Meet the man behind the mania—Tebowmania, that is. Playing with Tim Tebow is an easy-to-read biography of the NFL sensation featuring an eight-page, full-color photo section. Part of Barbour’s exciting “Playing with Purpose” series, this quick-reading account covers Tim Tebow’s early life on the mission field, his amazingly successful high-school and college football careers, the NFL draft-day drama that made him a first-round choice, and his incredible breakout sophomore season as a professional quarterback. It’s a story of family, faith, and football that you won’t want to miss!
I read this expecting it to be fluffy and almost devoid of content, and somehow it was even less than I was expecting. Fortunately, the author gets in and gets out - this reads almost like a kids book. Anyone who's even passing familiar with the Tebow story won't learn anything here. Mostly, I'm happy to have it on my bookshelf as a reminder that the Tebow Era actually happened; it was so hilarious how overjoyed religious folks were at his success and how furious equally-zealous football fans were at people's refusal to see that his was a career that was never going to last. Tebow was fun just because he helped me see who in my social circle had no sense of humor.
This was an simple and enjoyable read even though I am not a American football fan. The story takes you from Timmy's birth to his trade to the New York Jets and includes highlights from his days in high school, college and the NFL. There are great photos included throughout the book as well. The majority of the book focused on the football career of Tebow; I wish there was a bit more on him personally. Overall, the book was well researched but it seemed to lack a lot in the area of personal details. Not being a fan of the game, the details of the plays were lost on me, but the details of Tebow and his character were great - I just wish there had been more.

I'm not a football fan, but I was interested in the story about this dynamic young man. I felt like this book was mostly facts without a lot of emotion or heart. His story is quite incredible, so I would have enjoyed a little more delving into the personal side of things. But maybe that's more in his autobiography.... This book was a fairly concise overview of his life up to 2012. I got a little lost in all the football jargon, but overall it was an easy read and good to learn a little more about Tim's life and faith.
I may not understand American football but the player got my interest. The book used lots of football terms. However, it got a short introduction of who Tim Tebow is. The thing that got my interest is that he was born in the Philippines to American missionaries. I know he is a Christian athlete but I did not know this other fact. An interesting read!

This book was packed with fun inspiring facts on Tim Tebow. You also got a sneak peek into parts of his life that the media won't talk about. I loved this book!
This is a really great book. It is very great worded and easy to understand. It tells a great story about his life. I would highly recommend this book. It is perfect for my age and older.
I enjoyed the book but was a little outdated since Tebow is no longer playing in the NFL. I loved that his faith was addressed but didn't care for all the play by play information.
