New Beliefs, New Brain offers the reader a chance to follow a simple yet elegnant method to reduce stress and fear in ones everyday life. Lisa Wimberger has proven herself an author by taking difficult material and synthesizing it into a compact, practical and daily practice which facilitates the health of the Body, Mind and Spirit. As a physician for 30+ years I cannot recommend this material more highly. The book outlines how we react to our environment neurologically and gives us a daily practice which will ultimately lead to improved physical health, balanced mental health and most importantly a platform for continued spiritual growth. This is not the usual self-help material nor information gathered from obscure sources. The material and practice outlined in New Beliefs, New Brain is easy to read, and not only allows the reader an up to date review of the neurochemistry of the brain but most importantly allows the reader to take charge of their own day to day health. One of the most important books for any Medical practitioner who strives to teach their patients personal responsibility for thier OWN HEALTH. The material is interesting. The practice is simple to follow. The results in my practice and for my own personal health have been remarkable. Difficult material made easy to understand. Years of spiritual practices made simple to follow. Anyone who follows this beautifully composed system towards overall health is promised REDUCTION from STRESS and FEAR in their daily lives. My highest recommendation as both a Physician and as a practitioner of Neurosculpting.

There are so many "self-help" books on the shelves these days, but this one really is different. Wimberger blends the most recent findings in neuroscience and applies them to the tools and exercises she clearly outlines in the book, mixing in real-world examples that explain why these practices really do work. This approach appeals to both logical skeptics and creative freethinkers, laying the foundation for a lifetime of stress relief and peace. Most of us know by now that changing our thought patterns can lead to huge shifts in behavior and, ultimately, in the path your life takes -- but HOW to change those thought patterns is never fully discussed. This book will tell you, step by step, how to move from a place of internal doubt toward a place of infinite possibility. If any book is a must-read for the people in your life who are unhappy with some aspect of their existence and want to change, this is it. When you share this book with others, you are giving them the gift of change -- and peace of mind. I don't use phrases like "life-changing" lightly, but if any book on the shelves these days has the potential to completely shift your way of thinking -- and, therefore, your entire life -- this is it. With humor, science and real-life examples that prove YOU have the power to heal your trauma and create your destiny, this is one of the only books I believe everyone should read. It's a small investment for a lifetime of change!

New Beliefs New Brain is a wonderful meditation manual and guide. It explains in simple terms the reasons we humans seem to accumulate and hold onto stress and tension in the body in a scientific, physiological manner, instead of in some sort of metaphysical manner. This is not to say that I object to a metaphysical explanation of things; however, it is very nice to have this subject discussed more objectively such as is done in New Beliefs New Brain. The book basically consists of a theory section and a section that outlines specific practices. The theory section was very informative, especially with respect to how our animal instincts toward survival (i.e., our fight or flight instincts) may manifest inside us as stress under typical, everyday types of situations and circumstances. The theory section by itself helps to increase one’s consciousness about the cause of anxiety that then helps one to minimize stress from manifesting in the first place. The best part of the book for me though is the practical application section. Many guided meditations are provided that one can recite and record, and then use daily to help further release stress and anxiety and rewire the brain to avoid accumulating further stress and anxiety in daily life. The author also presents some very personal trauma that she has experienced and relates this very effectively to the subject. This is a book I highly recommend to anyone wishing to get serious about reducing stress and transforming bad and destructive habits.

Life-changing book. Even if you don't feel like you have a lot of stress or fear in your life, you can still apply the techniques to increase your overall awareness of insecurities and anxiety. I love how Lisa talks about the science behind everything and doesn't press the spiritual side of rewiring our brains. Her prose is easy to read and understand, and she includes more in depth quotes from neuro-scientists, biologists, and psychologists when needed. It's obvious Lisa wanted to understand what was going on behind her own stress reactions -- the WHY of things -- and she does a wonderful job of investigating how our minds work. I highly recommend this book to everyone. In all seriousness, I really can't stop talking about it.
