This life-changing how-to guide demystifies self-hypnosis and subliminal technology to demonstrate how they are effective tools for your self-improvement journey
Everybody has some character trait he or she would like to change, and there are many techniques available to facilitate these changes. Unfortunately, many of them are either impractical or expensive—or both!
Most people are somewhat familiar with hypnosis and subliminal technology but are reluctant to use them as serious self-help tools. In large part this is due to the fact that they’ve been mired in mystique, urban legend, and disinformation. The truth is that both self-hypnosis and subliminal communication are backed by extensive research that demonstrates their efficacy. More important, once learned, they can be customized for any situation and used almost anytime and anywhere.
Join Eldon Taylor on your own self-improvement exploration using the tools in this book and on the accompanying audio download. Experience hypnosis and subliminal patterning for yourself!

This book is a very practical introduction into self-hypnosis and subliminal messages and how to use these techniques to your own advantage. I was a bit surprised how openly the author discusses these topics and how strongly he puts the focus on sharing knowledge with the readers. He has his own company (InnerTalk) that sells hypnosis products and I am not sure how much it will hurt the sales.
The parts that show how to apply self-hypnosis and how to create helpful subliminal messages are rather short but complete. The book contains the whole scripts and also comes with a CD that lets you experience the steps right away. I am convinced that if you follow the steps you will have success very quickly. In addition you will understand how hypnosis programs work in general so you can "borrow" for instance their deepening method.
The rest of the book lightly covers some scientific ground including research results. I already knew most of the stuff so it was only a repetition. What I didn't know was how widely subliminal messages are used in advertisements (for products or campaigns) and what's going on behind the curtain. One can see that the author wanted to tell his story and his insights are enlightening. I am not convinced that it had to be done in this book though, at least not on so many pages, and I got the feeling that it was partly used as filler material.
There is one more negative point: the voice on the CD. This is a very personal thing and as the book contains everything you need to create your own recordings it doesn't bother me much.
Conclusion: Recommended as a practical workbook and easy to understand introduction
I approached this book with moderate expectations and I have to say it delivered. Not in a life-changing way like this kind of books tend to suggest but rather in a slight life-improving way.
The book goes straight to the subject and describes the practices in a brief and clear way. But some parts look like enumerations of conclusions and although I think this was the purpose, I would have preferred to read also about the mechanisms that lead to those conclusions.
I think it's useful for entering hypnosis, self-suggestion and positive thinking but I generally prefer going deeper, ever deeper...
Bottom line, I think it's worth taking the time to interiorize the described practices.
This book is a great starting place to learn about hypnosis. There is material here that can get you off to a good start; just enough to start practicing regularly. There is an underlying tendency to promote other materials by the author. I would have liked some information that guides me on steps to take if I feel like I am “off track” on putting these things into practice. The question of whether I would be better served with some training comes to mind as I do the exercises. The answer probably lies in taking more time to practice and how quickly I want to see results. Poor practice or wrong practice can slow me down even more!
A jumble of misrepresented science, pseudoscience, ideas laundered from new thought, and self-promotional bullshit. Hypnosis is a legitimately interesting topic and it's a shame that books on it are so often written by sloppy thinkers like this guy.
I wasn't able to use the CD to relax because I didn't like the guys voice. Didn't care for the book either. Too much philosophizing and not enough substance. I skipped ahead to chapter 4 before I found any solid activities. I get the impression if I met the author in person he'd like to talk for talking sake.
