Massacres, mayhem, and mischief fill the pages of Outlaw Tales of Oregon , with compelling legends of the Beaver State's most despicable desperadoes. Ride with horse thieves and cattle rustlers, duck the bullets of murderers, plot strategies with con artists, and hiss at lawmen turned outlaws.
This book is a testament that Oregon had many seedy and shady individuals running amok in the Wild West. From two bit robbers to gangs of murderers, this book was full of interesting characters and backstories.
Living in Oregon, I like to read about its history. The stories were a bit choppy and uneven, but overall it was mildly informative. Some of the people I had heard and read about; others were totally unfamiliar. This book would only have a narrow audience, namely Oregonians interested in history, and folks who like to read about early desperadoes. It is a book to pick up and put down since all the stories are units in and of themselves.
