Edward is an exotic male dancer. Bella is a college student studying psychology and needs a subject to do her thesis on. Bella pays Edward to belong to her for 2 weeks so she can study him. Things soon get very interesting between them.
It is hard to articulate my feelings for Edward in this fic. You will feel every emotion possible in reading this one. From laughter, to love, to lust, to down right deep sobs. How can he shoulder so much for love ? Love of his daughter and for the love of a woman ?
A tale that we remain with me for as long as I draw breath.
Wow, this one was absolutely amazing! Storyline was unexpected and totally unpredictable, I never knew what next chapter would bring. The Red Line is raw, dark, intense, hot and very emotional story. Some parts were harsh and disturbing, but overall it was great reading! It is exactly the one that evokes all possible emotions in you and you are not able to put it down till the end.
In The Red Line, Edward is not your typical main male character. At the beginning, I did not know what to think about Edward being whore and arrogant character. Sometimes it was difficult to read about all those things that he had to do, but it made story realistic and very original. But later on, I found out that there was much more in Edward. He is insecure, broken and without hope for happiness. Until he meets Bella, the psychology student who buys him for 2 weeks so she can observe him for her thesis. Bella is very strong character in this story and real heroine.
The story is written in rotation from Bella's and Edward's point of view. So if you have the guts for really rough and emotional story, do not hesitate and read this one.
WARNING: Do not read chapter 21, author itself says that it was a wrong step in storyline and suggests to skip it.
I read this fic three years ago when it was a WIP, meaning Work In Progress for those who aren't familiar with the fandom slang. In my opinion, it's one of the best written ever. Every chapter ending felt like a tv show episode, hanging on edge and tying you to the next one. It's bloody cinematical, the scenes and images are strong and hard. Don't get me wrong, it's hard to read, sometimes even unbearable. Certain chapters will stay in my subconcious forever and will be visiting my nightmares for sure. But you can't help but love this Edward and his heavy baggage amd this naivë Bella who has to grow faster than fast. There's a scene almost at the end of the story that made me cringe because seemed petty and a little bit lame but well, all in all is a great reading. The sequel? Not as good, in fact if I could be back on time, I'll never read it. The perks of hindsight, right?
15% in and I'm already so annoyed by so many things. 1. This is not how strippers work. You hire a stripper for a bachelorette party, they don't french you, or go down on you, or whatever. They also don't stand to abuse in a club, even less rape. That's just a big no. 2. Psychiatry and psychology are different things. 3. Bella was anti ethical since the begging. If she's really doing a paper on a subject, getting personally involved with it makes it void. 4. Ugh. The use of words like "slut," as if it's a bad thing to be (and not a stupid standard created by society) and even worse, "retarded" is immensely off putting.
Not sure if I'll manage to finish this one. Everything about this is disfuncional and toxic.
