Owning the Stone-Chance Protection Agency has its perks. It's a profitable company that allows Ramsey and Keilah Stone to enjoy the finer things in life; however, it has also added an element of danger to their otherwise normal lifestyle. At home, Ramsey is a warm and caring father and husband, but on the job, he finds it necessary to maintain his tough persona as an ex-military officer. When an unexpected tragedy darkens his doorstep, he finds himself in a cat-and-mouse game with a dangerous assailant. I am seeing way too many positive reviews and not enough honest reviews. #1 Keilah was pronounced as Kayla. That annoyed the ever loving shit out of me. #2 Michael should’ve apologized to Kevin. He should’ve gave Kevin a real apology. He went through hell and high water to make amends to Keilah but had the nerve to blame Kevin. Kept saying to Kevin that their relationship was a mistake. But in the first book he says they were on and off for three years. He purposely was going to marry that girl get her pregnant and take the baby and then go have a life with Kevin. Kevin comes to check on him to see if he’s good and he doesn’t just dismiss him. he threatens him. he truly broke that man’s heart and then went onto later break his neck and killed him. Michael killed his ex lover for absolutely no reason. “Kayla‘s” child gets kidnapped and that was a whole whirlwind in itself because you honestly had no idea who did it. But Michael sees it on the news and just automatically suspects his ex. I think if anything that was guilt because you promised forever and a family with this man and you think he went above and beyond to get it when reality no. A very troubled woman said for $1000 you can have my child so he did that. Kevin bought a hookers child. Michael confronts Kevin at his house but he’s about to pack up and leave with that child and go start a new life. Kevin just illegally bought a child so he does not want Michael asking questions or getting suspicious. A fight ensues Michael puts Kevin in a chokehold and says “lord forgive me” and snaps his neck killing him instantly. Before he does it he says “you’ve become a danger to society.” For three years you told this man yeah we’re gonna have a family. You concocted this crazy to marry a woman, impregnate her, divorce her and then take the child. You threw Kevin into shark infested water and just told him to swim out he’ll be OK. And after Ramsey and Keynote show up and see the dead body on the ground they just cover it up. They tell Michael he did the right thing. Initially Michael is guilt ridden but then when he finds out the baby belonged to a prostitute and the prostitute was then murdered by her pimp he says “can I adopt a child.” What the fuck??? All in all Kevin did absolutely nothing wrong. OK he bought a child. Bought a child from a prostitute who was as later murdered by her pimp. In real life situation that would be way worse. Because if the baby had still been with her the pimp would’ve killed the baby too or he would’ve sold the baby to a child molester. So again Kevin did absolutely nothing wrong. I enjoyed the first book very much. The first book ended on a really good cliffhanger which is why I read this one. And I liked how it was first going with Michael. I could tell he only wanted to make amends to Keilah. But he owed Kevin amendment as well. We get it he was abused and that does mess with people psyche. That does confuse people with their sexuality. I’ve read plenty of books on abuse victims and it does leave people confused. With that being said he should’ve gave Kevin a real apology. If he was really suspicious he should’ve just called the cops but initially when he went to Kevin‘s house he said if he’s wrong he doesn’t want to get the police involved for no reason. Up until this point I was enjoying the book. Up until this point I was hoping that Michael was going to give Kevin the apology he deserved and we were never going to hear about Kevin or Michael again. So not only was Kevin‘s death unnecessary bringing them back into the story was just confusing and extra for no reason. Miss Lee you did great with the first book. You did great with the first half of this book. When Michael refused to give any type of amendments or apologies to Kevin that’s when you lost me. And then killing Kevin in general and then everybody kept praising Michael for killing this man for no reason. Killing a man that was in love with him. Then him taking the child that Kevin initially saved if we’re being honest. That was fucked up. And then the whole kidnapping story just got really confusing. Because at that point you forgot about Trent. I mean I knew Kevin didn’t have anything to do with it because it made no sense. if Kevin‘s gonna be harassing anybody who’s gonna be harassing Michael‘s new girlfriend not his old one. So Trent being the kidnapper was not a surprise. They just prolonged that way too much. If anything Darren Lee was on a time crunch or she just saw this as a cash grab. I’m glad this was part of my Audible+ and I didn’t pay for it. Because the last three hours were very upsetting and unpleasant to listen to it because I just wanted to see how it ended. She could’ve done things a whole lot better.

I unintentionally read this book out of order, but I was still able to follow everything to know why the events that took place, happened. There were a lot of twists and turns and everybody was a suspect. I enjoyed it a lot and got to like the characters, so I will be reading the first installment next.
Ramsey and Keilah Stone are a power couple running a successful protection agency in Precious Stones by Darrien Lee. Being business owners is not what it’s cracked up to be because the Stones have to deal with danger every day. Ramsey prides himself on being a good husband and father. Ramsey will do anything to protect his family. When an unsuspected tragedy occurs, Ramsey finds himself on a rollercoaster ride of emotions.
Keilah believes in protecting her family and her clients so her field experience as an expert shooter is no surprise. Since becoming a mother, Keilah is ready to settle down and retire. When a blast from her past returns all hell breaks loose and Keilah might have to put retiring on the back burner.
Precious Stones is about protecting the ones you love. The main characters strength and faith are put to the test in this suspenseful book. The twists and turns are unsuspected and entertaining. Readers will be anticipating the characters next moves. I recommend Precious Stones to others.
I just finished reading this book and it was a great read. It was amazing how Ramsey and Keilah were able to go through all the things they went through and still make it through happy. They never lost their faith in God. I loved this book!

This Book Gives Me Straight Fatal Attraction Vibes. Just When I Thought I Knew Who Was Behind Everything. I Was Far From Knowing. I Had Forgot They Had Even Mentioned The Person Who It Was Through The Book. I Read This One, Because I Was Already Invested In The Characters From The Previous Book.(The Last Chance) When Your Past Comes Back To Hunt You, & Won’t Leave You Be. Got To Do What You Have To Do To Protect What’s Important. I Really Enjoyed It
4.5 stars. This book was nearly perfect. This was a great story with lots of different characters. It took a while for the story to get going but damnit once it did, it took off. I didn't give it 5 stars bc the narration made it confusing at times. One narrator for slew of characters.
The twists and turns had me on edge. This was a surprisingly good read.
Precious Stones picks up a year after Last Chance. We meet back up with Ramsey and Keilah and the Chance brothers. In the sequel, Ramsey and Keilah are settling in to married life and running their Protection agency. They are doing a great job maintaining an active work and family life. Of course there is always drama to follow to come in and test the bond of love and strength.
This was a good book and it was great to catch up with Ramsey and Keilah and the Chance brothers. We were introduced to Ramsey's family and the drama of old flames from both Ramsey and Keilah's past. Ramsey and Keilah's love held strong and it was good to read work from Darrien Lee.
I throughly enjoyed part 2 of the series. It contained mystery and romance that I found to be a great book. You are able to keep pace with the characters and story line. The plot was interesting and keep you reading to find out what happened. This book is a great distraction from the usual urban literature.
This book was a great follow up to The Last Chance. The story kept me in suspense all the way to the last page.Ijust loved the relationship that Keilah and Ramsey has, they are so perfect for each other....true love!! Must Read!
Not too shabby but there were parts of the plot that annoyed me quite a lot. Then again, I'm not much for detective-crime-scene kinda of reader. But I will say that the sex scenes were pretty descriptive and very imaginative! At least that one caught my attention :P
