I wasn't loving the book but the end with Isadora's self discovery, the book redeemed itself to me. And the audio version that includes an interview with Erica Jong gave me more appreciation for the time in which it was written and the impact it had.
I love her, but I was disappointed to find out that this was not all non fiction. That makes her an even better author, that she mixed the genres, but I read it as if it was all true until I got to the end of the book where it asks questions, and she explained that it was a mixture of fiction,non-fiction/memoir. She is one of the best writers I’ve ever read, and she knows how to spin a tale. Engaging and courageous. I must’ve evolved over the years because I remember trying to read this book about seven years ago and I kept putting it down. This time I picked it up and read it in to Settings. I would’ve read it in one but I fell asleep and that was definitely not due to the Contant. I was trying so hard to stay awake because I just didn’t wanna put it down. The next day I was so happy that I had more to read;)
