USA Today Bestselling Author Krista Sandor writes steamy contemporary romance with toe-curlingly hot heroes and heroines you'll want as your best friends.
5 Star Review The Sebastian Guarantee by Krista Sandor
This was an wonderful read from Krista Sandor and one that had me captivated from the start. I fell hard and fast for Phoebe Gale and Sebastian Cress in this friends to lovers story.
Phoebe was such a feisty and sassy character and don’t get me started on Sebastian. There were times I wanted to shake some sense into Sebastian but his support of Phoebe was at times heart warming. It was entertaining to watch their antics as they finally had to confront their feelings for one another and take a leap of faith.
The Sebastian Guarantee was a witty, fun story that ticked all the boxes for me. There were a number of comedic situations that at times had me shaking my head, laughing and yelling in frustration.
Let me just say up front, there’s no way I’ll do this book justice. If you’re at all a fan of this gifted wordsmith, you know we've all been eagerly anticipating this story. The kids from the Nanny Love Match Series are all grown up, and our favorite nanny matchmaker Madelyn Malone is still showing up in Denver. You didn’t think she'd leave the kids completely to their own devices, did you?
And if anyone needs an intervention, it's Sebastian Cress. He's taken the title of sexiest man on the internet to heart and has been busy living the life of the rich and famous while surrounded by hoards of women. Ugh!
See? This is why I wasn’t sure about a grown-up Sebastian! I wanted that sweet little boy who followed Phoebe, “Princess of the Hot Dog Fairies, Bearer of Cookies, and Eater of Pizza,” around blindly and conspired with the kids to give love a nudge when their adults needed it. But I quickly saw the error of my ways and was falling for Sebastian 2.0 in no time at all.
Phoebe, bless her heart, is still all Phoebe. Her love of hot dogs is now legendary, especially since she created an app to help people in the city find their favorite food trucks. Except her app has somehow managed to help people find their soul mate in the process. Between that and having Gale for a last name, Phoebe is well-known, which also makes her a target for unscrupulous tech start-up wannabes. Cue: Jeremy, the man-bun-sporting poser she’s currently dating.
Phoebe may be all that and a bag of chips when it comes to designing apps, but when it comes to picking boyfriends, it’s one 404 error after another. When the chance to showcase her app for girls in technology arises, Phoebe is determined to get it right. But our nerdy, brainy, socially awkward Phoebe knows she needs to make over, well, everything about herself, so she turns to her friend Sebastian for help. And he guarantees he can get her app in front of investors and acquire the start-up funds she needs.
The comedic timing and talent of Carol Burnett couldn’t have written this story any better. It's ridiculous, zany, outrageous, slapstick, and so much darn fun! But amidst all the frivolity is two young people finding their way, experiencing growing pains, learning what really matters, and finally acknowledging what has been in front of them all along.
Phoebe gets some touching, inspirational validation, Sebastian finds his place in the world next to his favorite person, girl power gets its due when a truly amazing idea comes to fruition, and the man bun gets put in its much-deserved place.
Hilarious and light-hearted but poignant and provocative, this charming, heartfelt, delightful read is my favorite of Sandor's so far and one of my top five reads this year. Run to the 1-Click and dive into this one ASAP. Your abs will hurt from laughing, you'll have a permanent grin on your face, and your romantic heart will be blissfully, ecstatically happy!
Krista Sandor gives me the perfect blend of humor and romance. She has a sense of humor that she folds into these characters that you don’t want to miss. Phoebe and Sebastian have been the best of friends since they met as children. And they have had feelings for each other, but neither one truly wanted to look at how deeply those feelings go. Until something happens and Sebastian goes off the rails for a few months and pulls away from everyone he loves. Sebastian wasn’t my favorite character hence the 4 star rating because there were just a couple things that happened with him and his story ARC that I didn’t love. Phoebe, though, this woman is strong and capable. And I loved every second of her. She is a little lost, but through this book with Sebastian’s help she realizes that she doesn’t need to change for anyone, they need to accept her for who she is, and how she lives her life. We get snippets of the lives of the original Nany Love Match couples and see just how their lives have transpired since the series closed out. There are easter eggs into the next, and I can’t wait.

With her Nanny series Krista brought us a bevy of charming, delightful characters with whom I fell in love. And now that universe gas expanded! 🧡💚💜. Her we have Phoebe and Sebastian, all grown up and wonderful. I adored them both! Phoebe is natural, effervescent and full of heart. Sebastian is refinding himself after a small glitch and is still the beautiful boy, now man, of the past. Full of humour, clever wit, steam, awkwardness, and the sunnyness that accompanies each book by this author, The Sebastian Guarantee takes us on a journey which will gladden any heart. The mingling of the techy and the spiritual world continues to grow! 💖💖💖💖💖
I laughed and gasped throughout this whole story as I watched them journey from best friends to adults with real big feelings.
There is something special about the stories the Krista Sandor write. She puts so much heart and soul in to these stories and the captivate you. If you are looking for a laugh out loud friends to lovers romance look no further than The Sebastian Guarantee.
Another amazing book by author Krista Sandor. I love how she took younger characters from another series and expanded on their lives and made us fall in love with them all over again, as if we didn't love them enough in the original books. Guaranteed
The Sebastian Guarantee has everything that you are looking for in a classic Rom Com and should come with a warning -- or better yet The Krista Sandor Guarantee: do not begin reading unless you have at least 4 good hours to spare, because once you start you’ll not be able to put this book down.
No matter if you’ve read The Nanny Love Match Series before or if you are completely new to this group of Friends turned Nannies and Love Matched Step-Moms, The Sebastian Guarantee book will draw you in and keep you up all night reading. For those of who met Sebastain and Phoebe when they were in 6, this is a welcome addition to the Love Match Series, and something that we have been waiting for! By itself, this is a fantastic read about the power of Love, whether it is friendship or sweethearts or just that magical connection between souls who connect, this book will leave you moved. I made the mistake of starting to read this book at 9pm and didn’t put it down until I fell asleep on my Kindle.
My Rom Com expectations were exceeded by this Five Star Book. What do I look for: 1) Great dialogue between characters-- funny and sexy. 2) Great internal dialogue that really lets me see into the characters and shake my head at what they are thinking and reacting to. With a dual perspective, it's fun to see both sides of the story as it is happening. 3) Wonderfully fleshed out, beautifully complete, and totally complex characters. This is not just for the two principles of Sebastian and Phoebe, but the return of the previously Love Matched and their children, Ms. Malone and the all Tech Investors, Food Truck Chefs and their Foodies, as well a whole new round of Tech Tweenes with the Cookie Launching Machine that I only hope will be Love Matched as time goes on. 3) Well designed complications and misunderstandings that will leave you laughing and reading on into the night. 4) Wonderfully sexy, open door, scenes -- I will never see a blue tie and not smile :D 5) And a Romantic Rivalry that fuels the story line and has THE most hysterical paddle boat chase scene ever penned!
If you are looking for a great weekend read, you can’t go wrong with this book. If you are new to this series this is a totally self contained HEA, but it is all the sweeter if you have read The Nanny and the Nerd (Book 1 in The Nanny Love Match and the introduction of Phoebe) and The Nanny and the Beefcake (Book 3 and the introduction of Sebastian)... but you can always read this now.
Our favorite kids that we’ve adored for so long are now grown up giving us their stories and I am here for all the antics. Phoebe and Sebastian are just two of the kids that made us laugh and smile throughout the Nanny Match story and their story had me smiling from start to finish. Phoebe is this beautiful, genuine, and intelligent woman that is paving her own way in the tech world, but after a not so nice exchange with “the drooler” ex of hers she feels like she is slowly falling apart, but fate has other plans. Sebastian’s life in the last 6 months has gone from being the top guy influencer to number one playboy living a fast lifestyle not caring what he does partying it up. When Seb decides it’s time to head home and try to fix his life, he isn’t expecting a Phoebe that isn’t her upbeat, do what she wants free spirit, instead he sees his best friend beating herself up over a stupid drooler and he wants to help her get herself back. These two embark on a journey of hotdog cookie eating fun that has Sebastian helping Phoebe brin gout her inner man-eating self, but what neither expected were the intense feelings that would follow. Phoebe is fierce when she starts to follow “the Sebastian Guarantee” yet deep down she will always be “Princess of the Hot Dog Fairies, the Bearer of Cookies, and Eater of Pizza” beret wearing nerd we all love. Seb and Phoebe go through some intense moments of finding their own paths, what they want for the future, and exploring a different side of this friendship, but is fate strong enough to get them to where they need to be? This story was just as amazing as the nanny series and getting to see them grow and find love was funny, emotional, and beautiful. When it comes to creating characters that will have you rolling in laughter, falling in love, and never wanting the stories to end this author knows exactly how to do that and then some. (ps. Never not once did I feel like a perv. drooling over our Seb all grown up lol)
This is a second generation book. Do you need to read the Nanny Match series to appreciate this book? No. Should you? Absolutely. The way that Krista had these characters “grow up” was so true to their personalities as children in the other series. I think that is a difficult feat to conquer and she did so well. And we get to see glimpses into the lives of all our favorite main characters from the nanny series. Phoebe's character is a unique individual that is not afraid to be herself. Although, she is beginning to understand that her brand of quirkiness is an acquired taste. She wants to do things on her own without the shadow of her Aunt and Uncle’s successes. Someone that understands that is her long time best friend, Sebastian Cress. He is kind of floundering as he learns the difficulties that putting his life on the internet can bring. It is hard to be a life coach when your life is kind of a trash fire. As Phoebe and Sebby reconnect we see all the awkwardness and humor we expect from Krista Sandor shine. Her characters are always going to give you something to laugh about while being unashamed of their individuality along with some growing pains. Another thing I really enjoyed about this book was the excitement and desire Phoebe has to help girls and women find ways to connect and empower each other. We all need more support. This is a great parallel to the Nanny Match series and the group of women that supported each and continue to do so. Madeline’s small appearance and words of wisdom to Phoebe near the end were the perfect compliment to these found families.
Phoebe finally gets her own book! I’m so beyond thrilled it was everything that I wanted it to be and more. I love that we got to see the sassy fiery side of Phoebe that we all know and love but more importantly we got to see the vulnerable side of her. The vulnerable side of her that makes her so relatable to the every day reader. Her being a tech person makes her a bit socially awkward at times, but that is part of the charm that is Phoebe. Then we get to see her bestest friend in the entire world Sebastian, someone who has been in her life since her was 6 who has been through everything together now that they are grown up things are starting to change. Being back with their crazy patchwork Nanny families is so great we love see all these people again they are so critical to Sebastian and Phoebe. But since they are both trying to make names for themselves on their own is more complex then they thought. After the latest of Phoebe’s wild ideas they go down the rabbit hole where they have to face their feeling for each other that they have been denying all these years. They can be so incredibly awkward together in social situations it is so sweet and hilarious. Watching them fall in love as adults is a beautiful thing. After they go through the curveballs that are thrown their way and they finally figured out what they truly want they are stronger than ever! They finally get their happily ever after! This is one of my favorite books, I can not wait for the next book.
This is just the sorta zany, screwball comedic genius with angry food acts and angst that I’ve come to hope for from Krista Sandor. Add in the fact that she managed to change me from HATING Sebastian with a passion for his arrogance to cheering for his epiphany and groveling, a guy deserving of all the takedowns he got, and the truth of just who the women supporting Phoebe are, and I was hooked.
You’ll feel some secondhand embarrassment for both Sebastian and Phoebe here, too. But that tends to come with the laughter or anger on their behalf and is perfectly balanced to avoid becoming OTT antics. I promise you’ll adore the trek from friends to almost-strangers to friends and then the truth of the love that has been obvious since their parents/guardians told their tales in the first series. Madelyn continues to work her magic and prove just how much she cares for this bunch, Phoebe brings girl power to women and girls who need it most, and lessons are learned for anyone who dares doubt a woman here, as well. And love. Yeah, Sebastian and Phoebe finally confess to their love. And it only takes Sebastian being a colossal moron for the better part of a year to give him the metaphorical smack his head needs to align with his heart and mouth. Because Phoebe deserves nothing less than the best. And maybe, just maybe, Sebastian is truly meant to be the one to give it to her.
Once upon a time, four men needed nannies and a wonderful woman set them up with four friends and they fell in love. Those four children became the best of friends - Sebastian, Phoebe, Aria and Ollie - and life was beatific. And then .... the four children grew up, still friends, but for Sebastian and Phoebe, something else was happening! Phoebe Gale was the tech protege of her uncle, Rowan Gale and his wife, her aunt, Penny. Phoebe is quirky, obsessed with hot dogs, cookies and pizza and stylishly challenged! She has boyfriends, but according to her current one, or soon to be ex one, people only want to get close to Phoebe in order to get an introduction to her uncle and aunt. Sebastian Cress is an internet sensation and Phoebe's best friend. But six months ago, he stopped responding to Phoebe's texts and calls, but now that his best friend needs him, he is back with a Sebastian Guarantee. He will make Phoebe so sexy and alluring, men will want to know her for her, not her family, but she must follow his rules exactly!! And oh what fun that could be! Only Sebastian makes a grave error that threatens to ruin everything he has achieved and could lose him his best friend forever. This book is funny, enchanting, with the usual heat, laughter and belonging that only family brings. A must read.
This book was RomCom perfection!! From the moment Krista announced this book I knew I was going to fall hard for this story. If you've read the Nanny Love Match Series then you are familiarised with Phoebe and Sebastian as kids but in this book they are all grown up and let me tell you their story is one you don't want to miss reading.
Sebastian is back home after his reputation isn't as pristine as before, his life is a mess and he is trying to fix his wrongs. One of his biggest regrets its the distance from one of his best friends Phoebe Gale.
Phoebe is just a breath of fresh air and I love her character so much but while she is extremely smart and trying to succeed on her own on the tech world she adores, her love life isn't the greatest and when her drooler of an ex makes her feel less than, she is determine to have a make over and become Phoebe 2.0 with the help of the Sebastian Guarantee.
This couple start a journey together without realising their true feelings for each other. Their friendship has evolve into so much more and while there were many entertaining and hilarious situations throughout the whole book, there was also a great love story.
ps: no actual hotdogs or cookies were in danger in this story ;)
If you love rom coms, you absolutely need to check this book out. I swooned, I laughed my butt off, and I cried a teeny bit. There are some spicy moments (yes, please) & heartfelt moments.
Actually!! First things first, if you haven't read the Nanny Love Match series, you need to do that. That series is where Sebastian & Phoebe & everyone else is introduced. I loved that series so much. Especially the scenes with all the kids, because they were hilarious.
I thought it was going to be weird going from meeting them as 6 year olds (Nanny Love Match) to them being in their 20s & falling for each other, but it wasn't. Not in the least. It feels like you had a chance to watch their friendship/relationship grow. I thought it was great having the scenes where Phoebe & Sebastian thought back on times in high school & college. Like we never lost time with them.
I loved this book so much. I knew from the original series that it was going to be these 2 together & it couldn't have worked out better. Sure, there were a few times I wanted to throttle Seb & ask wtf he was thinking. There were times I said to myself "where is the Pheebs we know & love!? She shouldn't be standing for this!"
I highly recommend it!
Side note: I freaking loved that Plum & Beefcake (the donkeys) are alive & mentioned!
The Sebastian Guarantee is everything you would expect in an over the top rom-com from this author to be. If you've enjoyed any of previous rom-coms, especially the Nanny Love Match series, you will love this hands down. However, if you never read the Nanny Love Match series, the author brings in enough information so that aren't missing anything. What I didn't expect was the levels of feels I would experience when it came to Phoebe and the loss of her parents.
I've read the entire Love Match Series, and I wasn't the biggest fan of Phoebe, I found her to be too much; however, the adult version of Phoebe is someone I can get behind. She still has a heart of gold and is a bit quirky, but the sass has come down a few pegs. As a woman in science, I love that Phoebe is coder and how her past plays into it. I'm overjoyed that women in STEM plays a role in this story.
Falling under Friends to Lovers (childhood best friends), this story as a lot of laugh out loud moments, some very steamy (even a little spicy) scenes, more feels than anticipated, and a good amount of heart. It's obvious that the author really enjoys writing these books, and I believe that plays in role why these books are so enjoyable.
If you read the Nanny series by Krista, then you definitely need to pick up this one and read about Phoebe and Sebastian. You could read this as a standalone, but reading the series will give you more insight into many of the characters in this one. Phoebe and Sebastian are all grown up and wow does this story keep you interested and rooting for both of them. At one point I really was hating Sebastian, but this author changed my perspective of him and in the end I loved him again. This is a perfect Rom-Com, and this author is a personal favorite of mine. This is a friends to lovers romance, and gives you lots of feels. It's also about girls and nerdy/techy girls are amazing in their own rights. I loved this one, and can't wait to read the next one about Aria and Oscar. If you need some great light reading that will make you swoon and laugh, this one is a perfect one to pick up.
OMG YES! So, I guess I should start by saying I am a HUGE fan of Sandor and am so blessed to have found her as an author and read everything she had written - so that being said, I really don't even think I'm being bias when I say this is the best ever! For those who haven't been introduced or read anything by Sandor yet - buckle up - you will fall in love with her writing, her characters, her storylines - just everything! This book has our favorite kids from the Nanny Match series all grown up - please note that this book can be read as a standalone and enjoyed just as much. Our main characters are Phoebe and Sebastian who if you didn't read about them in the Nanny series - and heck, even if you did - you will fall in love with these two in a whole new way! This is just the best - Rom-Com done with the perfect balance of sweet, steam, snark, sass and silly. A well written romance comedy that won't disappoint but will have you swoony and giggly - what more could you possibly want?
This book was given to me for free at my request and I voluntarily provided this review.
Rom com Opposites attract , friends to lovers , protective hot guy and smart nerdy girl .Krista has once again taken many of my favorite tropes to read and entwined them in the most wonderfully written story. A storyline that’s guaranteed to grab onto all your emotions so fast and pull at your heartstrings in ways you will not expect. It did not take me long to find myself falling completely in love with both phoebe and Sebastian’s character. Two people who have been the best of friends for what seems like forever. They’ve been there for one another through the good times and bad times . And unbeknownst to both they have also been harboring not so innocent feelings towards each other . Well certain circumstances lead to both finally acknowledging how they feel and from that moment on nothing will be the same again . What a emotional rollercoaster. I honestly cannot remember the last time I devoured a book as fast as this one
Skip this book. This is the most ridiculous fiction I have ever read! I may not be a nerd but to start the main female lead being some crazy hot dog lover & social media everything about it is stupid. Why would anybody take Phoebe seriously with her tech savvy algorithm? The way she's acting doesn't show her to be the confident inspiration for tweens get inspired by Technology? Let alone interest investors @ the LETIS expo Pheobe got Invited to? To prove her Algorithm will build revenue for food trucks. Then we have the gorgeous hunky life coach Sebastian Cress destroy his career in a major of months on social media by being a gigolo, Jackass because he is upset that his best friend Phoebe is interested in some jerk. To main characters are suppose to be intelligent, independent driven by wanting to build a successful Career on their own. Instead of through their rich families. On chapter 10 and still don't see that
If you have been keeping up with this series that you have already fallen in love with Phoebe I mean how can you not with the hotdog-loving woman? Phoebe and Sebastian are part of the fab four who grew up tapping out bad words and having the time of their life. When months go by without these two talking a lot can happen. Sebastian is about to lose everything and he knows it's time to take things back. He doesn't realize that his best friend will need him now more than ever. Phoebe is sick and tired of guys trampling on her, so she's about to go to the wall and come out of her comfort zone. And her best friend is about to be beside her and help her do that. Sebastian has a secret though and when it's exposed can Phoebe still be beside him? Will these two have the happily ever after they both want and deserve? I just love Phoebe she has always been my favorite.
This book is so good! I laughed and cried and laugh/cried. Yes you need tissues. And don’t try to read this at the doctor’s office because people will think you’re weird. The matchmaking continues with a grownup, nerdy, beret wearing Princess of the Hot Dog Fairies, Bearer of Cookies, and Eater of Pizza, Phoebe, aka Pheebs and a grownup Mr Licksble abs, Sebastian, aka Seb, Sebby. These two have been best friends since childhood and come to realize there’s more than best friends feelings. In this book you have great aunts and uncles, adorable sisters, some really mad tweens, hot dogs, cookies, a retreat, the quest for dreams and their perfect match. You won’t regret picking this one to read.
Phoebe and Sebastian have been friends since childhood. Phoebe, with her hot dog fetish and tech obsession, is trying to make it on her own in the tech world. Sebastian has also broken away from the family fitness business but is struggling to find his place. When a crazy dream brings him back to Denver, he agrees to help Phoebe at an innovators conference to both pitch her dream idea and make her ex jealous. When things do not go as planned and Phoebe thinks she may have to chart her new path alone, will Sebastian be able to win her back?
This is a terrific book full of fun characters and funny situations. It builds off the author’s Nanny Match series which was also terrific, although it works fine as a stand alone.
I was wondering if there was going to be hotdogs and cookies in Phoebe's book and I definitely wasn't disappointed. You could say that they are even co-stars, but you'll have to read this one to figure it out.
I love friends-to-lovers romances and I also love opposites attract. Phoebe and Sebastian are so different but still are best friende, but I loved that Phoebe trying to change herself created a bigger issue. I also loved that she not only did not give up on herself or her ideas, she lead with her heart to help others with their own ideas. I loved that she connected to many people from her past in being just who she is. I love a good romance with an important storyline with some humor mixed in.
I was a bit hesitant going into this book because I'm not always a fan of second-generation series but this one was so good. We only saw a bit of the original nanny match adults so that helped in making this story their own. Pheobe didn't change at all. She was still that precocious little girl at heart and while I thought she would have lost the love of hot dogs I guess some things never change. Sebastian, however, did change and throughout the book, he not only tried to change Pheobe but tried to keep their friendship the same. Only in a great friends-to-lovers story do we know that maintaining the status quo never works. I didn't want to put this book down and I'm looking forward to the next one for sure. *I received an ARC for an honest review*
For those who have read The Nanny Love Match series they have already met Phoebe and Sebastian. In this first book of the Love Match Legacy series, Phoebe and Sebastian are all grown up. Phoebe is still our favorite quirky gal loving hot dogs but is also now a tech genius. But she is down in her luck when it comes to love. Sebastian has been a boyo for the past six months and nobody really knows why. We finally get to learn why when Sebastian is in town and helps Phoebe. He even guarantees it. I am so happy these two finally get their HEA together. It is only natural since they pretty much have loved each other since they were kids. I can’t wait to read Oscar and Aria’s book next!
I love this sweet story. It held my attention from the first page. It was captivating, funny, entertaining and interesting. Phoebe is a fun woman. She is nerdy, pretty, intelligent and sweet. She is looking for "the one" to match. Sebastian is good man. He is handsome, fun, smart and dedicated. He is dealing with some stuff he's not proud of and trying to make amends. I love these two best friends together and I can feel the love they have for each other. I absolutely love their families and friends. Their journey is the sweetest and beautiful. The writing was spectacular! Now I want to read more from this series cause it was that good. Amazing work Krista Sandor!
Such a hilarious story! Phoebe and Seb have been such a funny pair since they were first introduced as children in the Nanny Love Match series. They were instant best friends, so it is not hard to imagine them still best friends as adults. But life has pulled the two of them apart recently. Phoebe isn't sure why, but she knows she can count on Seb to help her just like always. New feelings start to surface, though. And who knew he could kiss like that? Watching them fall in love is both sweet and hot. But my favorite parts were the crazy pants situations they keep getting into. I raced right through this book because I had to see what would happen next. So much fun!
Where do we start!! The kids have there own books!! If you have read the Nanny series then you know what I'm talking about!! If you haven't you should cause they are amazing but you don't have to cause this book is just this good!! Phoebe & Sebastian have been best friends since they were little (the Nanny series) they haven't seen each other for about 6 months but when they are back together holy smokes does it take off from Sebastian helping Phoebe improve herself because her ex was an ahole to them literally combusting together!! I will never look at hot dogs, cookies or cake the same but geez Krista Sandor you've done it again you have an amazing new series on your hands !!
