My name is Victoria Ruth Limbert, born and raised in Lincoln, England and the youngest of 5 (the hardships)

I am the Author of my debut novel Lilith, the first book in a series I am writing called The Twin Soul Novels. The books follow Annette and the She-Demon Lilith as they work together, on a shaky truce, to survive the human and the demon worlds.

I began writing when I was very young. I saw how my dad would become completely immersed in a book (usually Stephen King, David Gemmel or Dean Koontz)to the point where my mum would have to shout him at least five times before he answered. I knew I wanted to write stories others could become lost in, I wanted to make them forget the people around them, the time and their worries. A place to escape.

As a child I wrote a 70 page story about demons, vampires and other dark things no stable child should write about. As an adult, I took that child's story and turned it in to a full length novel. Now I work towards my dream and hope people enjoy my books. Be aware that some themes are incredibly dark, disturbing and for adult eyes only.

I enjoyed this novel very much, especially the relationship between Lilith, a powerful demon, and Annette, a demon slayer. Annette is sharing her body --and mind -- with Lilith, and has been for a long time. They have learned to exist together, although Lilith does take control at times. Lilith has some horrific hungers and the things she does to her victims...it is scary. But I was fascinated by it because you have Annette's humanity in direct conflict with Lilith's demonic self.

Annette is asked to help investigate murders that were deemed unusual -- the victims were missing various (different) organs and had the pentagram painted on them somewhere. Michael, the detective, and Annette, don't really get along at first, but they warm up to each other -- quite a lot, actually, as they are suddenly in love by the end. That's one quibble I had with this book - there wasn't enough interaction between them to justify them falling in love so quickly.

I liked the Underground City and the Princes and hierarchy of the various demons. It was interesting and very uniquely done.

I also liked the climax and the twists that happened, and how Annette and Lilith took care of business. It was well done, not clichéd, and it kept me on the edge of my seat.

Looking forward to reading book 2 in this series.

I would like to take this opportunity (as I do not want to review my own book) to thank all those who mark this book to-read,read, put it on any shelf category or rate/review it.

I first began writing this book as a child and watched it evolve throughout my adulthood while I have worked on it. It was great to write, tough and emotional at times, and I am glad I made the choice to self publish it. The Indie scene is very friendly.

To all those who read it in the future, I hope very much you enjoy it and do not hesitate to contact me with any questions, comments and feedback.

Thank you!

I've been talking to Victoria on twitter and I decided to buy her book.
Let me start by saying that this isn't the usual type of book I read but I'm really glad I did. Don't get me wrong, I love horror and fantasy but I expected it to be like 'Twilight'..... and it was a bit like Twilight in parts, but much more.

For a start there was much more sex and violence, very adult content rather than just aimed at young teenage girls. It had erotic moments like 'Fifty Shades' too but the demons were real rather than internal demons.

The storyline centres on a young woman 'Annette' that is possessed by a demon called 'Lilith'. In fact the souls of the two women share the same body. They are basically an outcast from the Human world and the Demon world. The story is told in an investigation type way as Annette/ Lilith look into a spate of recent deaths. This investigation takes her through an underbelly of hidden bars, dark corners and grim different worlds.

For me the real plus points of the book were the central character. I really enjoyed this woman who is torn in two. She is flawed and real and although she has done terrible unthinkable things she still tries to claim redemption. You root for her and she drives the story forward as each part of the plot reveals a little more of her character.

I found that the author writes with a clear concise way and her language really makes the strange worlds and colourful unusual characters come to life. I found it hard to put the book down and that is always a good sign.

The reason I didn't give this five stars was because the first few chapters were a little too slow and the book just needed another edit. Also, just a minor point put does every person always have to be stunningly attractive. Sorry it's just a pet hate of mine.

Overall however, a thoroughly enjoyable read and I would definitely recommend. A must read for all fans of supernatural/fantasy.

Lilith is the first in the Twin Soul series, and an incredibly powerful and thrilling novel that will have the reader gripped from the start. Throwing the reader into an uncomfortably sinister world that you don't want to be in but can't quite leave, with incredibly complex characters that draw the reader in even further, I can quite honestly say it's one of the best reads I've come across in a while.

The only (and incredibly minor) fault I could share is the author splits 'into' into two words, 'in' and 'to', throughout the book, but to be honest, I became so engrossed in the story I barely noticed it.

I encourage anyone who enjoys a strongly written, powerful paranormal suspense to read Lilith, and then follow up with the second in the series.

Limbert did great things in this story. She constructed characters that made you feel fear, love, and hate, often at the same time. The temptations and desires were real. The action was crisp and the descriptions were outstanding. I recommend reading this tale. I look forward to reading the rest of this series!

I recently had the pleasure of reading Victoria Limbert’s novel Lilith, the first installment in the Twin Souls Novels series. To give you a brief summary of Lilith, the plot revolves around a woman named Annette Anderson, who we come to find out is host to two souls (her human soul and that of the demon Lilith).

When grisly murders with demonic elements begin to manifest in her town and a detective named Michael petitions her help, Annette finds herself thrust into the role she thought put behind her ages ago: hunting down demons who threaten humanity and the balance between the mortal world and Hellworlds.
I can’t begin to tell you how often I felt the urge to write as I delved deeper into the flamboyant language Victoria wields and the flowing plot that seamlessly moved the story along. All through the story, Victoria weaves a keen sense of suspense as she peels back more and more layers behind the murders and the machinations in the Hellworlds.

Lilith features a unique protagonist with two souls, an innovative concept I never imagined before. This unusual circumstance makes for some very entertaining dialogue between Annette and her demonic counterpart Lilith.

It was fascinating to watch Annette’s relationship evolve with Michael and see her tugged between a human lover and an infernal lover. The very nature of her half-human half-demon existence creates quite the conflict when it comes to her wants and her desire to protect those from danger--including the significant danger she poses.

Victoria Limbert’s descriptions of otherworlds and its hellish denizens were chilling to the core, especially when it comes to the greater demons and their feral nature. Victoria has a frightfully vivid imagination that is well suited for conjuring a brooding atmosphere that truly leaves you feeling as though you’ve stepped into another dimension.

Lilith’s climax was so startling and intense it took me by force, which made it all the more engrossing. I always enjoy it when I can’t predict how a book will end and resolve all the questions swimming in my brain. When all was done, my head was left in a whirlwind of awe and satisfaction.

I look forward to revisiting Annette’s journeys and reading about how events unfold in Victoria Limbert’s sequel to Lilith: Fateless.

Well, what can I say about 'Lilith'. The story held me captive for quite some time as I'm not one to 'read and go'. I like a story that sparks my imagination, one that paints pictures upon which I can create whole new worlds which I can escape into for a little while... The dishes can get done at a later date.

That is exactly what 'Lilith' did. To find that this is a debut novel is quite astounding as Ms Limbert has a natural flair as a writer. Her words flow effortlessly from the page making it an enjoyable experience to read.

At one point in the story I did ask myself a question, who would win in a fight with Lilith and Annette? Purely because I'm a bloke and probably still not quite matured yet. However, at this point I'm sure I am still no closer to an answer, but I realised that I would be routing for Annette.

Annette is a human with a demon soul forced upon her. Lilith, the demon, should have taken over her body entirely but for reasons known only to those that have finished reading the story...she did not succeed. Annette was too strong and so they formed a tentative truce.

I enjoyed seeing the relationship between human and demon develop throughout the tale. Lilith likes to think she's all bad (but I can see a sliver of humanity in there somewhere)

And so with two souls must be two characters...two personalities and in this story, ultimately...two women, which means one thing. Double trouble...and that is what the demons of Hellworld get as these two souls pack quite a punch. The quarrelsome dialogue back and forth is also quite amusing.

My only criticism is that these two are always on heat.. They can not look at a rippling six pack or a sweaty demon without falling in love, or lust. It's hard keeping up with them on that score, but that could just be because I'm only interested in the violence and gore, not the hot and sweaty encounters or thoughts. Of which there are plenty of both.

A very good read and I am looking forward to reading the sequel, 'Fateless'...

Lilith is a tale of demons living in our world that simmers with mystery, drama and sexual tension.

Ms. Limbert quickly weaves visual descriptions of demons, spells, and magic that pull the reader right in from the beginning. I often found myself reluctant to put my kindle down. The prose flows well across the pages and it is clear Ms. Limbert is a skilled writer.

Unfortunately, there were a few things that prevented me from giving the book five stars. For one, there is a preponderance of repetition in the use of adjectives to describe the non-physical characteristics of the demon world. Reading the words "lust, pain, sex" over and over again made me a bit numb to it by the end of the book. It made the otherwise colorful and entrancing demons a bit one-dimensional.

Also, I was a bit thrown off by Annette's continual condescension to human males throughout the story. In nearly every scene where her primary interaction is with humans, she continuously thinks and speaks about how they could never understand what is going on, and how all of their conclusions are wrong. The way in which she does this, true or not, comes across as venomous which I found a bit off-putting (being a human male myself). The tone does not carry over to demonic males, and so I suspect this is an intentional choice that just had its volume turned up too high for my tastes. It made the otherwise likable Annette a bit narcissistic.

Despite this, the story is so involving that I was pulled right out of these moments back into the real juice that keeps the tale building to the climactic end. I'm not normally a reader of paranormal urban fantasy, but I really enjoyed Lilith. I highly recommend it for all fans of the urban fantasy, paranormal, and occult genres.

This an excellent, highly polished debut novel that stands out against the crowded paranormal genre.

Without giving away spoilers, the heroine, Annette shares her mind with the soul of the powerful and legendary demon, Lilith. The author does an amazing job of showing us what Annette goes through, sometimes arguing with her demonic half, and other times unable to prevent Lilith from becoming dominant. You can really feel and empathize with this complicated relationship. I can’t overstate how deep and intriguing the author makes this, never falling into the trap of a cliched possession.

The book is filled with a fascinating cast of demons, mostly in human form, but Limbert treats us to glimpses of their real and terrifying bodies. These descriptions are rich and grotesque, but not overdone, so that I never felt desensitized to the horror. I’d hate to be blase about these nasty demons! Very Lovecraftian in a way. Each demon has a distinct personality, brought to life in a memorable way with strong character traits and dialog. I can easily imagine that the demonic underworld is a place of constant political battles and jostling for power, and I’d love to read more about this.

The book is well plotted, smoothly paced, never boring and comes to a suitably epic and satisfying climax. As other reviewers have pointed out, there is sex, pain and torture, but I found the psychological horror more disturbing (in an entertaining way, if you know what I mean) than the physical descriptions. These are not wishy washy (and dare I say “sparkly”) demons – they play rough, and so they should.

Limbert is working on a sequel I believe, and it’s going to be a must-read for me. If this debut book is anything to go by, Limbert is headed for a very successful writing career.

I absolutely loved this book and couldn't put it down. You have got to read this one.

Warning! There is action, sex, lust, darkness, and a lot of pain going on in V.R. Limbert's debut novel...

When Lilith, one of the strongest demons in Hell tried to possess Annette she refused to allow Lilith to push her soul from her body and forced her to coexist in her human one. I know, a human with two souls living in her body... different right? I loved the dialogue between Lilith and Annette and found myself laughing out loud at times.

Oh, yes and did I tell you Annette is no joke and is a badass with an attitude?

Give this novel a chance and get ready to meet sexy demons, humans, and vampires with a perfect mix of sex, pain, hope, love and darkness in a page turner. Keep an eye on Limbert she is new on the scene and is only going to get better with each novel. Once she teams up with a good editor there will be no stopping her. I can't wait to read the next one.

Having followed Victoria on Twitter for some time now I was eager to read her debut novel, Lilith. Book one in the her Twin Soul’s series.

And it did not disappoint.

The plot centres around the unexplained murders of three humans, all with strange markings which can only be attributed to demonology.

I liked the fact that the story was multidimensional with a sub-plot that was subtle but more important to the events unfolding in the human world than the murders themselves. Victoria mixes the Human world and Hellworlds so well that jumping from one to another in quick succession felt ‘right’. The characters are fantastic. Though the stand out for me has got to be the characterisations of Annette and Lilith. The internal dialogue between them was perfect.

Overall, an enjoyable read and a series I am looking forward to reading. I hope that book two picks up where the first book ended.

This has got to be the best paranormal thriller that I have read in AGES!

Meet Annette, a human who possesses the "Sight" and who has been inhabited by the Demon Lilith. She is currently a teacher of religious studies at a private school, but that's not what she always was.

Read along as she gets drawn back into her old life of protecting humanity after being questioned about ritualistic murders.

This is one kick-ass woman who battles demons while still fighting to keep her humanity.

I can honestly say that I couldn't put it down. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone who likes paranormal books, thrillers, horrors or fantasy novels. DEFINITELY looking forward to the next installment!!!

This is a attention grabbing read, the cover does not do this book justice. It is descriptive, pungent and I have to admit a bit on the creepy side. Ms. Limbert is very good at visual descriptions, so much so, it left me a bit unsettled at times, which is the only reason I did not give it five stars. Even still, I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I will be looking forward to reading the next book in this series.

This is not a usual genre for me, but I was intrigued when I read the description of Lilith by Victoria Limbert. Victoria delves into the frightening world of demons and demonic possession. It is the story of two souls occupying the same body and the terrifying battles that ensue.

Victoria has done a superb job of cracking open a window for the reader to glimpse the dark, spine-chilling underworld. Lilith will keep you rooted to your chair with its hair-raising suspense.

Limbert's characters are strong. You can feel Annette's intense struggle and suffering she has to endure and her courage to fight back.

This is definitely an adult read containing a lot of sexual situations. However, Limbert is a master at weaving the supernatural with the natural world. I believe you will be hearing more about Victoria Limbert in the future. I am giving Victoria Limbert five stars. K.D. McNiven

Lilith is a very well written, appropriately composed novel. The story is quite gripping. The dialogues are precise with no extra useless filler conversations to increase the number of pages. Due to writing style, the reader immediately connectsd to the main character. Overall the story is very intense and interesting.
