Rate this book
Half-demon Taeg is desperate to free his pregnant sister-in-law, who is spellbound to an indestructible book that will create an army of the undead. He is convinced that an ancient sword can destroy the book and the spell forever, but this relic has been hidden for a millennia by a powerful glamour. The clock begins to run out on his search when an old rival goes after the book and Taeg’s family in his quest for revenge.

Librarian Maya Flores has a secret: she’s immune to magic and is well aware of the supernatural beings prowling the streets of New York City. Haunted by a brutal demon attack that took her family, she is on a one-woman mission to destroy the evil demons who did it—and any others who get in her way.
Maya is Taeg’s best hope for uncovering the sword.
Unfortunately, she wants nothing more than to kill him. As he fights for her trust and to save his family, she is forced to face the truth that not all demons are evil. And the worst part? She might be falling in love with one, too.

Book 2 in the Demons of the Infernum series

This book pretty much blew my mind and there was so much awesome-sauce to talk about that I don’t think I could even cover it all. Lario isn’t from one of the big publishers and while I hate to stereotype usually the best books come from the big names. Lario, however, writes one of the most compelling, engrossing, deeply romantic and totally sexy paranormal romances I’ve read to date. With great action, touching sacrifice and sweet seduction combined with wonderful writing, voice, style, and character development this book literally has it all. I was in love with this book, its characters, and the world Lario built that from start to finish and I literally couldn’t put it down, even to eat. I have no doubt Lario is going to do great things with her amazing talent, and I am literally on the edge of my seat waiting for book three. The only thing I would caution: before reading Mark of the Sylph you really have to read book one, Blood of the Demon. It’s not a good standalone but Blood of the Demon is almost as good as this book, so it really isn’t a hardship to have to read the series in order. Which you should do. STAT.

Maya is a kick-ass librarian who lends books by day and, occasionally, kills demons by night. Taeg, a half-demon half-faerie Otherworld being, comes to her library while researching some old legends about a mythical sword and wonders at Maya’s absolute distaste for him when most women are attracted to his charm and good looks. Taeg soon discovers the truth – Maya can see through his glamour to his true demon form (fear not, ladies, his demon form is also sexy and attractive!), and she carries a deep grudge against all demons. However once Taeg discovers Maya's ability, he realizes that he needs Maya to use her rare ability to see through glamour to help him locate the sword which is purportedly able to destroy a book that keeps his sister-in-law in danger. But while Maya isn’t inclined to help a member of the race she so despises, Taeg just might be able to convince her to surrender to his will…

The characters in this book are phenomenally developed. I immediately felt connected and in sync with all of them and I liked them very, very much. In fact, I was in love with Taeg for all his flirty, bad boy charm. I liked Maya, because she really was an excellent fighter, admirable and strong, and sarcastically witty. Taeg was fantastic and a great hero - he let Maya fight and wrestle when she needed it (whew, that was sexy!) and held her close when she needed that instead. He was in tune with her, and his journey to falling in love with her was absolutely adorable and yet really super-hot. And I mean, wow. The sexual tension in this book was beyond smoldering. It was a frickin’ inferno. My Kindle was overheating.

As I believe I stated in my review of Blood of the Demon, Lario has created a fabulous world that is fascinating because it is extremely unique. I especially appreciated how well Lario knew her characters – like she’d sat down and had coffee with all of them and took notes to figure out who they were, deep down and on the surface. It was obvious Lario was closely connected to her characters thus making them so well-developed and all show, no tell. Lario also really seemed to come into her voice in this novel, more so than the previous one which was a little shaky. I really can’t begin to describe to you how wonderful this book was, in all ways - dialogue, plot, romance, the whole she-bang. Lario literally has made me a fan for life with her Demons of the Infernum series. I am overjoyed with her creativity, her imagination, and her ability to paint the world and characters in my mind with vivid detail and color.

In conclusion: all I can say to my fellow readers: Go out and get this book. It’s a wonderful, necessary addition to your bookshelf. The story is touching and hot, poignant and sexy, sweet and bad-ass. Mark of the Sylph is a book I will continually revisit; and I will cry and laugh out loud every time I do.

“Sexy”ness rating: Oh. My. Holy. Deity. *faints* I need a Taeg. Stat.

Overall Rating: A

Bottom Line: If you like unique and flirty paranormals with fun, intriguing plots and fast-paced, touching romances (and, of course, a to-die-for demon hero with mad sexy skills) then hot damn does Rosalie Lario have a book for you.

Maya Flores, mild-mannered librarian by day, demon-hunter by night. So, that may be overstating the matter a bit, but Maya can see what others around her cannot — demons really exist and walk the earth next to humans every single day. Being able to see what other humans cannot may sound like the starts of a grand adventure, but it led to a tragedy in Maya’s family when she was just a little girl, and ever since, Maya has lived and breathed solely to take revenge on the creatures who so violently ended her childhood.

When Taeg, a powerful half-demon, notices her revulsion to him and another demon, he realizes that she has the incredibly rare ability to see through the glamour that protects the creatures of the Otherworlds by shielding their true forms from human eyes. Desperately needing her help to find an ancient enchanted sword that holds the only hope of breaking a spell that puts a target on his pregnant sister-in-law’s head, Taeg will do whatever it takes to get Maya to comply, even if it means forcing the beautiful librarian to face her greatest fears.

While a particular erotic element or two made me frown, and I wanted to shake Taeg for a silly mistake that exacerbated all of his troubles with Maya, the romance was done beautifully, as was the transformation of Maya’s ignorance and prejudices into acceptance and loyalty.

This book definitely stands well on its own, without having to read the first book in the series, so while newcomers may not quite fully appreciate the roles of Brynn and Keegan (the heroine and hero from the first novel), the story is still easily followed and focused on Taeg and Maya’s relationship more than the backstory.

Overall, I thoroughly enjoyed this one. I ended up reading this book in one sitting, which honestly doesn’t happen that often around here any more. Maya was just kick-ass enough to be able to compete with Taeg and other demons, but was also vulnerable and just frankly human enough to keep her from being totally unrelatable. Taeg’s own narrow focus on his mission also balanced perfectly with his growing attraction to and affection for Maya, and I tell you, the scene in the fae realm was wonderful.

Recommended for fans of tortured (and fierce!) heroines having to rethink their entire realities, of heroes willing to sacrifice anything for those they love, and of delicious romance with just tiny touch of the forbidden.

Maya Flores, is a part time librarian and college student, but under the quiet façade she is a woman bent on revenge...revenge for her families brutal murder by demons. Maya can see through glamour so she is aware of all the demons walking around in our world and her goal is to destroy them all until she finally finds the demons that killed her family.

Taeg, a powerful half demon and bounty hunter for the Otherworld council, is doing some research to save his family. His research leads him to the library where Maya just happens to work. Unsure why Maya shows such hate in her eyes for him, he decides to follow her home. Maya realizes she being followed, uses all her hard won demon fighting skills to behead Taeg. During the battle Maya accidently knocks herself out, Taeg takes this advantage to kid nap Maya a discover her secrets.

It turns out Maya has a unique ability that just must turn the tables and save Taeg’s family. Unable to let her go he elicits Maya’s reluctant help. Maya soon discovers that all demons aren’t evil and there aren’t just demons out there “Otherworlders”. Her entire perspective is now threatened and she must re-examine what she held as true right and wrong.

This fantastic story held me captive from the beginning. Maya is a tortured heroin, that had to painfully reevaluate her life, her motives and her goals while being wooed by a very hunky half demon.

Taeg, willing to do anything to save his family, indivertibly puts the woman he comes to love in the front line of the battle. Taeg is a hero who will give up anything including his powers to save the ones he loves.

Mark of the Sylph bends ancient lore, paranormal creatures, alternate dimensions and smoking hot romance into a perfectly riveting story. This book stood on its own, but I will be reading book one because I want Brynn’s story. An excellent read and fabulous storytelling, don’t miss Mark of the Sylph.

This 2nd Edition ARC Copy of Mark Of The Sylph was given to me by Entangled Publishing, LLC - Entangled Select in exchange for a honest review. This book is set for publication on March 26, 2013.

Rosalie Lario, hmmm... well, I think she's quite brilliant. After reading Keegan's story, Blood of the DemonI sent Rosalie a note and asked for more Taeg. She promised that she was going to give him to me and she did. Oh, how she did. This was by far one of the best paranormal reads I've had in a while. I loved the fiesty heroine, Maya and her kick-butt attitude.

The story gave me just enough closure from Blood of the Demon to really remember why I loved the first book in this series and then pushed me into Taeg's story. It was non-stop action, sex, more fun action, hero love, heroine love, more hot sex, and did I mention freaking awesome action. The chemistry between the H & H is unbelievable and I love that Maya can so kick his... behind.

Hurry up and grab this delight. Awesome book. Bought the ebook and now am off to order the paperback to add to my faves shelf. Rock on Ms. Lario and bring on the rest of the bros.

I won a free copy of this book through a Goodreads First Reads giveaway.

Maya Flores is a librarian and self-declared demon hunter, having been orphaned when demons murdered her entire family. She’s got a special power that lets her see right through their glamours, and she seeks vengeance for what was done to her family. Taeg Meyers, a half-demon in desperate need of someone who can see through glamours, needs to convince Maya to help him. However, she hates him with all her guts (and more!) and fights their burning chemistry. In the background lurk a betrayed friend and another, more sinister, figure who both seek the Book of the Dead , a book with the potential to wreck havoc in the various dimensions.

I enjoyed this book. It moved fast, and the sexual encounters were good and not too cheesy, although the two of them do seem to be aroused 24/7. Taeg probably ranks as one of my favourite demon/part-demon heros. He’s sensitive enough to know when he’s being a jerk (most of the time), has a wicked and dirty sense of humour, and is willing to commit to huge sacrifices for the ones he loves.

However, I have an official pet peeve for paranormal romance novels: dreamwalking. I’ve seen it in enough PNR books that it’s no longer interesting to me, but cheesy. It tends to feel like a way of sneaking in extra romantic and sexual moments before the hero and heroine are actually together together. They were only a couple in this book, and they were relatively well-done.I did enjoy .

I was also disappointed by how little the strengths of the characters were used. Taeg is called a faerie, but little focus is on his Sylph powers. He only mists once (maybe twice, if I missed a scene) and “flashes” from place to place. I was expecting more emphasis on his particular breed of Fae.

I wasn’t really able to suspend my disbelief for Maya’s fighting credentials. She is a self-declared demon hunter who was trained on how to defend herself (to the death, if necessary), but I didn’t connect well with her backstory or her actual fights—they would have worked well in an action movie, but reading how she does this wall-jump-sword-attack, for example, doesn’t strike me as credible. Her close-up attacks were more believable.

That being said, I was impressed by how the story started off from Taeg’s point of view. It took me a while to warm up to Maya, as she .

Overall, this novel squeaks in at four stars (perhaps closer to 3.5 stars). In terms of romance/plot balance, Mark of the Sylph had a strong romance line that dominated and a weak plot that strung together the emotional/romantic/sexual conflict. The plot line had a lot of potential and could have been made much stronger. That being said, it’s a lot stronger than a lot of plot lines I’ve seen in romance novels that focus on the romance. Despite this being the second book, it was easy enough to follow without having read book one (although I am curious as to what happened with Mammon).

LOVED this! Full review reposted from my Smitten with Reading blog....

My Review:
This is book #2 in the Demons of Infernum series. My review of book #1, Blood of the Demon, can be seen HERE. I really enjoyed book #1, but OMG, I think that this one was even better. This world is so incredible and thorough and the four brothers are nothing short of fabulous. I adore how close they are without being all up in each other's business. I also really love how committed they are to their women by extension. This is a close-knit group of brothers and I love it when there is that relationship like this between guys in a book.

Love, LoVe, LOVE Taeg!! The absolute best thing about this book...his t-shirts. Everyday when he gets dressed, it is an adventure to see what his next shirt is going to say. I am dying to know if Rosalie made these up. If so, she seriously needs to start up a graphic tee business!!! Some examples of what they say:
Need a Job...Will Work for Orgasms
Real Men Don't Follow Directions
Awesome in Bed. I Can Sleep for Hours.
I love how even when Maya was terrified of him, the tee's helped her to laugh a little and maybe lighten up a little bit. And Maya is terrified of him. When she was 10 yo, her entire family was slaughtered by 2 demons. All she knows is that demons are evil and she has committed her life to ridding the world of them.

As such, Maya is one serious kick-ass chick!! She is tough. She is trained. She does not get intimidated, even when she is scared to death. She keeps two knives in the tops of her boots and another strapped around her torso. Demons are stronger than humans, but in her initial contacts with Taeg, she more than holds her own. She doesn't best him, but she does do some damage. This also shows what an incredible guy Taeg is...he is taking some serious hits from Maya and he never gets aggressive with her or even mad. He just laughs it all off and continues to try not to hurt her. He is honestly a real sweetheart.

In this book, the search is on for Excalibur (yes, Arthur's sword) and Maya is the key to finding it. It is rumored to be hidden by a very strong glamour, but Maya can see through glamours. At issue, she doesn't trust demons...any demons, but Taeg is quickly on his way of showing her what good guys they can actually be. There is definitely adventure in this book, but I liked that the majority of the book is really about Maya & Taeg and the development of their relationship. The bad guy is in the background, but really doesn't become an issue until the climax of the book. This book is a true romance between two incredible people that, as a reader, you can't help but to fall in love with and cheer along as they begin to connect.

Just like I loved Brynn & Keegan, I truly loved Maya & Taeg. These brothers have such a heartbreaking story, but they are such truly good guys. I am so excited about the upcoming stories featuring Dagan & Ronin. According to Rosalie's website, there are at least three more projects coming for this series:
*Touch of the Angel (book #3)
*Heart of the Incubus (novella)
*Call of the Siren (book #4)
I am so excited. I really, truly love this series!!!

Librarian, Maya Flores, knew demons walked the earth. Not metaphorical demons, but real hell spawn. She could see them. She saw them massacre her family as a young child and she is on a mission to exact vengeance on the demons that prey on innocent humans. Taeg, demon halfling and council cop, is on a mission of his own. Feeling he has to atone for past mistakes that have endangered his brother Keegan’s new family, Taeg is searching for a way to destroy the Book of the Dead, a magical tome that in the wrong hands can be used to raise an army of zombies. When he realizes the curvy little librarian can see through his glamour and is immune to his magic, Taeg recognizes a golden opportunity when it’s falls into his lap.

Just because I ‘m a series slut doesn’t mean I’m easy. I am VERY discerning when it comes to series I will follow without question. The heroes have to be waaaaay above average, and well, it’s no secret how hard I am on heroines. There has to be plenty of snark and attitude. The writing and storylines can’t lag or have down spots. It has to sizzle on the page. Book 1, Blood of the Demon, delivered on each element. So of course, I was in an absolute frenzy to see if the streak continued. I can most happily declare that Mark of the Sylph surpassed all my expectations, and they were high. These demon brothers, Keegan, Taeg, Dagan and Ronin are the hottest thing on the page right now, and their stories are on fire.

Taeg is trying so hard to make up for past mistakes, it is impossible not to want to eat him up. He is a slightly wicked charmer, who despite the best of intentions, sometimes screws up. (Awwww, I just want to grab his cheeks and squeeze) Maya is a superb heroine. She is strong and smart, with enough hutzpah to go against beings she is terrified of, and enough intelligence to know when to back off and let the macho men handle things. She is absolutely perfect for Taeg and he wholeheartedly agrees. I love the fact that there are no martyr complexes or excessive nobility ideals at work here. I also love the fact that the plot doesn’t hinge on the heroine doing something idiotic. Ms. Lario moves her story along the correct and satisfying way, through the talent of damn good storytelling.

In addition to the fantastic story and loveable characters, these books contain some scorching hot love scenes. These are not intended for the YA crowd. Parts of the ending caught me off guard and now I’m left to wonder what direction future books will take. This is sure to drive me crazy because I am not a fan of anticipation. I want to know NOW!!!! This is a certified “Must Read” series and gets my highest recommendation. I will have the next book on pre-order as soon as it is available.

Rosalie Lario continues the story of her four half demon brothers from Infernum with Mark of the Sylph, giving readers a fun, exciting and sexy ride into the world of others with cocky second eldest brother Taeg.

Feeling guilty for letting down his eldest brother Keegan and new sister-in-law Bree, who is now expecting, Taeg is on a mission to find a mythical sword that may be the only weapon strong enough to destroy the Book of the Dead and save Bree and her unborn child’s life. While doing research on the artifact he notices that there’s something strange about the sexy, but cold, librarian. When he realizes that she can see through glamour her knows she is his only hope at finding the hidden sword and will do anything to use her ability, even if it means lying and kidnapping.
After Maya Flores witnessed her family being slaughtered by demons she believes they’re all evil hell spawn and doesn’t hesitate to destroy them. When Taeg approaches her she automatically goes on the defensive, seeing through his glamour into his demon eyes, but as she’s forced to spend time with him she begins to realize that not all demons are evil. But can she put aside the guilt over her family’s death to love one of them?

Although this is the second in a series, there is just enough back-story to fill in new readers, though I do recommend reading the first book as well since it was pure awesomesauce!

Full of danger and desire Mark of the Sylph was just as stellar as the first novel in this series, Blood of the Demon. Lario has built a complex, interesting world without weighing it down with too much detail. Her writing style flows from the pages and her characters come to life. I absolutely love each of the four brother’s this series follows and for the life of me cannot pick a favorite, which is rare in my case, they’re all sexy and intriguing with endearing qualities each their own.

I loved Taeg’s cockiness at the beginning of the story and how baffled he was by Maya’s seemingly un-interest. He really stepped up in this novel showing courage and honor, sacrificing the most important things to him for love. I enjoyed watching him grow throughout the story along with Maya. There was also a lot a humor sprinkled in throughout the dialogue that was entertaining, and I crack up at the shirts these guys wear as well!

Super hot love scenes, some mystery & suspense, action, definite tension all around and sexy half demons and kick ass heroines; a must read for any paranormal romance fan! I cannot wait for the next book in this series coming in December and featuring Ronin!

Review posted at Ja čitam, a ti?

I can feel Glass giving me "the look" because of the cover. Yeah, I know babe it's really catchy. In my defense I first saw the old covers with less muscles on them. Still the most important thing is the story, right? Anjana asked me to join this tour and I accepted but I was afraid that it'd be typical paranormal story and too adult. Luckily for me it was neither.

Talking about paranormal - I haven't read many paranormal books lately and those that I did were parts of the series I loved. Stories became too typical and cliche. But that's not the case here. Here're all (or most of them) halves here. Meaning you get half demon and half fae in one person. HOW COOL IS THAT? It was really cool for me. You can see that I haven't read the first book - yeah I tend to skip the beginning of everything and jump right when all hell breaks loose. As far as I know every book in this series will follow one of the brothers. Taeg's story is told here.

Even though the brothers saved the world in first installment some things were still left undone. Taeg blames himself for some things that have happened in the past and now he is trying to find a way to fix them. He couldn't even dream that he would find a solution to his problems in a library. There he meets Maya. In the world where demons are everywhere she is only human who can see them. She can see through their glamour. She has a long history with demons and she is seeking for revenged. In the process she became a really kick-but demon slayer. You can tell that the two of them won't get well together but hey they might as well be match made in heaven cause soon enough they'd need each other to complete their missions.

I can't say that this book was perfect. You might say that the world-building wasn't the best, but once again I haven't read the first book and took me some time to connect all the dots. But at the same time there was some beauty in it. I was surprised even more with every discovery. This story exceeded my expectations and I was really able to enjoy the story.

This second installment of the Demons of Infernum series picks up a few months after Blood of the Demon left off. Byrnn and Keegan are happily married and expecting a baby. But everyone is on pins and needles, waiting for Leviathos to come after the Book of the Dead. Taeg has an idea to stop the threat. If he can get his hands on Excalibur, they can destroy the book and eliminate the danger to Brynn.

During his research, he stumbles across Maya. She can see through glamours, which means she knows him for the demon he is. Maya hates demons... since a pair of them murdered her parents when she was a child. Taeg ends up kidnapping her, hoping that once he explains his cause, she'll see reason. And slowly, she begins to realize that all demons are not evil. In fact, one in particular is downright sexy.

I liked the book overall. Just like with the last installment, the brothers are really the heart of the series. They are interesting; they're sexy; and they have a lot of heart. The world-building is solid and easy to understand. And the sexual tension (not to mention the actual sex) between Maya and Taeg is hot, hot, hot.

But I do have some complaints. One: it sure is easy for a girl to have an orgasm. At one point, Maya gets off when Taeg turns into a breeze. Yes, she got off on the wind. (Lucky girl.) And don't even get me started when they did the backdoor tango with no warm-up or lube of any kind. Um... ouch.

My other issue: predictability. I could see where things were going a mile away. I had the same complaint with the last book. I don't like it when I can figure out how everything will play out 1/3 of the way through the story. No matter how fun the ride is, I need some surprises. There weren't many of those to be had.

Those issues notwithstanding, I have no doubt I'll read book 3. The series is sexy and fun --and it has a lot of potential. I hope Ronin's story comes next. Almost 4 stars.

This review is from: Mark of the Sylph (Demons of Infernum) (Kindle Edition)
When an old rival threatens Taeg's family, he's determined to save the day. He must find the sword and destroy the book that can create an army of dead. In doing so he frees his pregnant sister-in-law from its hold. Easy? Maybe it would be--if the sword wasn't glamoured, and the book wasn't spellbound to his sister-in-law.

Maya Flores, librarian by day and demon hunter by night, is immune to magic and is aware of supernatural beings. Taeg sees Maya as his best hope in finding the sword, but Maya has her own agenda. A brutal demon attack wiped out her family and she plans on ridding the world of all demons and that includes Teag.

Oh, I just love this demon/fae brother that gives up all to save his family. Taeg is my favorite. He's charming if not a little impulsive, but he's gorgeous, has an inflated sense of responsibility and he makes me chuckle. This character is wicked fun! Only he could accidently kidnap a woman with hopes of convincing her to help him, but then the man does possess skills. Seducing a woman should be easy for him, but Maya is no push over and she's not about to go all gaga. She'd rather kick Taeg's butt than make love to him, but their battles become foreplay until they finally tumble into bed for the real fun. However, attraction and lust are nothing compared to these two falling head over heels for each other and neither one goes willingly, but fall they do- hard and fast. This action packed tale of honor and sacrifice is a sure winner.

As in all the books in the Demons of Infernum, the brothers stick together. They aren't just brothers, they're friends. I love their relationship with each other, their banter, and their sense of honor. I recommend all the books and look forward to reading about Dagan's story. Don't miss: Blood of the Demon (Demons of Infernum #1)Touch of the Angel (Demons of Infernum, #3)

Remember your local librarian? Quiet, unassuming, business-like, that pretty much describes Maya Flores, part-time librarian and college student. Ever wonder what your local librarian did after work? If she’s Maya, she is a woman on a mission of revenge against ALL demons for the deaths of her family. Maya is a kickass demon slayer, who just happens to be immune to their glamour and magic. No wonder she is cold towards hot and handsome, totally sexy, half-demon, half-fae Taeg, a bounty hunter for the Otherworld Council! When Taeg realizes she knows what he is, he is determined to enlist her special immunity to help him save his pregnant sister-in-law. Of course, trying to ask her almost gets his head lopped off, but gives him the chance to hold her as a captive guest while he tries to convince her all demons are not bad. As far as Mya is concerned, It's. Not. Happening.

Was it his teasingly sarcastic and witty charisma that changed her mind? Was it his love and sense of responsibility for his family’s safety? His guilt? Or, was it the magnetic attraction they felt for each other? No matter, together they fight the good fight, good vs. evil, to try to save the day! Did I mention that when Taeg and Maya are not engaged in witty bantering or verbal fisticuffs , they’re burning up the sheets???

Mark of the Sylph by Rosalie Lario is definitely a fun read, full of action, fast-paced and so well written that I didn’t miss not having read book one in this series, although knowing that Taeg has three equally hot brothers, I probably should…just for the sake of research, of course! !

This story follows on from the last book, and is the story of Taeg. He meets and kdnaps curvy librarian Maya who has the ability to see through glamour. He kidnaps her with the hope of convincing her to help locate a sword which could release Brynn his sister in law from the evil book of the dead.

Things don't go smoothly for the pair. Maya has a past which has lead to an intense hatred for demons ,making it difficult for Taeg to gain her trust, however gradually she learns that not all demons are evil, in fact one particular sexy alpha gets her blood boiling pretty fast.

There is plenty of sexual tension between the pair and the dream scenes which preludes the actual sex are hot.

“I told you, get out of my dreams.”
She’d been dreaming about him already? Well, all fucking right. Taeg gave her a cocky grin. “Come on, baby, it’s your fantasy. You know you want to, so do it.” He spread his arms wide. “Use me.”

It also features humour in the form of Taeg cocky personality and the brothers funny use of slogans on their t shirts

“You don’t seem like the type to care about ancient myths.” Yeah, she told him that every freaking time. Taeg rubbed his chin, scruffy from three days without shaving, and glanced down at his tattered jeans and T-shirt emblazoned with the words Need a Job… Will Work for Orgasms before giving her an innocent look. “What do you mean?”

The love story between the pair is believable and the two strong characters are suited perfectly. It is great seeing Maya overcome her prejudices to finally admit she was wrong and trust Taeg.

Can't wait to read about the other two sexy brothers Ronin and Dagan.

Would recommend, although you should read the first one as this is a follow on

The book/story had me right up to the origin of the sword.
A really entertaining couple set for hotness in the bedroom and puppy eye love. Mix a room full of hybrid half demons, who are incredibly handsome, add some interesting shifters and hey presto what can go wrong.
Well at this point the author decided it would be a great idea to combat the most evil of demon items with a mythical sword that has been in so many books I can't even begin to count them. The storyline went from Urban fantasy to Arthurian Legend and it just didn't gel at all.
I felt the Sylph element and what happens to Taeg could have been delved into more deeply. That sub-plot was left up in the air a little. The implications of his choice in regards to his relationships and how he protects his family for instance.
If you take that aspect out of the book it is story with solid characters and plots that will entice the reader. The characters have the right combination of wit and brawn to reel in the reader. If the author adds more substantial plots and steers clear of the more cheesy elements then I think this could be a strong series.
Other than that one tiny mishap this is a series that holds a lot of potential for further books.

This 2nd book was just as awesome if not more awesome then the first book. I love how so far we are getting a different brother in each book. They are part demons who are not looking for love but they seem to find it..

Taeg and Maya, I think are going to be my favorite couple no matter how many books come out. Even in the first book I really liked him. And I think Rosalie found him a perfect match. Maya is stronger then most humans and she totally can keep Taeg on his toes. She was pretty bad ass and it was fun to see how his ability had no affect on her. I loved watching their relationship grow. Maya being a demon slayer, Taeg being a half demon it was not an easy thing to do. Neither wanted it, but their attraction and affection totally won out. And thank goodness!!

If you are a paranormal romance lover like myself you are going to want to check out this series! There is love, some hot sexy scenes, lots of mystery and well its awesome! I totally recommend it!!

This book pretty much blew my mind and there was so much awesome-sauce to talk about that I don’t think I could even cover it all. I loved the feisty heroine, Maya and her kick-butt attitude. The story gave me just enough closure from Blood of the Demon to really remember why I loved the first book in this series and then pushed me into Taeg's story. It was non-stop action, sex, more fun action, hero love, heroine love, more hot sex, and did I mention freaking awesome action. The chemistry between the H & H is unbelievable and I love that Maya can so kick his... behind.

Lighter Tone of the Series Has Appeal

It was an accident, really. He didn't mean to kidnap the woman! He just wanted to talk to her, convince her to help him. Taeg had no idea the gorgeous Maya Flores would go all Buffy on his ass and try to slice and dice him. Hell, he hadn't even known until just recently that she could see through the glamour that he and his demon brethren use to blend with humanity in this dimension.

But that's also why he needs her so badly. College student and librarian Maya has a very, very special gift. A shockingly rare gift. And she may just be the key to his redemption. Um...well...unless she gets lucky and kills him first. And she's trying really hard.

Maya has known about the existence of demons for a long time, hating them all with righteous fury since the night two of them invaded her family's home. Back then she was just a terrified child hiding in the shadows, hearing every scream, every sick, slickly wet sound as they devoured her parents and sister. But she's not a child any longer. Now she's a vanquish-first, ask-questions-never sort of woman, so when the demon who calls himself Taeg Meyers follows her as she's leaving her job one evening, spouting some sort of nonsense about wanting to talk and needing her help, she goes after him like the evil fiend he is.

Only to end up knocked out and kidnapped, tied to his bed and at his mercy. And when the evil, monstrous demon has her in his clutches, he forces her to...to...well...to rethink her prejudices and feel an unwanted attraction, because Taeg is nothing - nothing - like she'd expected. But trust a demon? Help a demon??

Maya didn't even know if she was capable of doing so, let alone willing. No matter whose future is riding on it.

~*~

I have a particular fondness for a touch of humor in my reading, and in that regard, Lario's second book in the Demons of Infernum series worked well for me. Half-demon Taeg is a hoot, and while his character is perhaps a bit more stereotypical than individual, being the stud muffin, frat boy type with the ladies but a bit of a screw up with an over-inflated sense of responsibility when he compares himself to his überalpha older brother Keegan (Blood of the Demon), he's got a wicked streak that made me chuckle.

Maya was just as enjoyable in a lot of ways. Her willful persistence in labeling all demons as evil monsters who must die got old long before her tune changed, but she was a stronger, more independent female lead than Brynn was in the first book. Her past holds a horror that still haunts her, and one that meshed fairly well with the lighter tone of the book. It added a dimension and honed the darker edges to painful sharpness.

The external plot conflict didn't appeal to me as much as the characters did. Something about a half-demon searching for a mythical sword pushed me a bit outside my ability to willingly sustain disbelief. Maybe it's crazy, but I can accept that Taeg and his demon-hunting bounty hunter brothers are from another dimension and each brother is mixed with a different mythical race, I can accept that full-human Maya has the ability to see through glamour and has managed to off a few demons in her time, I can even accept that the end goal is to destroy the Book of the Dead, a plot thread carried over from the first book, but throw Arthurian legend on top of all that and it muddies the waters too much for me to buy it.

Hey, I never said I was without my idiosyncrasies.

My enjoyment of the humor and characters in this book was slightly offset by those weaker external plot threads that never quite made me feel a growing sense of impending doom or increasing tension prior to conflict resolution. Overall, the story seemed small somehow in comparison to the plot potential inherent in demon bounty hunters from another dimension. I am curious, though, as to where Lario is going to take this series next. If the appeal of the characters becomes the standard and a little more depth and complexity is added to the plots in the future books, this series could really start clicking for me.

In the previous novel "Blood of the Demon". Brynn is the key, she's an heir and related to an Egyptian priest who's lived over three-thousand years ago. Mammon the evil father of Keegan,Teag,Ronin and Dagan is searching for the "Book of the dead" and needs the Heir to fulfill his mission of raising an army of zombies to rule the world. He's a greed demon.Mammon desires wealth and power. He won't rest until every human being is distinct and he'll keep moving onto other worlds until every one them are destroyed. Mammon gets smacked in the face when things don't turn out the way he's planned. Brynn is the key to all the impossible. She has full reign. The Council believed she was no use and to stop mayhem from happening, the brothers were given orders to kill Brynn, and of course Keegan falls for her, so he goes against his brothers and backing out on the Councils orders. It takes some time for his brothers to realize why Keegan chose Brynn over them. Teag wanted to kill Brynn and take the weight of his shoulders. Sacrifices were exchanged, the love and loyalty between everyone in that novel is what you call FAMILY.

So back to this novel " Mark Of The Sylph" Leviathos was Mammon's right hand man and he's out to get revenge to steal the book back and fix what Mammon started.

Taeg goes on a mission looking for Leviathos. Teag was convinced Leviathos would try to come after his sister-in-law Brynn and her unborn child. Taeg feels he has a lot to make up for and believes Bryn deserves to live happily. He goes far and beyond to fight and protect his family, no matter what the cost.

Once again these brothers know their way about kidnapping woman for their advantage. Lolz! Teag comes across a witty woman who shows she can't stand him. He has no clue why till he realizes, Maya may be a normal looking human but, she can see behind the facade of mystical creatures glamour. Right off hand he knows he could use her to her advantage on his quest to find a Sword that is to be used to destroy the "Book Of The Dead" It's said that the Excalibur Sword is hidden with glamour so no when can find it.So what does he do? He kidnaps her.

Well, Maya doesn't make Teag's quest easy. She's a little bad ass that makes a good run for Teag's money. I love her! Maya has a potty mouth of a sailor, doesn't take no for an answer. And she definitely doesn't take shit from no one. She can fight just as good as Teag and his brothers. I think at some point she makes then look bad. Ahahaha... And she's a human! Love it!

Maya despises Demons and all for a good reason. As a child at 10years,a few demons noticed that she can see through their glamour, one night these demons came looking for her and the inevitable happens.Maya's parents and sister were murdered by these demons. They never found her. So as you can see, Maya and Teag did not start off with a good start. She understands now, not all demons go along with the meaning "Evil" .Teag wins his way through Maya's heart and she will stop at nothing to protect what's hers. The feeling is mutual,Teag can no longer bite his tongue, he has no desire of being every womans man, just one woman. Maya.

Well, after all is said and done. There's definitely an HEA. This book was awesome! I loved it way better then the previous book. "Blood Of The Demon"Which wasn't much too my interest. I didn't feel the connection between the H/H and everything was straight forward and to the point. BUT! In all honesty I picked this novel up and it's so much better and different. I can see the major changes in the authors writing. The plot of the story was well put together, and I assure you I felt what was going on in-between the sheets with the H/H it was so darn Hot! I felt the connections with everyone and I sure as heck laughed my tush off numerous times. I would read it all over again.

This is a series I would continue reading, there are two more hot brothers I would love to read on, Ronin and Dagan, who definitely need an HEA :)

Note: I received a review copy of this book on NetGalley

WHAT I LIKED:

Let me start by saying this is book to of the Demons of Infernum series. I didn't realize this was part of the series because I was drawn in my the cover. I mean really, look at that cover. Talk about yummy. The blurb seemed interesting and nowhere did NetGalley say it was part of a series so I just dove right in.

I'll give the author a lot of credit here. Without having read the first book I had no trouble following the plot. There were references to events in the first book that left me itching to go buy that book, but I didn't feel the need to stop reading because I'd gotten lost. In my opinion, the mark of a good series is to be able to pick up any book and be able to follow at least 80% of the plot without having read the previous books.

I thought the ideas were fresh and interesting with the idea that demons aren't hellspawn but rather beings from another dimension. The interactions between the brothers was awesome and I adored each of their personalities as well as the fact they each had distinctly different abilities. As for our hero, Taeg? Holy hell was he hot. I went into this book expecting a damn sexy hero after such a sexy cover and I wasn't disappointed at all. Loved his character, his wit, the right blend of alpha male without being over bearing. This book had plenty of action and the sexual tension was sizzling. I made the mistake of starting this before bed and didn't fall asleep for hours because I couldn't flip the pages fast enough.

By the end I was left dying to go back and read book 1 as well as dying for the next brother in the series.

WHAT I DIDN'T LIKE:

I hate to say it but I didn't like Maya very much at first. She starts the book loathing all demons and there's a damn good reason for that. Demons were responsible for a very traumatic experience and going through that, I'd hate demons too. My issue was how bitchy she was. She keeps trying to kill Taeg, alternating between begging to be let go and subsequently attacking him when he frees her. Sure their relationship started off a bit rocky when he kidnaps her, but it grew tiresome fast. Taeg ties her to the bed so he can try to explain himself without losing his head in the process. Maya calls him all sorts of names. Maya then calms down and promises to hear him out if he'll untie her. Taeg unties her. Maya proceeds to try to kill him. Taeg restrains her for his own protection. Maya gets all offended and pissed off.

I'm not saying she should've immediately trusted Taeg but her behavior really started to grate on my nerves. I'll be honest and say I skimmed parts of the beginning because I really couldn't understand how Taeg was so attracted to her when she was going after him.

Luckily Maya finally comes around, joins forces with Taeg, and becomes far less annoying. She's by no means my favorite heroine ever, but I grew to like her by the end.

OVERALL VERDICT: 4/5 Blue Duckies!

Like I said before, I really didn't like Maya at first. In fact, I wanted to reach through the Kindle and shake some sense into her or at the very least gag her. What saved this book and kept me reading was the interesting premise, fast pace, and Taeg. I loved Taeg. Didn't understand the initial attraction to Maya but hey, nobody's perfect right? Taeg was a damn sexy character with wit and charm and I couldn't wait to find out what happened next with him.

I also loved the fact that I started reading this book without realizing it was the second in a series and I had no trouble following along. I'd recommend reading the series in order just because that way you get a more rich experience and understanding of the characters, but you should do fine if you start on this one.

If you're looking for snappy dialog, action filled paranormal romance, and a very sexy hero, definitely give this one a read!

Mark of the Sylph is the 2'nd book in the ongoing Demons of the Infernum series. I enjoyed every minute of this interesting and suspenseful story.
Series plot : Amidst the unsuspecting human population there are creatures straight out of our wildest fantasies : demons, shifters and vampires. In Lario's intriguing series these creatures aren't monsters that have escaped from hell. Here, they are beings from other dimensions, who have temporarily relocated here on earth. As with humanity, there are good and bad demons, and others who fall somewhere in between. Also like ourselves, there are many different breeds- or ethnicities - of demons. Some are law abiding citizens, while others are criminals and junkies. They have their own ruling council, and bounty hunters to police their laws. Lario's series features four hot bodied bounty hunter demon brothers.
Maya knows that demons walk the earth. She can see through the glamours the monsters hide behind. She hates the demons for taking her family, and she won't hesitate to take them out. Then she meets Taeg, a sexy demon bounty hunter on a personal mission. She lets her disgust show, and Taeg realizes that his disguise doesn't work on Maya. He thinks that she might be the key to finding the ancient relic that he is hoping will save his pregnant sister-in-law. He ends up kidnapping Maya, hoping to persuade her into helping him. Maya is hostile at first, but Taeg is hoping to show the little slayer that not all demons are evil. Maya is soon left questioning every thing she's ever believed about the magical creatures that roam the earth. Taeg and Maya develop strong feelings for each other, and that puts Maya at risk from Taegs greatest enemy.
Taeg and Maya have a lot in common. They have similar pasts that have left them more than a little damaged. They've both got their own issues of guilt, and no small amount of remorse. And they are strongly loyal to their families. Taeg feels like he has let a lot of people down, his brother Keegan, and his one time friend and now mortal enemy who is the bad guy in the story. Maya thinks that is her fault that the demons massacred her family. Their tragic pasts have left them with a lot of guilt, and burdened them with a mission they are willing to betray anyone to complete.
My feelings : I absolutely adored Maya. She was a strong warrior with a lot of integrity. She may have fought her feelings for Taeg at first, but she never tried to hide anything from Taeg. I liked how honest she was, even confessing to Taeg her realization that she was may have wrongly taken the lives of innocent otherworlders. I wasn't so fond of Taeg, and his betrayal of Maya. He lied to her about his intentions to help her locate her families murderers. And he never stopped lying until the villain called him on his lies. Really...he slept with her, and is contemplating a future together. And all that time he was lying. He reasoned that his family came first. I could understand his priorities, but I could see Maya would have as well. However, it did diminish the hero that he misled the heroine without giving her the benefit of a doubt.
I loved this book. I enjoyed the thrilling plot, and the intriguing world that the writer created. I enjoyed the well developed characters that caught and held my interest. I have no problem recommending this book, as well as the series, to other paranormal readers.

"Every worthy hero must make a sacrifice."

You’d think being a rare, magic-sensitive human would be a good thing, but for Maya Flores the ability is only a constant reminder of what she has lost. Seeing through the glamour that disguises the creatures walking in our midst, has made Maya believe that they are a danger to humans and must be eliminated. This leaves her ignorant of their human attributes and contributions to a society that most just want to be a part of. Their inherent danger is all Maya see’s and has trained herself into leading a double-life. By day, she’s a college student and librarian, but by night a fierce warrior emerges out to defend humankind and seek vengeance for the family she lost. On what was to be a night like any demon-hunting other, Maya comes face-to-face with one cocky demon who shakes up everything she’s ever believed in.

For Taeg, it was lust at first sight and he thought he could charm her into feeling the same, but when it became clear she’d rather slice off his head, he knew there was something more to Maya Flores than just curves in all the right places. Regardless, Taeg’s priorities dictate that he must remain focused on the goal and obtain Maya using any means necessary. However, Taeg didn’t expect Maya to tempt and charm him with her sassy attitude and menacing threats. She proves to not only be incredibly gifted, but a fierce warrior with her own inner-demon battle. Choosing not to get involved quickly becomes not an option and Taeg finds his priorities have mixed-up. Sacrifice is something neither can afford, but the temptation is undeniable.

I knew going in to reading this story that I was in for an adventure with Taeg. This demon has some serious depth outside of his playboy image. And while Maya has seen and been through a lot, she still maintains an adorable innocence that I believe works wonderfully in taming the wild man that is Taeg. I think Maya says it best when describing him as…

‘The man was the most infuriating mixture of gentleman and rake.’

Maya feels like a fish out of water as Taeg shows her the Other side of the world she lives in and not only confirms some of her greatest nightmares, but awakens Maya’s innate womanly desires. He breaks down her armor, but in doing so exposes himself. Their verbal and physical assaults are frustrating (because we know what boils beneath), but true to character and leads to some intense and well-written erotic moments between them.

Although some questions still linger for me (details, details), the action, suspense, romance, sex, mystery, and charming characters more than made up for it. I enjoyed Keegan and Brynn's appearances in the story and the tone their relationship has set in the household. Things are still dire, but life continues for these bounty-hunting brother's and their growing family. I'm looking forward to getting to know more about Ronin and Dagan.

Paranormal romance readers should definitely hop on his thrill-ride of a series and meet some of the sexiest Demons of Infernum you will ever meet.

Mark of the Sylph, Demons of the Infernum #2, by Rosalie Lario
Grade: B

“Yeah, Taeg went and got himself his very own prisoner. It’s all the rage in our family, I hear.”

Six months ago Taeg Meyers, along with his three brothers and sister-in-law Brynn, defeated their father and found a book with the power to raise an army of zombies and start the apocalypse. Even after they recovered the book and saved Brynn, Taeg still feels guilt for letting her almost get killed and vows to find a way to destroy the book and help her and her unborn child safe forever. While researching ways to destroy the book, Taeg comes across Maya Flores, a very sexy librarian who wants nothing to do with Taeg.

Maya Flores may be a human but secretly she can see demons and she has made it her life’s mission to destroy all demons like they destroyed her family years ago in Mexico. When Taeg discovers Maya’s ability he is determined to do whatever it takes to get her to help him destroy the book including lying and seducing her. The more time they spend together the more they can’t deny their attraction to each other and each soon finds themselves falling for the other. As Taeg finds himself falling for Maya he must decided between saving his family or saving the woman who could very well be his soulmate.

Mark of the Sylph is a great second book is what is turning into one of my favorite series of this year. The series surrounds four half-brothers who all have very unique powers that they got from their mothers. Taeg’s mother was a fairy and gifted him with the ability to charm people, trace from place to place and manipulate air to his will. Taeg has always had an easy way with people because of his ability to charm anyone he comes across until he meets Maya and boy does she throw him off his game. I love how Maya ties him up in knots and keeps him on his toes at all times. Taeg was such a big part of the first book and it was fun to see him have to finally work for a woman’s affections.

As Taeg and Maya go on their journey together we meet lots of very interesting new characters and more importantly we get to spend more time with Keegan, Dagan and Ronin, Taeg’s half brothers. I know that I talked about how much I love the brothers and their tight relationship with each other in my review of Blood of the Demon but I have to mention it again because it is the main and best part of this series. I find very few books that focus on this type of relationship between the heroes of different series and none were the men are so tight. In many books their are clans or groups of warriors who live and fight together but none as close as these four men. The relationship between them is what makes this series so great and what will keep me reading future books.

The only reason I didn’t give this book an ‘A’ is because there were one or two times when the plot got a little slow and I got very frustrated at one point waiting on Taeg and Maya to finally hop into bed together. This is a great book in a kick ass series and I can’t wait to see what happens next in the crazy world of these demon brothers.

You can also find this review at Under The Covers

Mark of the Sylph starts right where Blood of the Demon left off. While newlyweds Brynn and Keegan await their first child, the threat of a zombie apocalypse still looms over everyone’s head when an old rival sets his sights on the book of destruction. But Keegan’s brother Taeg will do anything to help his family and to see his nephew live. After days of research Taeg finds out that the only thing that can destroy the book that can end the world, is a sword that has not only been hidden for years but is also glamoured. Lucky for him, all those library visits paid off when he discovered Maya, the librarian, who apparently can see through glamours. Only problem is getting her on board. So Taeg does what any other demon in his family does at a time like this, he kidnaps her! What is it with these brothers kidnapping women?! But of course, nothing can be that simple, and soon Taeg finds himself needing Maya in other ways.

Maya: librarian by day and demon slayer by night. After living through a demon attack that killed her family, Maya is determined to kill every single demon she encounters, even if it is the hottie who’s been coming to the library every day. When she finds him tailing her after her shift at the library there’s only one thing on her mind and that’s killing the demon bastard. Unfortunately for Maya, things don’t turn out the way she planned and she ends up being his captive instead. What’s even worse? She’s figuring out that not all demons are bad; especially Taeg who for some reason seems a lot more appealing than any other demon she’s encountered. Soon Maya realizes that she may be the only hope to saving Taeg’s family so she joins the hunt for the sword.

Now let’s bring it on back to Taeg. He’s just so likeable. Not only is he hot and has a bad boy quality about him but he’s funny! Taeg also has a very kind soul, something that comes as a bit of a shocker to Maya since not only is he a demon but he’s a demon bounty hunter as well. It takes Maya a while to get used to the fact that not all demons are the same and it becomes a bigger challenge to fight the mixed emotions that start to develop for the oh so likeable Taeg.

Taeg seems to find Maya very appealing and who could blame him, Maya is hot! She’s a bad ass chick and you all know I love me a bad ass chick! Maya’s not annoying, she’s not clingy and she can kick some major ass! I mean who wouldn’t like a woman who can cut off a demon’s head in heels? Not only that but she has curves! YAY for curves! Maya’s not the normal tall, slim heroine, she’s short and thick! I may seem to have some sort of a girl crush on Maya which makes this couple all the more doable in my book!

I can’t wait to get to the next book in this series so I can see what these hot demon brothers have in store for the future.

3/5 Hotness

Wow! The Demon's of Infernum series has seriously picked up! Mark of the Sylph is a fabulous addition to Rosalie Lario's series. In fact MotS totally pulled this series out of the shadows and into the bright lights of stardom!

Mark of the Sylph takes place six months after the first book in the series, Blood of the demon. This book is about Taeg, the half demon half air sylph (air sylph = faerie) and Maya the magic-sensitive human who also happened to be a demon slayer in her spare time. Taeg thought that he could use Maya's gift to right a wrong that he had done to his sister in law, Brynn, in Blood of the Demon. Actually, he really didn't do anything but he thought he had failed her so he was determined to fix the issue no matter what. Even if it meant kidnapping Maya and forcing her to help.

Maya was sorta immune to magic. Well, it's more like she's sensitive to it. She could see through the different glamors that demons' surrounded themselves with to make themselves appear human. Due to a horrible incident in her past she thought that all demons were hell spawn and she did whatever she could to return them to their maker. I tend to think of her a Buffy wannabe. Not that she wasn't bad ass or anything. But she was just a well trained human not the 'chosen one'. She was a kick ass heroine though. Maya is everything that you would want in a leading lady.

The big bad in MotS is Leviathos - who just happened to be Mammon's right hand man in Blood of the Demon, book #1 in the series. I remember him as a sniveling brown noser. In this book, he's still an ass, but I understand him a little bit better. The sentiment behind his actions is just. I would have had it out for Taeg too if I were him. No, I wouldn't have gone to the extremes that he did, but yeah, his feelings are understood.

So now onto Taeg...

OMFG!!!!! What a heartthrob! And I'm not only talking about his looks people. He's got this unbelievable cocky and sarcastic humor about him. I don't know why I found him so adorable. I'm the kind of person who's usually turned off by someone like him. But then he did something that was so giving, that even his worse critic would say he's the greatest.

I'm really diggin' these books. Rosalie Lario's Demon's of Infernum series is something that should be put on your TBR list!

I didn’t read the first book of this series, but I didn’t need to. This book was able to explain everything in a way that didn’t really seem redundant to those who had read the first, but was enough for those of us who didn’t read the first book to know what was going on. There were a few things that I was confused on, but by the end of the book everything was explained.
This world was incredibly original, and I absolutely loved all the concepts that the author incorporated into the world. The fact that “demons” don’t come from hell but from other worlds was something that I really liked, since I’ve never really cared for the hell concept. I loved everything about the world—or rather, worlds—that the author created.
I really liked all of the characters in this book (except for the bad guys, of course). I especially liked Taeg and Maya. Their relationship started out with Maya trying to kill Taeg and got better from there. Maya’s internal conflicts were extremely believable, especially with the way Taeg kept following her around. Taeg was also a very real character, whose devoted loyalty to his family is something to be admired and respected.
The action was great and I loved all the obstacles that Taeg and Maya had to go through so that they could be together—both internal and external.
The romance in the book left a little to be desired, since the family problems tended to take precedence. But that didn’t stop Maya and Taeg from falling for each other. The romance between them was obvious to the rest of the characters but Taeg and Maya were clueless. When they finally realized that they had fallen for each other, their love was put to the test in a very interesting and unique way.
The demons that killed Maya’s family weren’t really expanded on—they were sort of glossed over. I would have liked to know more about them and what happened to them. I’m hoping that will be in the next book so I’m not left hanging!
I really would have liked to know Taeg’s brothers more in this book, but since I didn’t read the first book I can assume there were more things in there. There will also be books for each of the characters, which is great because I can’t wait to hear more about them. I am definitely looking forward to the rest of the series and I will be reading the first book to get more glimpses inside the life of these interesting and sexy men.

Rosalie Lario is an absolute genius!!! She manages to carry off a great paranormal romance with scorching sex scenes while adding comedy, suspense, and mystery. She is my new favorite author. I didn't read the first book in the series, but I will definitely get it as soon as I finish writing this review. I love that even though this book is the second in the series with a third on the way--see I've already researched and found it--I didn't have any problems finding my place or being inundated with information from the first book. It's a fast read with plenty to keep you smiling and reaching to make sure your better half is close by.

Taeg is the most sexy and delicious combination of fae and demon on Earth--literally. He's all man and intent on helping his brother keep his sister-in-law and their unborn child safe. While doing research in the library he stumbles upon a grumpy library worker that apparently sees past his ""glamour"" that disguises the fact that he is not human. Maya has lived through the loss of her family due to her unique ability to see demons. She has an intense hatred for them and the skills to kill them. Too bad Taeg decides he must have Maya to help him with his quest. The plot of the story was in no way overshadowed by the personalities of the characters. It was totally believable and I kept forgetting that these otherworldly beings don't exist. I was totally pulled into the story where I happily remained despite numerous other demands for my time. I had to make sure that Maya and Taeg accomplished their goal.

Taeg and Maya are funny, warm, and lovable characters. They are both very spirited individuals. I loved how Maya would fight Taeg and he would shake it off and ask for more. While he was getting his butt kicked he fell for her in the hardest way and while she was hard at work fighting him with her body she left her heart unguarded and he slipped right in. Maya gives Taeg as good as she gets. She's fearless when it comes to standing by her man and protecting him. Forget about the usual silly heroine running from danger in tears and get this book to read about a heroine that pulls daggers and swords from her body and her boots to cut heads from demons like she's slicing bread.

This is a great new series and I wish I had read the first one.

Imagine my surprise when I started reading this book and found out it was about a half-demon named Taeg. To find out that he had fairy blood in him to. I never thought I would read about a combination like this. I also met other half-demons that had other parts that I never thought I would read about. Such a sexy demon and I wish I could really meet him.

Maya Flores is a librarian. What everyone else doesn’t know is that she can also see what others really are. She can’t be glamored and magic doesn’t work with her. She is on a mission to rid the world of every single demon that she can. She is a really kick butt woman. One I would love to be.

To say that I really got into this book is an understatement. The author did a wonderful job bringing this story to life. It was a very thrilling read and was full of excitement. I loved how Maya wasn’t a woman that would back down from anything. I love when a woman in the leading role can stick up for herself and doesn’t let a man make all her choices.

I can’t wait to read the rest of this series. I know I will have to go and read the first one. I won’t mind that since I had such a great time reading this one. This is the first time that I have read a book by this author. This is why I love what I do. I am always finding more and more new authors to read about. It’s great getting a change every once in awhile.

This was pretty action packed. I love reading about men that will do anything for his family and doesn’t back down even when he knows that he might lose what he holds dear. These two were really well matched. I just want to thank the author for doing such a wonderful job writing the book and the characters really kicked butt.

If you love paranormal books and want to change it up a little bit then this is the book for you.

(4.5 Stars!)
If you read my review on the 4th book earlier you know I gushed about these covers, love them! They set the mood for the book perfectly, it's bit dark and has the romance without the buff guy shot ( not that I don't love those as well! ;D ). I really do enjoy Lario's writing, its right up there with the best of them. It's fun, witty, hot and had the right amount of darkness, sadness and tension. And I love a book with tension to keep the chemistry just right! Mark Of The Sylph was great tale of romance, demons, tension and inevitable danger to bring the couple together and sealing the deal.

Maya and Taeg made the best couple, with the fighting and the banter and the scorching hot sex! I loved their chemistry ( and the kidnapping and the tied to the bed bit! ;) ), Taeg felt instant attraction, Maya felt instant hate, and watching much strong Taeg toy with Maya who could hold her own was the best form of couple foreplay! Also this is the first I got to know of the half-demon brothers and boy do they have things going for them, I love guys who act arrogant and snarky and yet completely fall for the girl and give her the whole world and the soft heart they had secretly nurtured the whole time just for her. Can't wait to read more of these books!

The only reason why I didn't give this book the full five stars was because while it was amazing it was slightly slow at parts that made me want to skip a little to get to where Maya and Taeg were the main focus, I could have lived without the enemy's chapters.

You'll love this if... you like your heroines strong in give a run for your money kind of way, and your heroes tough, strong in the will kick your ass six ways till Sunday kind of way - and love seeing them battle out while falling in love, when that's the last thing they should be doing
