About the author

Tommy Tenney is the author of multi-million selling The God Chasers series. He has written more than thirty books, with eight best-selling titles to date. Tommy has books in over forty languages, traveled into more than seventy-two countries and television broadcast into one hundred twenty nations. Tommy spent ten years pastoring and has spent over twenty years in itinerant ministry. His two passions are leading others to seek the presence of God and encouraging unity in the body of Christ. He is the founder of GodChasers.network, a mission's ministry organized to assist pastors globally, and distribute Tommy's teachings through various media. Three generations of ministry in his family heritage, and three daughters, have given Tommy a unique perspective on ministry. I'm in a marathon to read Tenney's books. This is my fourth book, the third book i read is God's Favorite House. But to my surprise, this book completely the same as the previous book. Well, maybe in this book there is no self study materials, but the other is the same or seems alike for me. Or maybe i have read the wrong book?

If you’re even the slightest familiar with pastor and author Tommy Tenney, you’ll know that he epitomizes the spirit of David. He’s a man who is so after God’s heart. As the one who established the phrase “God Chaser” in the lexicon of the body of believers, he has literally ushered a movement of people who seek the face and presence of God over the mere desire for merely a good church service. In his book Open Heaven: The Secret Power of a Door Keeper, he reveals the relationship matters that God holds dear.

If you have any kind of love for Tenney, you’ll love Open Heaven because he is still the consummate picturesque author who paints you a scenario of the themes he is focusing on to take you on a journey, illustrating the parallels of our natural lives to that which God desires in a relationship with us. He has an uncanny way of pulling you into those moments and then bringing the profound relativity to the heart of what God wants.

I would say to anyone who has a desire to deepen their relationship with the Lord, to read this. If you know someone who has ever said that there is an unquantifiable something that is missing in their life when they go to church, this book is for them. If you have any doubts about Open Heaven my suggestion would be to keep an open mind.

In the world of Christian authors, Tommy Tenney stands, if not alone, in very exclusive company. His latest work “Open Heaven” is a clarion call for believers in these last days to reawaken to authenticity, to stand before God in reverence and true worship. We are not called of God to a life of ritual and ceremony, but to a life that is rich in relationship with our creator. What is it that separates us from carnality, lukewarmness, and complacency in our Christian experience? It is simply an understanding that our Heavenly Father is holy and lovely and is worthy of our praise and adoration. When we live our lives from this perspective, our Christianity becomes a living, breathing, entity, an authentic relationship with the One who loves us unconditionally. We, as imperfect human vessels are most often creatures of habit yet also possess the innate ability to be creatures of passion. I’m very impressed with this book. Tommy Tenney have provoked me to seek God face and worship the Lord with all my heart with a passion more of God.And how we need to seek God like David did, pursuing God heart through our worship. Tommy gives you the keys how to manifest God’s presence and to align yourself for His habitation and so much more. If you hungry or just want more of God this is the book for you. Only one word I can give you to describe this is book “Incredible”.
I really like the section in the book on the benefits of having the manifest presences of God. Also Tommy Tenney is the author of a classic great book “God Chasers”.And I count this book Open Heaven: The Secret Power of a door Keeper is another dynamite classic. This book will change the way you look at worship, revival, yourself, church, and so much more. It will make you pine for more of God's presence, and give you the key for finding it. It's all about worship, which is all about God ( or at least it should be). We need to be able to look at our religious habits with a critical eye. When we worship, are we trying to attract people or God? Are we content with short visits or do we want Him to stay? Are we willing to be gate keepers - keeping those doors pried open so others can enter also? Are we passionate? Are we broken?

I highly recommend this book. As you read it, you will see familiar Bible passages through new eyes of understanding. In fact, you will look at a lot of things through new eyes.

Tommy, in very simple language, has provided us with a focus that can help shift our hearts toward God versus the Godly, realizing His presence on a permanent habitation rather than intermittent encounters. By positioning ourselves with a hungry, raw and authentic heart for God, our soil is ripe for Him and His Kingdom to come. We are invited to give up our performance, but not our pursuit, of Him; to chase the "Anointed" not the anointing; to tend and guard the portal to Heaven. Tommy challenges us in our love and what it means to sacrifice and take on the cares of the heart of our lover. This book is for the hungry!

This book is amazing! Talking about a holy desperation of pursuing the presence of God and only being satisfied by him. I have never read anything like it but my relationship with God is on a whole new level. Wow I love how God reveals himself to us it’s really amazing. After reading this book I find that my relationship with God has changed and I want to give a copy to all my friends for Christmas. we are all God's favourite house. loved that!
