A stunning photography collection from world-renowned fashion photographer Tim Walker, Story Teller showcases his signature fantastic style with some of the biggest names in fashion and contemporary culture. Walker is one of the most exciting photographers of our time, and his flamboyant style—often tongue-in-cheek but always exquisitely executed—places him in the line of brilliant eccentrics from Cecil Beaton to David LaChapelle. Showcasing 170 photographs through Walker’s most recent work, the book features many A-listers in fashion and Hollywood, including Tilda Swinton, Helena Bonham Carter, and Alber Elbaz. The book includes a foreword by Kate Bush, an introduction by writer Robin Muir, and an afterword by Tim Walker.

Tim Walker is one of my favourite photographers of all time. His ability to simply capture surrealist and whimsical photos are just brilliant. As the title says, story teller, each photograph conveys a story even though it can feel dream-like (in a good way). If you don't know his work, I urge you to give a search online and have a look at his work. Just so inspiring to myself, I aim to capture surreal photographs similar to his work but of course my own style and aesthetic. I highly recommend this book.
Beautiful large-format photobook that's worth actually looking at, not just decorating a coffee table with. The photographs often push Tim Walker's usually dreamy, whimsical images into creepy/unsettling territory, there's more of an edge here than in his usual fashion photography or commercial work and imo this is a must for a fan.
Tim Walker is a fashion photographer in the loose sense that there are people wearing expensive clothing in many of his photos. However, the clothing themselves are probably the last thing your eye will fix on. Walker uses enormous props, decaying mansions and the bizarre, disproportionate bodies of models to shoot images from storybook daydream to claustrophobic nightmare. His work is often highly reminiscent of Gregory Crewdson's unsettling twilight photos and painter Julie Heffernan's deeply and richly detailed and allegorical paintings. Massively fascinating and truly unique.
My God, Tim Walker is a pure genius for the ages. His work is so creative and beautiful. It's hard to believe so much wonder can translate onto a photograph. This portfolio of work is absolutely stunning and allows you to see a different side of fashion photography where photoshop plays no role. I can't do this book justice with words and I hope everyone takes a moment to appreciate Walker's imagination.
Tim Walkers Story Teller, is hand’s down one of the most creatively executed collection of images, that I’ve had the pleasure of encountering in the past few years. The book itself, is robust and lush. This is the kind of book, that will shut down any argument surrounding why one should purchase an e-reader.
One of the best photographers out there and this book shows how truly talented he is. His imagination and ability to shoot at the right time is flawless.
