If you like a heroine with a backbone and snark well, look no further! Lacy Logan is new to the paranormal investigation business and she finds herself smack dab in the middle of something she could have never anticipated. This story has something for everyone, from the dark and intense to the light and hilarious, Lacy had me shaking my head laughing one minute and biting my nails the next. Daywalker is fast paced and exciting, the writing is amazing and you’ll be sucked right in. Definitely check this book out, you won’t be disappointed.

Today's review is on Daywalker: The Beginning-Nightwalkers, #1 by J. C. Stone

Daywalker is a fantastic read that captures the reader instantly, and takes them on a wild and crazy ride along with its main character Lacy Logan.

At just 21-years-old, Lacy is excited to be opening her own business as a Paranormal Investigator. Her career is cut short however when a hotter-than-hell, gorgeous man appears in her office, and literally sucks the life out of her and vanishes.

She doesn't know it, but she is a Daywalker. And Nightwalkers, like the one that attacked her, seek out supernaturals like her to take their power so that they can walk in the sun.

Everything about Daywalker is perfect except..........it's just to short!! At just 38ish pages, I feel a little jilted. I would love to see this as a full-length book. *hint, hint*

I really loved reading this book. It was a quick read and it captured my attention right from the start!
I loved the writer's sense of humor and the plot always kept me entertained! It was definitely not what I had expected (in a good way ;-) ). I also really loved Lacy's kick-ass character and how easy it was to relate to her. Can't wait to read more in the future :-)!

The following review is my opinion and not a paid review. I got this book as a free download from Amazon.

Lacy Logan is sitting in her new office willing the phone to ring. She has just opened her own Paranormal investigations business. This man appears and then just disappears right before her eyes. This mysterious man has taken something from her and she knows it and wants it back. So what does Lacy do? She hunts him down, after all she is an investigator.

Lacy is one tough chic. She doesn't just sit around and take what ever is dealt her. She will ascess her situation and figure out what her next move will be. She is not going down without fighting back. She pays attention to what she is being told and uses it to her advantage. I would love to have known more about Lacy and her being a Daywalker. If only Daywalker had been longer. We need more Daywalkers!!!

This short story quickly takes us into a world filled with supernatural suspense and terror and in the end...leaves us wanting more. Daywalker takes an original idea and melds with a compelling and complex character to take Dark Fantasy to a new level. I am intrigued by this character and I hope I have a chance to read more of her and her discoveries about who and what she is.

The heroine is attacked one evening at her office by a vampire and all she wanted was to be a P.I.It was very slow and didn't hold my interest. She spends her whole time looking for the vampire creature that bit her.Well you can find out for yourself if she gets her vampire.

Though I didn't care for the main character, I love everything else about this quick little read. I love the battle between dark and light. I look forward to learning about other daywalkers, and definitely more about nightwalkers.

This dark fantasy novella was a quick read but I loved the story from beginning to end. J.C. Has a wicked sense of humor and an even more wicked imagination. Lacy is a kick butt, strong female character who has to confront a creature of nightmare proportions.

Lacey is just 21 years old and opens her own paranormal detective office. An amazing guy walks in and then sucks the life out of her. Funny, serious, all in one great book by a fantastic author.

The beginning was too short.

I enjoy the authors work. I love the Blood Curse series very much. Hope this series will be as good.

Impressed that she had established her own supernatural detective agency, her first visitor was nothing as she would have imagined.
There again, what she learns about herself isn't something any person would have imagined.
Intriguing first book of the series.

What? That's all?

A very short, and I do mean short, novella originally written by Tessa under her pen name J C Stone. Great story line with so much potential. Loved Lacy's positive attitude. Lacy Logan strikes out on her own, opening a paranormal investigation setvice. Her first day on the job is unfortunately her last. From the moment she looked up and saw the man in black, life as she knew it was over. Lacy with her new sidekick Skippy set out to find the man in black. Hopefully she can get her life back and if not, maybe the answer to the question, Why?

I am a huge fan. This story is good, it just took some time to get into it and then it was over. This being a YA book, is where I got lost. I'm used to so much more description and detail that I thought I was missing something. When it was really getting good the story was done. I did not know it was a YA book and that is where i got lost. I really like to know more about the characters as they were interesting, I just didn't get enough information to fall in love with them.Ill look for more on this story in the days ahead.

Loved this story. Had my attention right from the start. And a Daywalker is something new for me in the paranormal genre. I do hope there will be more to come. Lacy has a great sense of humor and Tessa is so descriptive in her writing that you can feel Lacy's pain and fear one minute and then will be laughing at something she said the next. Looking forward to more!

I just read and enjoyed this book. Tessa's imaginative writing never fails to capture my interest and hold it. I wish the story would have given more information on both sides as to history and purpose and had been longer. I look forward to reading more.

Riveting Short Story

Tessa Dawn is writer extraordinaire. Her characters rouse emotions inside you where others don't. I read many paranormal series but I have to say The Blood Curse Series is a favorite. This story is brief but packed with a great tale. A must read.

A little Tessa Dawn for younger readers

I would have let my kids read this in middle school. More of a ghost story than anything else. Brief mention of unbuttoning shirt and a kiss used as a trick to kill a demon thing. Not explicit at all.
