While the story seems interesting and I usually like the author's writing style, it was hard for me to get attached to the romance between Breeze and Logan.

As an assistant manager working hard to get that promotion before she turns 28, Breeze Cohen is 100% focused on her job and wants nothing to get in the way with it. When she literally falls on top of Logan Chandler, a tempting as sin man who happens to work for a client/brand, things might change.

She knows giving in to the connection with Logan will get in the way of her goals, and she knows what it might look like to date a client, so she stays away. But Logan has decided he wants Breeze and will do everything to get her walls down.

It was hard to get into the story because most of the store talk flew over my head. And I really didn't like how Logan pursued Breeze despite the fact she's said no multiple times. His sister told him to back off, but like a child, he ignores the advice and still pursues her anyway.

What made me finally give up on the book was this part:

"I don't drink." She continued to stare at the people coming and going in the busy lounge.
"Why not?"
She straightened her shoulders and turned to face him. "Because I just don't, okay?"
"Nope."
"What do you mean? It's my body and what I do with it is my business."

Guy just can't take a hint. So, no. I'm sure others will enjoy this, especially those who are into insta-love, but it's just not my cuppa.

I used this book to keep me entertained during a 4 hours flight to California, and it proved to be more entertaining than the inflight movie! Breeze Cohen, the determined protagonist, has her eyes locked on professional success while using a personal wall thinking that it will keep her from encountering hurt in a specific area of her life. What she doesn't realize is that same wall keeps her from happiness as well until she meets Logan Chandler, the sexiest man in her life who literally sweeps her off her feet at first meeting.

Bailey-Burke stories have a way of allowing the reader to escape a realistic romance story instead of one that it's so outrageous that you wouldn't believe it. The only reason I didn't give the book 5 stars is my issue with her other selections as well: I just think they're too short! Another 50 pages would do me just fine.

Bailey-Burke's stories tend to move fast, so if you're new to romance or you like a quick, life-escaping read, check her out!

Breeze is focused, so focused she puts her love life and dating on permanent hold. She wants nothing more then to work her way to the top and be the youngest manager for Mendelssohn's department stores. When a big launch is in jeopardy she is willing to do almost anything to make it a success.

When Breeze literally tumbled into Logan's arms and life they had no idea what would happen. With chemistry neither of them could deny - although Breeze sure tried - will they be able to balance work and pleasure or will it be a deal breaker?

This was an interesting read. I had to push my way through the first little bit to get into the story, but I was glad that I did. I really enjoyed the chemistry between the characters, how opposites Logan and Breeze learn to overcome the obstacles. I enjoyed Logan's pursuit of Breeze, how he tells her not to fight fate.

FOR KICKS was a cute quick read. Jenna is a new author for me and one I'll definitely look for in the future. This is one that most contemporary readers will enjoy.

This was good, but not great. When I sat down to write this review, I had to remind myself how it ended. It was sweet how Logan pursued Breeze, but he was almost stalkerish in his attentions, lol. He came on a bit strong. And considering Breeze's history, I can see how she was put off by that. Speaking of Breeze's history... who runs a young girl out of town because she lost her virginity??? While I know kids can be mean, her home town was WAY over the top. And it affected everything Breeze did with her life since then. Breeze was successful in a professional aspect, but personally, she was just alone. For Logan's part, no woman had captured his attention long enough for him to really have long-term relationships. But I guess something about Breeze called to him. I was really glad, once Breeze finished her whirlwind trip for her company (which was just insane) and realized she *still* wasn't going to get promoted (and, in fact, may be punished for her relationship with Logan) that Breeze had somewhere else to go.

So I spent most of the story frustrated with the h because she was constantly turning the H down even though she didn't truly want to but his seduction techniques were so good and her loins were betraying her... I didn't connect with her. She wasn't respected at work and she was willing to sacrifice anything to get a promotion with them. I didn't believe that the H would really chase this lady for so long just for a fling, what he was after in the beginning, to show her how to have fun. But I really liked the writing style and the ending was very cute. Not my favorite from JB-B, but a nice story anyway.

I'll admit that at first, I was a little skeptical about this book. The first chapter or so started out slowly so I wasn't sure whether or not it could grab my attention and keep it through the whole book but I'm so glad I stuck with it! Although it had a slow build up in the beginning with was well worth it and I will definitely be recommending For Kicks to all of my friends.

Received an ARC for my fair review for netgalley. This was an ok book, not bad, but not fantastic, however it is something to do. I liked Logan he was a nice guy, I do not understand his obsession with Breeze. I get he was attracted to her, but I could not understand why? I mean she rejected him constantly, and all she was focused on was work, so ok she had a bad experience when she was in high school, i get that, I get also that it was pretty traumatic for her, then get some professional help, you are an adult, stop with the see-saw. What I did respect from her, was when her petty bosses threatened her job, she did not take it lying down, she threatened back, good for her, she finally found her spine. And we get our HEA, because she finally realizes how much she loves Logan, and her family whom she neglected.

Have you ever read a book you wished had was endless? Or a book you could ramble about days unending?

Oh boy! I am moon struck 😍. Thankfully. Okay let's divulge this book.

And she backed down the ladder, she missed the last step and tumbled back into Anthony. Only it wasn't him. Her rib cage tightened and adrenaline rushed through her body. These were not Anthony's hands on her waist. Not at all _ excerpt from For Kicks
Breeze is swept down the ladder down to her feet and up again to a merry go round of adventure that would either make her or break her. Is there any feeling in the world like sharing a room with your crush, knowing he's a stones throw away?

I think one of the major reasons I enjoyed this novel was the fact that it was straight to point, no stalling or wasting time going in circles of irrelevant characters and scenes and yet elaborately told to make sure you got the entire picture.

The characters were real. I hate to admit it but even perfection gets boring at some point. I loved that the characters didn't seem too perfect, always right, morally judgmental.

It was a pleasure journeying with Breeze through her self realization, self acceptance and all the carousel of emotions built up inside her, charged in terrifying volts a wrong move and she goes nuclear.

I really fell in love with the characters and when I got to the last page I wished it was a series but everything was ironed out neatly, no hiccups, the conflict was resolved. Its hard to talk about this book without hinting spoilers but overall I look at this review and I pat myself at the back.

Workaholic meets her match

A very serious workaholic meets her polar opposite yet it works. They teach each other. He teaches her to prioritize what's important. And she teaches him to schedule priorities. I really enjoyed the growth of the characters and the writing. It's very refreshing in it's intensity.

Breeze Cohen doesn't have time for a relationship, not if she wants to accomplish her career goals. However, Logan Chandler makes her heart beat faster than she ever thought possible whenever he's near. Except with her working hard to make the Nitrous launch party a success, Breeze doesn't have time for the gorgeous man that is her complete opposite with his live-in-the-moment personality. Yet, Logan isn't about to let Breeze get away. Will Breeze realize that there's more to life than work, so she and Logan can achieve their happy ever after; or are her career goals too important for her to even consider giving Logan a chance?

What do you get when you pit a stubborn heroine obsessed with her career and a hero determined to show her that there's more to life than work? Well, the answer is an entertaining read from start to finish due to the obstacles this couple face on their journey to happy ever after. Will the hero be able to convince the heroine that there's more to life than work? That there is more than one way to achieve one's goals for their life. The way this story started had me amused, because the opening line had me wondering what the heroine was doing, as it makes her job sound exciting and she has an enthusiasm for her career that just had me wanting to know more. However, it was from the moment the hero and heroine met that had me captivated, as Breeze isn't one to make a fool of herself, and yet, she feels very foolish when it comes to first impressions with Logan.

As for the dialogue, it was intense due to the main characters back stories, especially that of the hero that makes him live in the moment because one never knows when their time is up. Moreover, I loved every interaction between the hero and heroine, as Logan is a very determined man and won't give up on showing Breeze that love and happiness is just as important as her career. I also liked how far Logan has come since his near-death accident and his drive to succeed in getting everything he ever wanted in life. While the heroine, she's stubborn, independent, driven and I liked that she didn't make things easy for Logan. Then again, with all that she's been through, it's understandable why she put so much effort into achieving what she wants for her career. How could her fellow students have been so cruel that it made her run away rather than face what happened?

Overall, Ms. Bayley-Burke has penned a really good read in this book where the chemistry between Logan and Breeze was delightful; the romance fervent and definitely shows off their chemistry nicely; and the ending had me loving how far Breeze was willing to go to show Logan she wanted a future with him. Who knew she had it in her to be so expressive by doing something that was definitely going to get the hero's attention? I would recommend For Kicks by Jenna Bayley-Burke, if you enjoy the opposites attract trope or books by authors Wynter Daniels, Daire St Denis, Sarah Balance and Hayson Manning.

Breeze works in retail as an assistant manager, and is currently handling an upcoming launch which means her dating life is on hold. She realizes she's missing something, but feels she doesn't have the time to search for it. But, sometimes, things land in your lap, or you do in theirs, right when needed.

Logan, a former athlete, knows how short life can be after surviving a near-fatak accident. He's determined to enjoy the life he was given a second chance at, and as such embraces anything that brings him happiness. Which includes the beautiful woman that fell into his arms.

Their chemistry is undeniable and explosive, but it seems they view life differently, one serious the other not, one organized the other spontaneous, and yet, it's hard to resist the pull between them. Though Breeze does try, and Logan refuses to allow her to run away from what they could have together.

Will these two work through their differences and realize what they share is enough to overcome anything? Can Logan and Breeze even have a relationship considering he works for her client? Will these two get their HEA?

One-click now and follow along as two people must decide what's more important.

For Kicks is a cute, sexy little read. Breeze has serious plans on becoming her company's youngest store manager. She lives for her work and has no room for anything else in her life, like love or a relationship. Then she literally falls into the arms of a hot guy and she slowly starts questioning whether her her career is all that she needs in her life. But, Luke works for her company's client, so can Breeze and Luke make a relationship work and keep it a secret?

I enjoyed For Kicks. Breeze and Luke are both likable characters with a strong emotional and physical connection. I wanted to smack both of them a little at times, especially Luke for being so incredibly persistent when Breeze was dead set against them starting a relationship while they worked together. But, I sort of have to admire his persistence, too. And I love seeing Breeze finally realize that her career wouldn't give her the fulfillment that a loving relationship would.

If you like your contemporary romances to be both cute and sexy, 1 click For Kicks today.

breeze cohen has one goal, to become the youngest store manager in the history of her company, supplanting her grandmother in the record books. when she meets logan chandler in for kicks, she has no idea that he's going to knock her off her path.

logan understands ambition. but he's also learned how to course correct when life throws obstacles in your way. his professional soccer career was cut short with a near-fatal accident and since then he's learned to jump into things. when he meets breeze his attraction to her is off-the-charts. it doesn't matter to him that their relationship might be construed as inappropriate given that they are working together on the same product launch.

logan is nothing if not persistent, and he can see that breeze feels the attraction simmering between them. he understands her reasons for keeping it quiet and does everything he can to honor her wishes. but it's hard for him to deny what he feels for her. he just needs her willing to take a risk on him, on how she feels about him. she's been badly burned once before. in a way that was life-changing.

being with logan brings her back to the girl she used to be. and that's just a little bit terrifying. because that girl was hurt and vulnerable. and feeling that way is the last thing breeze wants. but if you don't risk your heart, you don't gain love. it's a gamble, but a worthy one. and logan might just be a sure thing. this sounds super angsty, but it's actually not. this is fun and sweet, but not cloying. it's a solid contemporary romance. though be aware that while this is new to entangled's lovestruck imprint, this is a re-release. i never read the original so can't say if things have been edited.

Such a delightful story! I truly enjoyed both characters throughout the entire story. I loved how Breeze was written. She quite frankly wore me out with all the work she did, without ceasing. But I loved how she was dedicated and wanted to excel at her job. She was very determined and forthcoming. I adored Logan. He was sexy hot and was not hesitant in his pursuit of Breeze. He had so many fun and creative ways to break through her walls. But she also taught him that you do have to take parts of life seriously, that you cannot have playtime all the time. I loved their connection and their fighting for it, even in secret. I only wish there were more scenes/closure with her family. That would have been perfect.

I have a bit of mixed feelings about this book I didn't really love it but it was OK, cute with developed characters. But I was a little bit annoyed with Breeze and her stubbornness and Logan I didn't get his determination to suddenly have Breeze because it was at first sight like really he wanted her because she could t have her. And I really didn't understand all their businesses and what was the deal with it. Toward the end of the book, it got more interesting. The chemistry between those was hot and they are few sizzling scenes. But what I really loved the most was how did Breeze react on here meeting and how has she changed her life.

Please note: I received a copy of FOR KICKS from NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to the publisher and author.

Four stars and here’s why:

FOR KICKS was a great read. Breeze is focused on her career and doesn’t have time for love or dating. Logan, who survived a near-death accident, is driven in whatever he tackles in a seize the day sort of way, and that includes pursuing Breeze. They’re complete opposites and that’s what makes for a great story. Hella-hot chemistry and an overall fun read. If you love strong women and fun, sexy guys, this story is for you. Highly recommend.

A cute read. Breeze is driven by her career and doesn't even have love on the horizon. Logan never seemed to want to give up on the chase. Not even the countless times Breeze turned him down. I like the characters both driven and focused. One saw life as take it as it comes and don't forget how to live. The other there is only work. It was a nice change of pace. I laughed a bit and wanted to smack Breeze a few times. But in the end I loved Breeze and Logan together, The chemistry once they gave in was off the charts. A overall fun read.

For the life of me... I could not get into this book. I have to be honest, the last 50 percent I skimmed because it dragged for me.

Breeze Cohen keeps telling everyone she only wants a career and to make something out of herself in her grandmother's company. Logan Chandler keeps telling everyone he wants Breeze and will do whatever it takes to make it happen. It was repetitive and boring. I almost stopped reading, but I had to see how it ended.

This book has both cursing and on-screen sex. If those things bother you, you probably want to skip this story.

I wanted to love this book, I really did, but I really struggled with it. While I really liked Logan, his relentless pursuit of Breeze wasn't charming, it was obnoxious. He wasn't pursuing her for a relationship, he was pushing her to have sex CONSTANTLY despite her very articulate and accurate reasons for not wanting to have sex with him until her job was done and there could be no repercussions. Instead he chased her to the point where I felt really uncomfortable with it and was hoping she'd blow up at him. When they did finally have sex, it felt like she didn't so much fall for him as he wore her down and she just kind of quit fighting against his advances. Don't misunderstand me, there was nothing non-consensual about their sexual relationship, I just hated the methods he used to make it happen. I wish that Logan had respected her wishes and her professionalism and maybe pursued her for a friendship with her rather than constantly trying to seduce her. He knew nothing about her other than that she had turned him down for sex and that's why he was pursuing her. While the concept behind the story of Breeze and her job was pretty unique and interesting, the execution just didn't work for me.

I loved it! Breeze Cohen is funny, smart, driven and very very ambitious! She is determined to become the youngest store manage in the history of the retail chain she works for so is willing to take on an impossible project that will show that her job comes first, last and always! Logan Chandler is also funny smart and successful, but the former athlete is also a big believer is work/life balance after a near-fatal accident ended his athletic career. The two of them have chemistry and heart in spades, but will it be enough to overcome the obstacles in their way?

I enjoyed this much more that I was expecting (which sounds bad, but isn't intended as a reflection on the author). I've read books by Bailey-Burke before so I knew what a good writer she is, bit I was expecting a well written, but fairly standard, opposites attract romance, but I got a lot more! There was real heart in this story. Breeze, for all her ambition and drive to succeed, has real heart and hasn't allowed her ambition to stop her from making real friends and earning their loyalty. Logan never sets out to deliberately sabotage her ambitions, he just doesn't want her to drive herself into an early grave because he cares about her. They are just lovely and although the conflicts were never life and death, they were enough that the fledgling relationship could have easily been destroyed at any time and that kept me happily turning the pages.

This was originally published back in 2012 and I'm not sure if the previous edition was different but either way this is certainly a book I would recommend!

"Received an Advance Reader Copy in exchange for a fair review"
I loved this story and the author’s writing style, slowly revealing her main characters’ pasts, fears, strength and vulnerabilities. Logan and Breeze are two great, well- rounded protagonists, drawn with complexity and depth. They both grow and change throughout the story and that process is smoothly written.
The attraction is instantaneous but the build up is slow which makes the desire and yearning almost tangible. Logan’s strong attraction to Breeze goes hand in hand with his reluctance to commitment, even if doesn’t know it yet. His infatuation with Breeze is beautifully depicted, with some rather sensual details (for instance, he’s awed with her hair).
Logan is an exquisite wounded hero, the type “Mr. Live in the Moment. Seize the day.” I loved the way he wore his wounds, so dispassionately –he’s an “intrinsically happy” person, in spite of it all.
Breeze is a great character too, with insecurities, always "running from her past and towards a career".
The secondary characters are also great.
I liked the corporate world setting too, not something we see so well portrayed in romantic fiction.
I'm grateful to the publisher, Entangled Publishing/Lovestruck, and NetGalley for providing a free copy.
