** Every immortal here turned to stare at me. Aro’s expression was a mixture of surprise and concern. It was now certain that I would die on this island too. If Jacob had found a way to phase again, maybe I could too. I pushed my feelings to one side and let the anger and heat rush through me, focusing it down my spine. Come on, Leah. You can do it, I told myself. I had to find the wolf again, and quickly. Jacob needed me, more than ever, and I would not let him down. Just as my body started to rip into its new form, Aro returned his attention to Demetri who was still holding Jacob. “Now, Demetri,” he commanded. “Kill him now.”
An amazing sequel to First Light by Jean Rush. This fan fiction writer has an amazing talent with words. If you have enjoyed her first book, you will definitely fall in love with her second book. I wish to read more works from her one day.
I really loved this book, I read it about two years ago, Right after finishing the original twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. When I read this book I honestly forgot that it’s written by Jean rush and not Stephanie Meyer because the author of this book really wrote exactly like Stephanie Meyer in my opinion. I was such a good book and I recommend reading it if you like the twilight books

I wanted to like this book, I really did, but this second "fan-fiction" installment seemed just that...fan-fiction.
It was as though it was two separate books with far too much information randomly thrown in. Leah's story at the beginning is slow with no real idea where it's going. Then you suddenly switch back to Renesme's story which picks up about 50 years before the end of Rush's first fan-fiction book.
Rush really captivated Meyer's original voice in First Light. But that voice was totally lost in Rising Sun.
It's a free book, so no love lost. Just wish my expectations would have been met as they were with the first installment.
Even better than the first one! It was so fun to see how Leah's story intertwined with Nessie's, ado to see the Cullen family even farther in the future. If there were more books by Jean, I would read them too. Her writing style definitely improved from First Light to this.
