a few years ago and that this is my first time reading the manga and I’ve realized that many of the things they added in the anime makes this arc better, like Levy and Lisanna (and I think Cana as well) fighting either Hikaru or that chicken and samurai duo from the beginning (can’t remember exactly who) while Natsu and the gang are fighting Hades. I really liked that they got their moment to shine. I want to rewatch this arc and the Grand Magic Games arc after I’ve finished reading these two arcs.

Grey battles against the daughter of his master, in another cool battle full of ice attacks and flashbacks. Next up is the Second Guild Master vs. Fairy Tail current members highlight this hard-hitting volume! Just as the battle starts to tilt too far out of reach a mysterious character from the series returns in Goku (Dragon Ball Z's main character) style excellence to turn the tide! Definitely a cheering moment when it happens in this book! There is a lot of cool action as well as twists that makes this volume another excellent installment and MUST READ material if you're a fan of the manga or anime.

Panther lily is afraid of thunder? I found this so adorable—just like Happy said “he does have a cute side.”

Ultear’s motivation and lesson were palpable, and arrival by a bolt of lightning in a storm will forever be the best entrance. One thing though: it was said Natsu ate Laxus’ lightning before in a past volume, so it’s a bit odd everyone was surprised by it.

The Tenrou Island arc continues in a very exciting volume, you can just feel the emotion and again I don't it's because I saw it in the Anime but it was captured really well here.
