She’s tired of running with the hares. It’s time to hunt with the hellhounds.
Sage Fleur’s first year at Oak Mountain University has flown by and it has nothing to do with the flying lessons she’s getting from a reluctant gargoyle.
Her studies come to an abrupt halt when Dean Carlton places her under suspension for being a danger to fellow students.
With a nerve-wracking disciplinary hearing on the horizon, Sage’s dream of graduating hangs in the balance. It seems sinister forces are not only conspiring against her but threatening her most vulnerable friends—the human ones.
Finding out your best friend is a mythical creature is surprising enough but, for Cara and Sam, finding yourself in Hell might be worse.
Luckily having five bonded mates means there’s always safety in numbers. And her entourage is growing. Sage may have all the guys she can handle but you can never have too many friends. And you’re entitled to an entourage when you’re a Queen, right? An immortal takes a special interest and a man with puppy dog eyes turns into a hellhound that’s bound to protect her.
Life has taught Sage to expect the unexpected. But when her enigmatic Uncle Lucifer arranges an official ceremony for Beltane, he’s also got a hell of a surprise in store for Sage.
Life can be hell when you’re the heir to its throne.
Heat level: 5/5. I knew he was bad news. I knew it and he's been exposed! The way Sage dealt with The Resistance, at least phase 1 anyway, was so simple and effective. Brilliant. I feel so bad for her. It's just one problem after another it seems like. At least she's got 5 peens to comfort her and a new friend now too. Maybe more actually. I have caught up and now eagerly await the next book!
I really liked the diverse characters in this book, new people are introduced and it makes you wonder where that’s heading. I’m unsure how to feel about the new information we read about James. He was a side character in the first 2 books and now has a much bigger role. I wish there was more dialog with the Hunt. He seems like an interesting character, naive but wise. He’s an immortal Djinn, been alive since the dawn of time, and he finds Sage to be something unexpected. Which draws his attention but it’s not explicitly open on whether it’s a romantic interest or a new bestie type of relationship.
Sages mom dating uncle Lucy was predictable, but her being treated by one of Lucy’s healer really changed the tone of how Sage acted. You could tell a weight was lifted off her. Her moms becoming a larger character in this book too.
It wasn’t surprising to find out that ASF was inbed with the bad guys, that was obvious since Sages first interaction with them (not Rowan). They didn’t lift a finger to help her. Rowan, he quit his ASF job because of how they treated her and is starting to open up more, it also sounds like Caden and he are heading towards a Dom/sub relationship too. There’s a mix of which harem guy likes the other harem guy, but not the other, but all the bedroom scenes are focused on her. I found the story to be intriguing, because she’s not just the Queen of Sirens, but Future Queen of Hell too, along with her familiar Hellhound James. Uncle Lucy faints when he finds out about her familiar because only the original Hell ruler had a Hellhound, and he was the most powerful. So uncle Lucy announced his intentions to step down when Sage graduates. I didn’t realize she was in her last year. I’m Canada, we don’t use terminology like junior, or sophomore. So I didn’t fully grasp that when Sage started her Sophomore debut at Oat Mountain and how she didn’t have years left. This book had less school aspects than the first 2. I also couldn’t really tell if this was the end of the series or if there is more…. If one comes out, I’ll definitely read it.
Yes there are grammatical errors and book two had a couple places where the name is wrong, the characters are written well enough that there was no struggle figuring out who it was supposed to be.
I agree another reviewer about the confusion. I get the feeling this is the last book, but it isn't clear. I want so much more from this series, or maybe just this world and these people.
So, love the series, the plot, the characters, pacing. But feeling let down if this is the one to end the series.
Finally get answers to this cliffhanger from the last book. Sage has way more answers that get revealed throughout the book. And it seems like people from the resistance have always been lurking in places of power. Luckily she has good support. Especially after the trauma she went through. Also. Love Hunt. Excellent friend choice. The ending feels like there is more to come, which I would be down for 😸
I like this series. I like that it’s academy and not bully. I heard it was supposed to be 4 books I hope to see a 4th book come out. This book thankfully ends on a hfn. I wish she would have gotten more mates but I love a big harem. I would have loved more scenes of the fmc dominating the male. We don’t see enough of that in rh. 40%storyline 60%🔥
This book was more spice than story. I really enjoyed the world and the story. This book had the potential to be epic sadly it felt rushed to round the story up. I still loved all the guys and I want to know more. I really hope there is more books in this world.
I’m torn, this was a good book - but I’m left questioning if this is the end of the series or if more books are planned. If more are planned then I’m super happy - but if this was meant to wrap up the story - I’m underwhelmed & disappointed.
A bit disappointed with this book. Yes the plot concluded but a bit suddenly and simply. Was expecting more from it. A couple of surprises about things but wanted more of a conclusion and something better given the many comments about speciesism and bullying.
