I have the bilingual version of the book. My 5.5 month old son definitely likes it. He pays close attention when I read but his reaction to the sounds and pictures are mixed and change every time. My version of the hen, duck, rooster and turkey are the ones he finds more consistently funny. I can tell he is a bit afraid of the little wolf sound and he is afraid of the image of the cricket but I think exposing him to them even if he seems hesitant is a good idea.

Oink, Moo, Meow by Sterling Publishing Company, Inc. is a Say & Play series boardbook featuring pictures of animals and the sounds they make.

Each page has an animal photo and four word sentence, for example: The pig says Oink! Animals shown are a pig, cow, cat, dog, donkey, chick, duck, orangutan, owl, frog, goat, rooster, vear, lion, chicken, wolf pup, horse, goose, donkey, lamb, dove, elephant, hamster, grasshopper, canary and sea lion. Useful for learning animals names and sounds. This should invite participation with listeners repeating the animal sounds. A good choice for small groups of babies or toddlers, or just one on one fun! Would be even more useful in a larger format. 3.5 stars

For ages 1 to 3, aminals, animal sounds, board book, and read-aloud.

This bilingual English/Spanish board book features animals and the sounds they make. What's super fun about this book is that the animal sounds don't always sound the same in Spanish as they do in English!

This is a great read aloud for storytime, especially with mixed audiences. The visuals consist of photos set against a white background.

If you like Lois Ehlert's Color Farm or Color Zoo, this might be a good companion to help learn some of the sounds animals make

A fun book for a young baby. I can see this becoming one of her favourites simply due to the nature of the style of reading and parental interaction.

nice shuttle book for children to learn animal noises. I think the different colors in the writing is a nice touch and the pictures chosen are a perfect representation of each animal. i love how its not a cartoon illustration either. the pictures are very clear and easy for children to pick up on so they can relate the animals noise to the way they look as well as the name of the animal.
